It's about time to blindfold Danish Pete - he's always mocking you guys and laughing his ass off, so drag him in front of the camera and let him show his skills :-D
Just wanted to say you and Lee are my favourites because you are really really funny and knowledgeable together and fit perfectly as a team, despite you shredding on everything but the toaster. :) A close second place goes for Rabea and Pete cause when they play together they jam like they have a special musical bond. And they are funny as hell too. Love to hear you guys laugh and make stupid things together. You make so many people smile. So don't let the haters turn you down. Have a great day! :)
Should redo this vid, but with guitars from the secondhand section of Andertons, so you can get some odd ball and guitars that have been out of production for a while to really throw Rob off.
I went to Andertons a few days ago and the staff were helpful even though I didn't buy an instrument. I bought some strings though and I reckon I will spend more there in the future! PS love the videos
They should invite a few select fans to visit the store and put them up in a hostel somewhere nearby. I would absolutely LOVE to go to the store but I live in New York.
I swear I love how you guys just make your establishment such a welcoming, fun, and friendly place that basically any guitarist would wish to live. I hope maybe even in the future I can stop by! Funny and awesome video!
That's sort of a bucket list thing for me when I get a chance to visit the UK. Might be kind of hard though because all my traveling buddies aren't musicians and won't give a dusty fuck about visiting a guitar store.
The store is not like this at all, and the staff would attest. I can see it from where I am sat now in my bedroom and have known it well since the 80s.
Keep them unlisted and put the link in the description. Another channel I know, Vet Ranch, has done that at least once when performing surgery on one of the animals they have
It's mad how people in America know Andertons, I live about 30 mins from their store and only heard of them a few months ago. A guy in my office has played for four years and has never heard of this channel.
the doveston You’ll be glad you found this. These guys are 100% real musicians who give reviews and demos that you can trust and have a hilarious time doing so.
Rob gets so much abuse for so many things online and it's ridiculous. However everytime he does these blindfold challenges, he mops the floor with his haters. One of the many reasons I love blindfold challenges that he's part of...
It's insane. I have no idea how he does it, and with pedals and amps he is also often wrong, but he just picks up a guitar and can tell by the sound of the pick-ups what he's playing. The best bit is where he just KNOWS it's the Rob Scallon :D but also love his confusion with the Duesenberg.
Rob uses a lot of context clues to figure this stuff out. Since he's been playing guitar for around 30 years, I'm sure he's built up a ton of knowledge. For example, in a Gibson or not Gibson challenge, they opened a guitar case and before he touched it, he said Gibson because it smells like Vanilla. He's done that plenty of times. It's why he's usually not allowed to touch the controls. Certain companies layout their controls specific ways and it's a dead give away. A Gibson LP and an Epiphone LP don't have the same angle break on the head stock. Gibson never has a tummy cut. Neck access is a huge one.
Oisin McPhillips oeolek critisize his existence as a youtube guitarist claiming he gives nothing of value. He obviously knows his shit and has decent ears is he always right no, can his playing style be annoying at time is yeah but watch other youtubers for different playing styles. I like these two for banter more then the rest of andetons even though the others are better players, it's on screen chemistry over pure musical enjoyment.
This is the kind of thing that you could rehash over and over with different guitars/amps/pedals/other products and it would never get old...keep it coming!!!
I have not always been a rob fan. I’m so glad he’s fallen out of love with squeelies. That said, he’s really won me over through the years. I like how he’s mellowed and matured. The blindfolded videos are just scary good though. He’s like some kind of Jedi. Truly impressive rob.
This idea may be a pain in the arse, but it would be fun to watch.... Pull guitars out of everyone's personal collection, the more obscure the better ( preferably one that Rob/Pete hasn't played), Blindfold Rob and Pete and pose the questions..... 1). what is it 2). what decade/era 3). what's it worth
Today I traveled from Yorkshire for an appointment in Guildford. I was early so I called in.... even though I wasn't there to buy, the staff were great and I played some great guitars (I'm a 50 year old little more than a beginner so when I say played...) What a great, welcoming, knowledgeable and cool establishment. These videos will keep people like me coming through the door. Good job Lee and the guys
The Price is Right, i'm almost certain, started in America, as its been airing here for ~45 years, began somewhere in the early 70's, and is probably the single most popular and well known TV game show in the US (perhaps only comparable are Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy), though it hasn't been quite the same since the original host Bob Barker retired (I believe due to health issues, he was like 85 when he retired from the show) the new host Drew Carey is good and a funny guy in his own right, but he's no Bob Barker on that show.
