In 1944 Hungary was occupied by German troops because they were negotiating with the Allies, so the Hungary you see after that date in the video is actually a German puppet state just like the Italian Social Republic, and most of their fighting forces were German.

Without their navy, German cant transport their troops to Libya due to lack of warship protect them (cuz German focused in U-boat), and the African front may end in 1942, their navy was experienced, make Royal Navy focus 1/3 of their ship to Mediterenean, help those U-boat in the Atlantic less pressure from RN. 4:19 According to my knowldge the announcement was about switching sides, with orders also given to the military to join the soviets. These orders were slow to reach the front lines, and the German takeover immadiately ordered to continue fighting. Some units got the first order first and joined the soviets, most did not. But this mess resulted Hungarians fighting on both sides.

Nice job, Hungary in the war was very interesting, one of the most important but usually forgotten parts of Hungary in WW2 was when Germany invaded Poland Hitler wanted to use Hungary to invade southern Poland (like he did with Slovakia) but Horthy refused, in fact Polish soldiers escaped and were "interned" in Hungary (where they would later "escape" and regroup with other Polish army units) and thousands of refugees were also taken in by the Hungarian gov, so its nice to see that you pointed out how relations with Poland despite German pressure, remained friendly.

Hey! Don’t know if you’ll ever read this, but I don’t think you should leave UA-cam. I’ve watched you since Chinese Civil War 1945 and beyond and I think you have a better style than most mappers

Thank you for the compliment. I'm not abandoning my channel, but recently it's been hard to find the time to make videos.

Well, it looks like she won't be uploading anymore. That said, it was a great run. Hats off to one of the best videomappers ever.

Everyone calm down about the new video, this means they’re probably coming with a massive banger video, like what oversimplified did with the punic war video

It would be cool to see a follow up to the Manchu conquest of China. Great Qing's further expansion and consolidation of their territorial height
