Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is another Guy Richie movie. Some of the same cast, set in same time and area as Snatch, another Web of interlocking plots and the same dark humour and wit throughout. I guarantee you'll love it as much as we love your reactions ❤

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is the same director (Guy Ritchie) and some of the same cast. Also a crime comedy in the same vain and a good watch.
The Gentlemen, RocknRolla, Sherlock Holmes ! & 2, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels all great Guy Ritchie movies. Layer Cake by Matthew Vaughn is "Guy Ritchie-esque"
Guy Richie directing sequence during the last fight was next level. Especially the choice to show Brad Pitt falling in a lake of water to represent getting knocked out. ------ It took me back to scenes in, "Trainspotting" and "Requiem for a Dream". ---- Be sure to check out those flicks as well.
Wait, what? You have a full time job on top of doing this AND having a newborn? Good on you for somehow finding the time and the energy -- I'm very impressed. And great reaction. I love the movie and the soundtrack. As others have suggested, The Gentlemen is a worthy recent addition to the director's British crime films.
Pretty sure the only films that are similar to this are other Guy Ritchie films. Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is very close in both tone and humour. Also, for something lighter in tone but with the same style, you could try Ritchie's take on Sherlock Holmes.
@@Edowulf If you like it you like it, but for me Rocknrolla always felt like the rough draft version of either Snatch or Lock Stock, despite being released later. It just didn't have the right magic.
You should check out Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels which is similar to Snatch and also Directed by Guy Ritchie, who is English btw. You should also check out The Gentleman which is also Guy Ritchie and is also quite similar. RocknRolla is also Guy Ritchie and also similar. Another great English Director is Matthew Vaughn and his best movie is The Kingsman: Secret Service which is well worth watching. He also Produced Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels for Guy Ritchie. Kick Ass and Layer Cake are two other movies Directed by Matthew Vaughn which are well worth watching. They have all got that fast paced witty English humour like you saw in Snatch. Incidentally Christopher Nolan is also English and has Directed some great movies,Tenet, Dunkirk, Interstellar, Inception and Oppenheimer which came out this year, all are definitely worth watching. England has some really great Directors at the moment and as well as Guy Ritchie, Matthew Vaughn and Christopher Nolan you should check out Paul King who directed Paddington 1 and 2 which are great family films with a more light-hearted feel...great for watching at Christmas! England has the best Directors on the planet at the moment and Edgar Wright is also English and Directed and co wrote Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World's End with Simon Pegg and Directed Baby Driver and Scott Pilgrim vs the World. If you haven't seen any of these movies I've mentioned by all of these great English Directors you should check them out. Start with Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels though, it's as good as Snatch in my and many peoples opinion. 😁😁
I honestly can't believe this is your first Guy Ritchie outing, I coulda sworn you'd already seen a few before. The good news for you is that Snatch is the overflow of the script that the director/writer couldn't fit in his prior (first) film, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, so you still get to look forward to that gem. Camaraderie and the classes, that's what I've consistently gotten from his films, with humour and a master's touch in craftwork. Man from UNCLE, Rock'n'Rolla, the Sherlock flicks... you have so much amazing fun flicks still to come :D And if you want a nice calm/chill, laid back Brad Pitt flick, then please try David Fincher's Benjamin Button :)
Hey Marijke, Brad Pitt is amazing in this role, showing he was not just a pretty face his transformation into every character he plays is top notch for sure. ------ You should check him out in "12 Monkeys", "Seven" and "Burn After Reading"
A comedy I guarantee you will love is Death at A Funeral. Its just the right mix of dry humour and absurd situations. Two other movies by the same director and the same crime/comedy (and the same stars!) are: Lock, stock, and two smoking barrels The Gentlemen.
8:49 Fun Fact: Pitt’s casting for this role was independent of Fight Club, but the movies were made right after each other, so he was worried about type-casting himself as a Boxer.
If you enjoyed this, you should love “Sexy Beast". Probably the most stylish of the modern UK gangster movies. The whole cast is great, but Sir Ben Kingsley plays one of the most memorable characters in UK drama history. Even critics were astounded that the actor who played Gandhi had so much range. It’s a great movie
a few more excellent Guy Ritchie films... Lock, stock, and two smokin barrels, The Gentlemen and two Sherlock Holmes movies.. definitely all worth a watch Mary
I never realized how much they utilize that big bald guy with the broken nose. He appears as several separate background characters throughout the film.

