It seems it is an often overlooked/ignored fact that each and every page of a comic, particularly done this way, is a true work of art in and of itself. People who aren't into comics can easily dismiss it as simply a "comic", not seeing the time and artistry that goes into every line of every page. Beautiful work, and thank you for showing us through the looking glass what it takes to be a professional artist in this genre.
Thank you so much for this sentiment. I myself love collecting interior art from my colleagues. A beauty of blood, sweat, and tears.
@@SiyaOum It certainly takes all three to make, lol! Thank you again, for the inspiring artwork and video content.
And thank you for stopping by my channel. :)@@calebwhiteknives
I thought comics were done digitally
It's commercial, but all art is commercial, so it can all be appreciated on the same level
Only handmade. Accuracy and perseverance. And no undo keys! Huge respect for you!
I envy the view from your windows.
I'm stubborn like that, and love the process so much! Thank you!
It's crazy seeing the artwork materialize in front of your eyes. I knew inkers added a lot to the final product but seeing it transform pencils is something else.
Oh thank you so much! I wish it felt like magic when I'm working on it hahaha!
🌹💙🌹
No plans for November 9th, just a blanket, cocoa and your video. 🎨📼
🌹💙🌹
Beautiful work ❤ Also for people who don’t know, it’s normal to go back and correct ink work, I picked up a marvel artist edition, and the correction marks are all over the place, so get it right the first time, but don’t throw a sheet out if it just needs some white ink to make it better (deleter white #2 ftw) .
I always great to see another artist that draws most stuff traditionally.
I would 1000% buy this and frame out on my wall. It's soo beautiful. Comic book like art is one of my favourite styles
Oh, thank you so much!
I love Lady Mechanika! glad this finally dropped in my feed.
Notification set! Favorite comic and favorite artist!!!
xoxo :). Thank you!
How fantastic! Thank you for sharing your work process!
Thanks for watching!
It's definitely intriguing and an attentive process for comic fans such as myself! Awesome video~ 👍🏼👀👍🏼
thank you so much!
Beautiful work my friend. Your line work is really exquisite. I love black and white line work the most of all. Something so satisfying about producing a finished page.
It's so good to see a left handed person draw... Noting I'm left handed too so seeing this confirms a lot of little subtle things I do too. I've stumbled across similar technique (hey I'm not entirely mad... good to know). Your comments about getting the energy needed to get a flow started is so familiar. The muse doesn't speak twice so grabbing inspiration when it arrives and not letting go is kind of a central effort, especially in the early hours.
My difference is that I always start with the faces (especially the eyes) since they hold the emphasis and if I mess them up early, I get the chance to start over as many times as it takes without wasting a lot of time... the rest kind of flows and mistakes are less obvious.
Thanks for this... good video.
Our process is so personal. That's why I try not to give advice out without saying, "This is what I do, my approach." Otherwise it seems like I believe everyone should approach creating, the same way. Thank you for your message! So glad I made a fellow south paw happy haha.
No comments..excellent professional. Very lighty and detailled illustrations.
Thank you for this video. I love seeing women in this line of work because it inspires me as well!
I tried to make my own comic back in 2008, but I was young and wanted to complete 10 pages in one day. 😅 I ended up crying and hating myself till 2020. Nowadays I feel like I'm sick every single day (not something physical) so I don't even try anymore. My mind keeps telling me: 'Hey you are already 29 almost 30. You are too old do to things that take too long to complete. You gonna die before it is even done'.
Watching you while drawing was so beautiful that I cried.
💕
⭐❤⭐
You are never to old to start something new! Go for it!
Wonderful work! And a lefty as well! ✋🏻👍🏻
Finally I’m watching this. I was so busy I refused to watch this until I had the whole day to myself. Her video is literally pulling me out of artist block and sadness.
That's so awesome. :)
looking great love your work
Thank you!
Fantastic! Gorgeous work! Pretty much exactly what my process is, even down to the glove. Amazing.
Oh that's awesome! We artists aren't so different, are we? :)
this is so cool seeing the whole process
I love what you do, definitely inspiring. It's nice to see you inking the traditional way. Nowadays everything is done digitally.
🌹💚🌹
In school I used to make the thumbs, then to layout, then blow it up to size, then lightbox and then pencil. But when working on the monthly book, I pretty much went from thumbs to laying it out directly on the board and finishing the pencils. Generally I started in the upper left down to lower right. Just so I didn't smear the pencils a lot.
So inspiring, incredible work ANNNND. a very soothing voice 😊❤
AGREED
I love that series, Lady Mechanika is awesome! great work, thank you for sharing your process....
I’ve never seen a person write well that’s left handed. To be that talented with the left hand I find remarkable.
Haha, why thank you!
Goodness, you have a fabulous life. I hope it continues.
So good. You are one of my all-time favorite ARTISTS!! Whereas some are pencilers, inkers, or colorists. You cover ALL bases. Traditional and Digital. You truly are a unicorn. :-) As always, I look forward to your next post.
hahaha, I like Unicorns, so thank you! :D. Much appreciated for your kind comment!
🌹💙🌹
oh wow, you have a wonderful control with brush. Beautiful lines
Thank you so much 😀

