The term Chopper for helicopter first came into usage during the Korean War 1950 to 53 because of the US military (Bell-47) type helicopter which was a small two seat chopper that made a very distinctive sound when in flying that sounded like chop, chop, chop and when this helicopter was running while on the ground you needed to approach it bent down because it could possible chop of the head of someone because the outer edge of the rotor blade was somewhat low to the ground when it was in idle mode. This type helicopter could carry two wounded troops attached to the aircraft landing skids on military stretcher that were ties down on the exterior of the helicopter. So approaching this type helicopter was dangerous. The name stuck and was common by the Vietnam War era and onward for especially military helicopters.

It was the most expensive movie ever made at the time, but I always laugh at the scene where they drive through the fence escaping the hospital - dragging a rag doll dummy behind the car as the T-1000. That shot is pretty bad. You'd think they could have done something better with a posable dummy that looked like the terminator climbing up to the trunk or something.

An interesting little tidbit that James Cameron threw in, when Sarah goes in to assassinate Dyson in his home, the pistol she pulls out when she enters the house is a .45 Silverballer. The same pistol Arnold uses when he confronts Sarah in the first one.
Basically Cameron's way of drawing a parallel about how, for a short period of time, Sarah becomes the very thing she fears most. A ruthless, programmed killing machine with no remorse, intent on killing to change the future. Only John can return her to her humanity.
In the end, Sarah's humanity wins.

    • @callmeshaggy5166
      @callmeshaggy5166 9 місяців тому +3

As you said, her humanity won out. However, she pulled herself back as John hadn't gotten there yet. John was doing what he was meant to do - stop a Terminator from killing, though he would've been too late had Sarah not been strong enough. He was going to stop his mother even if it meant not saving 3 billion people, as he told the Terminator on the ride there.

❤💚❤💚 (Christmas colors). The stunt with the helicopter going under the bridge was all real, and they did it twice. The largest clearance was 7' the smallest 4'. Cameron had to film it himself because the crew refused because they thought it was too dangerous. That stunt pilot is s legend. Nice you watched one of the better cuts, a few extended scenes, but with the original ending. There is a different edit where the studio changed the ending to be more 'happy' than the original release. To say the least fans don't like it.

The Protectinator. As a kid in the early 90's this movie was absolutely amazing to us and still is. We were just like John Connor. "Easy Money" This was during the birth of CGI and it was mind blowing, just like Jurassic Park. They didn't depend on it, they utilized it in its infancy. There are actually two sets of twins in this, the cop's and Sarah's. I honestly cried at the end the first time. I can't lie. "It's when there's nothing wrong but, you cry any way." If a machine can learn the value of life maybe we can too...

Yes, Terminator 2 was the most extensive CGI effects used up to the point of it's release. James Cameron is always at the cutting edge of technology. He used CGI earlier in 1989 for the water alien effects in The Abyss, and of course he made the best movie with 3D technology in Avatar.

Test audiences didn't understand that freezing screwed up the T1000's mimicking abilities, so that was cut from the theatrical release. The plot line with CPU being altered was removed as well to simplify the story and make the film shorter. Other elements where information was repeated or superfluous (e.g. the T1000 in the kennel with "Wolfie") were removed as well.

Originally, rock star Billy Idol (Dancing With Myself, Mony Mony, Cradle Of Love, LA Woman) was going to play the villainous T-1000, but injured his leg in a motorcycle accident and had to drop out. Robert Patrick took the role.
There is even an early storyboard that shows Idol as the T-1000.
The opening scene where the Terminator arrives naked from the future was almost cut from the movie as the producers thought it was a remake of the original, but when they learned the Terminator didn't kill anyone in the bar, they kept it in the final cut of the movie.
James Cameron was high on Ecstasy as he was writing the script. He revealed this in an interview for AVATAR THE WAY OF WATER.