A great new Guy Ritchie film is The Gentlemen. Also, Layer Cake is similar. It wasn't directed by Guy Ritchie, but I think it was made by his producer.
This; Lock stock and 2 smoking barrels; The gentlmen, are a kind of Guy Ritchie trilogy - all excellent, although no narrative through line and the last movie was made a long while after the other two.

This movie was made after Guy Richies debut movie: Lock stock and two smoking barrels. It was a huge succes and Bratt Pitt called him for a role (after fight club) so this movie in the planning stage, got rewritten so Bratt Pitt got a larger role. It is said that to mask Pritts American accent he played a gypsy. Thus a must see movie is: Lock stock and two smoking barrels. If you like this you need to watch "Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" Also by Guy Ritchie. Also English gritty crime comedy. I personally feel it's better than "Snatch".
British gangster films is one of my favorite genres. I recommend Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (also drected by Ritchie), The Limey and Sexy Beast. Ritchie was married to Madonna when he made this, I believe.
Guy Ritcie had another movie, which is basically the Hollywood version of this - The Gentlemen Other great movies from him are Lock, Stock and two smoking Barrels, and also The man from U.N.C.L.E.
Two films I know have similar vibes as this, Martin McDonagh's Seven Psychopaths from 2012, and Bullet Train from last year. Really entertaining crime comedies both. EDIT: McDonagh's first film, In Bruges (also "Snatchlike") takes place in Belgium.
Great Reaction.:) Pikeus are Gypsies and the best friends you could have,........and the worst enemies! Vinnie Jones, wjo had The Desert Eagle gun was an International Footballer for Wales and played at the top level of the English League...
For more Guy Ritchie everyone's suggesting "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and I completely agree, but I'd also recommend "The Man From U.N.C.L.E" for a fun James Bond-style romp.
fun fact: guy ritchie movies became very popular. which made edgar wright want to make the movie Hot Fuzz… a movie in which a cop is a good guy. (i heard this fact on the internet and i hope it’s true. 🥺)
The original DVD edition had a nice easter egg. When selected, you were asked whether you were "easily offended". Then you were presented a 90 seconds Snatch trailer of "some of the best swearing and gunfire in contemporary British cinema". The "clean" version consisted of virtually 90 seconds of beeping. I believe you'll find the unclean version here on YT under "snatch fuck".
Great reaction Mary, one of my favorite large cast movies. Style and humor is great, love English comedy, I think of the Corneto Trilogy when I see this editing style.
Lock stock & two smoking barrells is Guy Ritchies previous movie to this one. People have recommended it in the comments and a i absolutely agree. There is a film titled Bullet Train that came out in 2022 starring Brad Pitt and to me it kind of feels like a distant cousin of Snatch so i recommend that one too.
Hey Marijke, welcome to the world of elite crime heists of the century when ask things go according to plan. ----- Yet ends exactly as movie fill circle plans go.
Right? I realize different parts of the world have differ things, but, still! Or they may have different names. Here in the US we call them jelly-filled doughnuts, but the same. And yummy!
Hmm, similar movies: Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Stretching it a bit The Italian Job (1969), classic Michael Caine comedy crime caper. Then contrast with Get Carter (1971), for a darker gangster movie. If you like that, A Long Good Friday (1980). I'd also recommend Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys.
As others have said you should do Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels as it pretty much started this type of formula you should also do Mean Machine there's 3 versions ( 3rd is called The Longest Yard for some reason) all are great.
This movie is pretty elite, but I would also put A Fish Called Wanda (1988) on the top list of comedy crime movies. More comedy than crime but a nearly forgotten classic. The Player (1992) is also good. Directed by Robert Altman, it is a Hollywood insider movie and has huge number of cameos in it. Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) is a movie where toons actually exist and somebody is murdering them. Great movie and one of the first to include live action and animation together. Paper Moon (1973) is a cute father/daughter (maybe) bonding movie about a con-artist in USA during the depression. Police Story (1985) is Jackie Chan at his best. Hong Kong movie so it is in Cantonese with subtitles. Fargo (1996) is a Cohen brothers classic. Also in the Cohen brothers vain is Raising Arizona. Also by Guy Ritchie is Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) another british crime movie. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005). There are a ton of comedy movies with crime in them. Like Bad Boys, or Beverly Hills Cop and another good one in that genre is 48 Hours. The last two listed are Eddy Murphy movies.
Very similar is Ritchie's first movie: Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. I actually prefer Snatch -- but only slightly. Lock, Stock is GREAT, and I'm certain you'll like it.