This is dope AF! The soft voice and the brush… Unicorn watching over your work! I love the fack the everytime im in a crunch at the studio and were having our 12 hr a day schedule you always have a video coming to help boost moral! Much love thank you for been awesome!
Oh, that's so awesome to hear that I have impeccable timing. At least something is on time am I right?! hahaha. Thank you so much for your kind words. This is very motivational for me. Good luck with your deadlines!
Great work!!!
Awe, thank you so much!
Amazing, please keep sharing!
Amazing work! Thank you for sharing your process.
Jesus Christ woman!!! that is art in its purest form! Congratulations!! You remember me my old days working that way. At that time, I usually thought: "I can't wait for the day when I can draw all this on a computer..." and that day is today. But without the magic...
It is so nice to see inking by hands ! So much artist only do this step on the computer nowdays. +1 subscription
🌹💚🌹
Beautiful work, I love your inking.
I've always been too scared to ink directly onto my pencils, and end up using a lightbox and a separate piece of paper
It's always inspiring to see you at work. so much talent.
Thank you so much!
My God you're so talented. It's state of the art your art 😊.
I can’t wait😲!!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
*High five!
As someone with no formal art training who just recently decided to just drawing my own comics myself, I'm glad your video came onto my feed. It was great seeing the process from someone that is also drawing traditionally (pencil, pen, & paper.) Such wonderful detail!
You don't necessarily need to have good art in you're comics to make great stories.Take the creator of Opm as an inspiration. His drawing skills may be average, but his stories are excellent.
Awe, thank you! Nowadays, with so much content online, seeking out great art tips and fundamentals is much easier. I'm so grateful. My best to you and your art journey!
@@bryanfeitosa6940 The funny thing about you saying that is that One's artwork is one of the main motivators that's pushing me forward, haha! I figure as long as I improve along the way, it'll turn out fine. Thanks so much! ^^
@@SiyaOum You're very welcome, I've checked out some of you other vids while I had the time. Enjoying the content!
@@aRBy125 You're welcome man
Exceptional work, methods and love your approach. Not everyone understands the start of each day's work in the art world. Sometimes deadlines, work loads and daily grinds can dull your passion "at times." Very true to say the first ten or fifteen minutes to get things flowing and hit a groove is part of the process. Time slips away when that happens and enjoyment begins to takes over. Sometimes, I felt my spirit take flight in those moments,.. looking back. Just stumbled on this vid and so very glad I clicked. Loved listening as much as watching. Thank you for sharing these moments. Meant a lot.
I love your videos and your art. You are so inspiring. Looking forward to your next vid.
Thank you so much!
That´s amazing workflow.
I have been collecting comics since the late 70's. I really enjoyed watching this. You're touched as an artist, God bless.
Awe thank you! That means a lot coming from a true fan of the arts!
This has become my happy place, this channel your videos provide a sense of tranquility and inspiration. From the music, AMAZING Artwork, and your calming ASMR voice. I can’t stop thanking you for sharing your Passion with us. Every time I watch one of your videos I get so freaking inspired to draw, granted not as good as you but all the same I’m inspired lol. Your Fifth Element drawing was 🤯🤯😱😱😱😱😱 mind blowing.
Wow, that means a lot to me! I try to find happy places all the time hahaha, glad to have you, and thank you for your kind words! xoxo

