      Compensating for the recoil of a pistol is the most difficult part of pistol shooting. What is your best method for keeping the pistol steady at the moment of trigger-pull?

    • @gray_citizen
      @gray_citizen 5 місяців тому +3

      @@Mark-in8ju stay target focused and react to your sight picture. You can do this at even an indoor range, start from low ready, focus your vision on your target, raise the firearm to your eyes and as soon as you have an acceptable sight picture pull straight to the rear. It is very difficult trying to hold the sights on target and take a perfect shot and not anticipate the recoil (especially for a beginner). After doing this for awhile you will learn that the recoil is no big deal. Basically distract yourself from the recoil by focusing on target.

    • @tigarxox
      @tigarxox 5 місяців тому +1

      The power isosceles stance. Be sure to flex at your knees as locking your knees will increase the recoil effect. Both eyes open, iron sight at eye level. After every shot reset iron sight to eye level. Take your time to aim center mass. Tip: weapon on safe, load magazine, chamber one round. While pistol is on safe cock the hammer back. With hammer back this reduces recoil on first shot. I’m only familiar with the 9 mm beretta, but concepts are the same.

    In my country (Spain) self defense is forbidden. Recently a 86 yo grandpa was condemned to jail for shooting a young man who was breaking in his house with a chainsaw (he had a long list of criminal record). I’m glad at least you guys can defend your lives.

    • @Provo647
      @Provo647 2 години тому

      Self defense is not forbidden in Spain. I am Spanish too. What happened in that case, is that the man left the security of the house, something to never do, and went outside the home, in search of the intruder, and then shot him, something that will bring you troubles also in the USA. I hope he is found not guilty after second trial because he is not guilty, the intruder had a chainsaw.

    09:58 ". . .Protestors or something" THIS!
    This one line shows why it's reasonable and justified for a civilian - who is well trained - to have access and ownership of a weapon like an AR-15. ANY of this 'aw but it's an assault weapon' argument goes out the window when it's been clearly shown a group, a mob of people trying to enter your home, is something that can happen.

    • @solarwolf1336

      A mob, an intruder, a crazy ex boyfriend, all absolutely valid reasons to have one of the MOST versatile firearms ever made. And its still not even the primary purpose of the 2nd amendment, that being a deterrent and defense against an(inevitably) tyrannical government.

      I think no civilian should have access to any "military grade" weapon. a simple pistol and 50 rounds is more than you'll probably ever need. you don't need a gun that can fire 30 rounds a second to be safe.

    • @TheJBSFamily
      @TheJBSFamily 5 місяців тому

      @@shmuelrosenbluth9741 good thing that none of the weapons in this video can shoot 30 rounds in a single second. None of these are select fire or fully automatic, these are semi-automatic firearms. The term "military grade" isn't accurate either, as the military DOES have weapons that are fully automatic, so these are actually, in some ways, less than "military grade" as you stated. You need to seek out some deeper, more informed resources around firearms. I respect your opinion, but it's built upon a lot of misinformation. A pistol has several detractors that make it less ideal, including ammo capacity, and being far more difficult to shoot accurately than a carbine.

    • @xXxDSMer
      @xXxDSMer 5 місяців тому

      @@shmuelrosenbluth9741You are absolutely free to choose a pistol and 50 rounds (most likely you'd have to pick five ten round mags in order to follow your own ideology... can't have any "high capacity mags" else you'll absolutely be a hypocrite).
      What you're absolutely NOT free to do is take others rights to keep and bear the arms of their choosing. Even if others do choose to utilize the ARmalite platform, and even if others do choose to utilize 60 round magpul drums, or 100 round double drums.
      You do you and leave others to do theirselves. If you can't do that, you're a fascist.

A lot depends on your residence, e.g., apartment, duplex with only drywall between, if a house, how far is the next house, how many trees and/or hills are between, brick, vinyl siding, or hardy board exterior walls, thickness/density of glass windows/doors, what rooms are your family members/roommates in and is there anything besides drywall between. Many caliber bullets penetrate several layers of drywall effortlessly. So many variables. Safety first.