@@JohnDoe-bz4yl I'm sure the list could be at least 10-fold, but I only suggested the ones I've seen 🙂
If you like this you need to watch "Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" Also by Guy Ritchie. Also English gritty crime comedy. I personally feel it's better than "Snatch".
I love how Benicio Del Toro's character keeps asking "where is the stone" when Thanos askes his character the same question in Guardians of the Galaxy
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
A comedy you might love is "The Wedding Crashers" with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson
great film great reaction. did you notice when the dog snatched the diamond? lol
We have been known to put jam in doughnuts. Plus there's a slightly amusing game of having to eat one without licking your lips. Never managed that.
British gangster films is one of my favorite genres. I recommend Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (also drected by Ritchie), The Limey and Sexy Beast. Ritchie was married to Madonna when he made this, I believe.
You'll be happy to know that the odd tilted camera angle is called a "Dutch Angle".
20:57 Salamanca Place has certainly been re-developed and pedestrianised since this came out. You can't stop progress.
Thanks for sharing! I enjoy your reaction
Guy Ritcie had another movie, which is basically the Hollywood version of this - The Gentlemen
Other great movies from him are Lock, Stock and two smoking Barrels, and also The man from U.N.C.L.E.
Layer Cake is another great movie in this genre. It's the movie that made the James Bond producers interested in Daniel Craig
Rock-n-rolla, lock stock and 2 smoking barrels and his 2 Sherlock Holmes movies are great! But Snatch is my favorite. It was only his second movie.
Mary reacted to "In Bruges" years ago, but it's only on Patreon.
you gotta love films Guy Ritchie & Danny Boyle does. They are currently two of my fave film makers. I just love their style and editing.
Great Reaction.:)
Pikeus are Gypsies and the best friends you could have,........and the worst enemies!
Vinnie Jones, wjo had The Desert Eagle gun was an International Footballer for Wales and played at the top level of the English League...
My favorite British Gangster movie is the one that won Daniel Craig his role as 007, Layer Cake.
Biggest takeaway from this reaction is that Mary hasnt had a jam fillled donut 😱
Right? I realize different parts of the world have differ things, but, still! Or they may have different names. Here in the US we call them jelly-filled doughnuts, but the same. And yummy!

Hmm, similar movies:
Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
Stretching it a bit
The Italian Job (1969), classic Michael Caine comedy crime caper. Then contrast with Get Carter (1971), for a darker gangster movie. If you like that, A Long Good Friday (1980).
I'd also recommend Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Nice Guys.
Snatch is a top 5 rewatchable movie ever!! So many quotable lines. Top tier performances across the board
Yep, So many quotable lines at least the ones you can understand;)
Rock-'n'-roller and lock stock and two smoking barrels and the gentleman are great guy Ritchie movies
As others have said you should do Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels as it pretty much started this type of formula you should also do Mean Machine there's 3 versions ( 3rd is called The Longest Yard for some reason) all are great.
My god jam donuts are amazing, especially freshly made ones.
Fun fact, as a lighter weight MP (last century)…just land right. They always try to launch you.
Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes films are amazing IMO & highly recommended for anyone who is a fan of Holmes or Ritchie’s films
Here's a great comedy TV series to react to: The Vicar Of Dibley! One of the best British comedies! Another, but sketch comedy, is Goodness Gracious Me!