Thank u. This vid brought me bck to that fulfilling sensation when u do something u love.
Awe, that's so sweet of you to say. It means a lot to me. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the insightful view into your work and process. I LOVE watching artists work and I learn so much from it. (I'm a fellow leftie too!)
Welcome. Fellow Lefty!
Very good, thanks for sharing your process.
Thank you for watching!
I like your approach of starting where you think you're going to pick up the most momentum. It's a good idea to lean on what you're good at because a sense of confidence is often the one thing needed to get past obstacles (or at least this is what I've found). Confidence seems to be the key determining element for the level of skill you will be able to achieve at any point on the page. You can be uninspired and not enjoying yourself at all and still produce master work if you are confident enough in your abilities. But being inspired by following what excites you in a work of art can also take you very far (as you mentioned).
Oh, very well put! The process has to be sustainable, otherwise all the joy in creating art dissipates.
@@SiyaOum And I've found the more I enjoy what I'm doing, the more inspired I get and the higher my skill level goes. Anyway, great video, thanks for sharing.
Yay! lefty in the house! I rarely find lefthand artists, I feel like we lefty's have a awesome connection with each other.😀
We must stick together, hahaha! *high five.
@@SiyaOum high five!
this was like ASMR I could listen to 8 hrs of this while working.
Nothing comic about this ☺ Great looking visual novel 👍
Very good, honest explanation.
Beautiful work, i wish i could draw faces like you can !

Hello from one artist to another. Just want to say how much I love your style of artwork
Awe, thank you so much!
Beautiful work! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you too!
I am distracted by the UNICORN Gundam, PG is so massive.
Great work by the way, very inspiring
Unicorn is totally distracting, haha, thank you!
Great video. Very informative and oddly relaxing to watch you work. I tried making comics years ago. (I’m also a lefty). I still have a supply of 11x17 Bristol boards and a bunch of Japanese screentone sheets (we're talking really old school). I used to spend hours laying down and carving screentone to try to get that classic manga look.
I'm trying to remember back to years ago, when the comic boards would sit in my closet, and made me feel guilty for not pushing harder. I was a web developer for almost ten years, but kept pushing to enter the comic field. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! So glad you find this relaxing haha
Wow! Super cool and very informative.
Thank you so much!
Damn. I've been thinking of getting into comics but it looks like a pain in the butt!
This was gorgeous! Feeling super inspired

Thank you Siya for taking the time to make another remarkable video depicting your art process. I'd like to personally say that hearing your commentary and witnessing your methodology is very inspirational and helpful to my own journey trying to be a comic book pro. This is just what I needed to watch before I start my day putting pencil to paper. Appreciate you sharing. Can't wait for the next one :)
Your comment made my day, thanks so much for this! I look forward to seeing you out on the battle field of comics. My best to you!
Nice work. i appreciate how much effort goes into making these vids. Well done and thanks.
Thank you so very much!
Just discovered your channel….This is so cool to watch….I started off as an art major but ended up being a professional musician….but didn’t feel I could be committed to both at the highest level, so my art took a very long pause…..and now after making a good living for many years in music….I’m looking to get back into my art…I love your work…can’t wait to watch more…..subscribed!
great line work in the hair!😀

You're too kind, thank you!
I first saw Jim Lee use one of those miniature portable light boxes and still may get one myself eventually lol
I can't live without it. Lightboxes use to cost so much and they were cumbersome and expensive.

500 views?? this literally deserves a million _at least,_ it feels like im watching a documentary
Awe, thank you!!! That's such a compliment! Putting the videos together alone, brings me joy, I love photography and film making as well.