      Well, a properly bred, fortunately chosen, expertly trained dog. With a big dog bark. You could have a big protection dog who’s a wimp, won’t bark and will hide. And if you are actually the alpha dog in the pack, your subordinate dog doesn’t think security is THEIR job. But if that dog is alpha, they will protect you but will be hell to live with. So a lot of this discussion is less controllable than the things discussed here in this video. Get the right protection equipment, set it up right, train with your stuff. If someone invades your home with bad intent, it’s always going to be a bad situation. I love these videos. I agree with Brett. My AR-15s are my favorite guns that I own. Followed by my AKs, FAL, and SKS. I carry a 1911 in .45ACP in a shoulder holster for my usual concealed carry. I wear a hoodie with a zipper over it. I occasionally carry Glocks or SIGs. I have always taken security very seriously. My Dad was a Federal Agent killed in a helicopter crash. He taught me to always be prepared. The one thing I wasn't prepared for was when my uncles broke into my house and destroyed thousands of dollars of stuff while I was out of town. They didn't even steal anything to keep. They just threw a bunch of stuff away. They threw away a bunch of my Dad's stuff and a ton of my things. I am waiting for a transplant and when I was in the hospital at 17, the University of Tennessee football team sent me a small Christmas tree with UT decorations, and a team book signed by a bunch of players and coaches. I loved those. They threw them in the dump. My only saving grace was when they tried to break into my gun room/vault they activated the alarm. I never thought I would trust perfect strangers more than family, but live and learn.

    Not to mention that shotguns are very hungry. 5-7 rounds and you're reloading. Constant top offs if there are multiple attackers. Clint Smith covers this in great detail. People have been told you don't have to aim a shotgun (just be point close to the target) because of the spread of the shot, but at 7-10 yards, most patterns will still be the size of a fist.

But, if there are 4-5 intruders, such as we are seeing a lot nowadays, then you're going to have to top off that gun. Not to mention, if you're not aiming the shotgun at center mass, you may merely wound the intruder. I would encourage you to watch Clint Smith teaching classes on defensive and offensive shotgun use. It definitely opened my eyes.

As for handguns, I shot 2 40 cal, one competition and one standard, a .22, .357, 9mm, and a .38. I personally like the 9mm the most. The .357 was the most painful to shoot and most difficult to aim because of the kick back. Overall, AR-15 and 9mm were my two favorites from that week. 😊

But I think proper posture, how your feet are planted, is probably the best way to maintain ultimate control. As for the actual moment of the trigger pull, just keeping a solid grip, holding tight, making sure you don't get in the way of the slide when one exists (learned that the hard and painful way 🤣😂), is the best advice I can offer. I'm not a pro, I have very little experience, and I've never taken any official safety course. Great video thumbnail! Imagine a reboot of 'Home Alone' starring Lucas Botkin. We think this version would not appeal to Democrats. But there is huge potential in this. This concept far surpasses the excitement of the original movies, despite their excellence, and is really needed in today's age, good defense examples at home. Colion Noir would be the best person to be a part of such a film, to represent such a symbolically important film for America with you, as he looks like a great actor possibility too, just like you. . Also, Great special forces team mate selection Lucas! Your special operations Millenial force and Gen Z force is taking shape already, as per your destiny, because the people that meet you, are the right people! This video showcases the remarkable potential of UA-cam influencers as action film stars, outshining traditional Hollywood icons, due to the sincere appreciation and meticulous devotion to the professional work craft, rather than the devotion to the acting craft. . Want to be ready for any national emergency or challenge America, even standing up to China military, or AI arms race, or ending the international cultural war that gives so much division in America? A trillion-dollar army might fall short, and is probably not going to fix this. But teaming up an engineer with Lucas Botkin, a person who could rival Tom Cruise if the right film projects materialized, would give the action stars a run for their money and would continue the Tom Cruise Top Gun spirit for America. By creating media with companies such as DailyWire, along with high analysts & their technology, a few influencers from UA-cam , DailyWire & Lucas, could make everyone change their work ethic and cooperation levels to achieve like Lucas.

Even if you just use it at night it will be worth it. I think many people are just reluctant to admit to themselves that evil exists and humans do horrible things to each other . But it's not about living in fear , it's about living in comfort . Knowing you at least have a plan and some tools. I teach this stuff too and the vast majority of people I talk too have NO IDEA what they would do if suddenly their door burst open. The don't even have a baseball bat or stick nearby . They say "Well I'd call the police". I ask them to, without looking, to tell me where their phone is. Can they find it? Is it locked? Can you open it and dial it and give your address as I am punching you and throwing you across the room? How do you plan to spend the next 10, 15, 20 minutes before they show up? A professional boxing round is only 3 minutes . But that's a looooong time when you are being hit.
