Just read your blog from the summer. It depressing to me that you're so talented and have had so much rejection. I'm not nearly as talented as you, I don't have a chance in hell. I guess I just languish in mediocrity until I die. I'm glad you're optimistic. Not that I'm not. I've just been obsessed with this stuff my whole life and have nothing to show for it. I'm going to take a page out of your book and just enjoy the process for myself. Thank you for the videos. They cheer me up.
@@middlemarv I’m happy to hear that my own experience and approach could be a positive influence on your own art journey. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m fortunate I’ve always had a ‘regular’ job and for the most part made comics just for myself. I consider myself fortunate to have even the very small, but insightful and encouraging, interactions here on UA-cam. And that’s only come in the last few months really. I think I’ve been on UA-cam for over 10 years and only now people are able to get a glimpse of what I do; hopefully the algorithm will deem me worthy LOL! (I guess that is my ‘gatekeeper’ now.) At the end of the day, sure I’d like to make some money from my work. But I realize for me it’s about doing work I find fulfilling first, and not trying to take my comic art and chase some standard or be at the approval of a gatekeeper. Kudos to all those who have made it as a pro. We all make and walk down the path that is in front of us.
The flow is great on this one. The hand-side of the panel almost makes a perfect figure 8.
Oh wow, that's cool! I never saw that one :)