Another T-800 clad in body-builder Franco Columbo’s flesh as another T -800 model seen in the first movie attacking the underground rebel base. Plus if you think about what the alternate ending to T2 (aka directors cut) causes than everything in T1 & T2 shouldn’t happen and John is either not born or is born later with someone else as his dad and Kyle is just some random kid. So T3 is correct when they say “judgment day is inevitable”. For Kyle to remain John’s dad the war has to still be going on therefore resulting in the plot of the movie series. Cause look at all the movies that deal with time. A change in the past would cause the future to alter.

The scene where she removes the chip from his head was done in a very clever way (most of this scene was cut from the theatrical version): The real Arnie is facing us through the mirror frame that is supposed to look like a mirror image of the Arnie in with his back to us. that Arnie is a dummy. The Sarah Connor closest to us is played by Linda Hamilton's sister, while the real Linda is playing the mirror image of Sarah. They use a similar trick using her identical twin sister in the scene where Arnie is coming up the conveyor belt with the rocket launcher and John realizes that the woman in front of him is the terminator, not his mom (he sees her feet are messed up, but in the theatrical version he figures it out in some other way).

Arnold Schwarzenegger is an amazing man. He's achieved every goal he's set for himself. Becoming Mr. Olympia, coming to America not even speaking English, becoming a box office movie star, and becoming governor of California. All through hard work and dedication. The man is a great role model.

It is one of those rare sequels that it better than the original in almost every way. It expands upon and builds upon everything the original did, and the visuals still hold up very well today. And it feels even more emotional, as we see a machine developing a bond with humans and learning what it means to be a human and have meaningful connections with others. It's why T2 is considered both one of all-time best sequels but also one of the all-time best action movies.

And yes there is a 3rd movie and even sub story movies but to be honest the story ends for me with T2:Jugement Day

I love how many effects in this movie were practical stunts. Truck off the bridge? Real. Bike off the ledge? Real (with wires but shh). Helicopter flying beneath the overpass? Real. The T1000 getting shot? Believe it or not... practical effects with mylar and squibs.

Scenes NOT in the theatrical version:
    The orderlies beating up Sarah.
    Sarah's dream about Kyle.
    The T-1000 killing the dog.
Opening the terminator's skull to change the switch. Instead the line ends with "...the more contact I have with humans, the more I learn."
John teaching the terminator to smile.
Scenes of Dyson at home with his family.
Them smashing up the lab with axes.
The T-1000 malfunctioning after being frozen and shattered.
There are two more scenes that weren't included in this version: After the T-1000 kills the dog, it searches John's room and finds the hospital's address on some letters, and an alternate ending showing that the war never happened. Old Sarah sits on a park bench while an adult john plays with his daughter. Sarah says he became a senator, and ends with the "If a machine can learn the value of human life, maybe we can too." line.

There is a 3rd one, and I think it conclude pretty well that arc, so you should probably watch it. There are other later movies as well, a bit disconnected from the first 3, they are not bad movies, but more "generic action movie" I would say.

-"You can't go around killing people!"
    -"Why?"😁
Terminators are walking weapons. John underestimated this fact at first. But he quickly realized this. That these things are not for play and have no sense of humor either. As well as any other feelings In that sense.
So before using it, read the instructions.😁
For this, Terminator showed his hand to Dyson, for full proof that these things really exist.
I love the last Terminator screen: all in 0.00 ; this is when all functions are blocked. And the inscription: inevitable shutdown. This time it can no longer be turned on.
The lesson is that this machine now has a soul because of the child, after a machine learned the value of a human life. So John didn't just lose his bodyguard, he lost a friend. This last hand was about Sarah and John never giving up.
    I really love the ending.
Actually love how you think during the movie, you don't just take ready answers. For me, this is a very important point from the serious viewer. So I had never actually watched "movie reacts" before these few days, during which I watched many "movie reaction" channels besides yours. And honestly, apart from your reaction, I only liked the reaction of two other channels". The others were interesting, but very flat.

Arnold had 3 demands when it came to doing this film. One, he was the good guy. Second, in lieu of salary he got a private plane. And third, he got points on the back end, which means he made money based on how well this did internationally, which he reportedly turned in his points eventually for around $300 million dollars.