It started 1956 in the US - so the US has had the show for 62 years. There have been periods with two daily editions of the game. UK only got the show a measly 34 years ago. Measly. Yeah, the show has a history in both nations.
The Price is Right is one of the greatest game shows of all time. In America, it's on every weekday - 11AM where I'm from. Rob is a genius. Do more of these.
Miles Parker I get where you're coming from but he's played so many different brands that must be nigh on impossible. He got the Duesenberg because he didn't recognise it and it didn't feel familiar.
phreak1118 i mean it would be nice to have them guess the price solely based on how the guitar feels and sounds. Not on their familiarity with the brands/modela
Love these videos. I've been watching them forever. My trip to England will be based around getting to visit Anderton's. You guys are very down to earth, funny, informative and great musicians. Love it!!
Rolling out of bed this morning, I caught this fun entertaining episode of the lads! Love it! Going to pickup my first Chapman guitar Ml3 Pro here in Canada as these two lads have inspired me throughout the last couple years to pickup and play the electric guitar!
Just bought a Marshall Silver jubilee mini from Andertons. Ordered it on a Sunday morning, had it on delivered on Tuesday to my gaff in Ireland. What a service and an even better amp!!!!! Holy cow !!! It’s great..... Cheers
You guys are the best literally most entertaining two guys to watch like the Chech and Chong of the guitar world. You're meant to work together for life.
You guys get more bizarre every day. 😜 And, yes, we have this rubbish game show in the US. Rob identifying those guitars was indeed amazing! BTW...the Scallon definitely had the best tone.
Hmmm, I think this was supposed to be a 'guess at the price from the quality', but Rob's just too knowledgeable about so many guitars so it felt like he just guessed the guitar then just tried to remember the price from there. Still a cool video, don't get me wrong! I just don't think it worked quite the way it was supposed to (or at least, the way I thought it'd work). I think the only way this would work that way though would be using bands and models that Andertons doesn't stock, but of course that isn't a thing that can happen.
The thing is, with the Price is Right, the contestant see's the items, the brand etc and tries to guess the price based on their knowledge of goods. Its no different than Rob knowing the guitars and guitar market - except in this case, he has to first of all try to work out what the guitar is. Its hardly wrong to work out from sound alone that the first was a Squire or that the second was a Gibson Studio because of the pots and lack of a top carve - although he was way off on their price but it was still telling that he worked out these in particular were not the 'expensive' models. If you played the Price is Right properly, Rob would have seen that the first had Squire and based a price on that, seen the 2nd was a Studio and based a price on that etc. Maybe not quite what they initially had in mind - ie guess the price based on feel and tone but to do that, they maybe should have had a variety of the same type of guitar so the only difference was in the 'quality' of sound and build.
There's a problem - price is not a reflection of quality. At the lower end the competition is fierce, so there is better representation, but the higher end you go the worse things get - no commercial enterprise can afford stock sitting around in warehouses - money costs money!
Really well done video guys! It feels so polished and dead on with the challenge rules etc., really nice! I'm really happy that you guys just still are you guys and don't get pretentious with the ever increasing production value. Big fat props! =)
Funny thing, without being picky, but apart from the telecaster they all sounded the same, they might be different to play, but all twin humbucker guitars. No real variety? Rob again showing his prowess, I just wish he wasn't a snob so all us play quietly at home guitarist could get the benefit of his knowledge. I love these videos and watch every one. Maybe we could get some advice on getting feedback quietly for sustain. Without loosing our hearing? Keep it up guys.
Just a thought, would it not be easier to let Rob sit down, blindfold him, and THEN bring the guitars in? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the ever present sense that Rob is about to fall on his face, adds tension and as Tool so eloquently put it 'It's no fun till someone dies...' Anyway, keep on stumbling...
neuk01642 I had the same thought, but then realized that Rob would probably be able to identify the guitars by smell as they entered the room one by one.
There are so many reasons I want to take a trip to the UK. Seeing where my ancestors originated, London, the Scottish Highlands, the Tube, Parliament, Big Ben, Andertons...
Rob: *touches guitar with left pinky finger* “2002 fender Mexican strat in” *sniffs body* “ice blue metallic with a rosewood fingerboard”
*licks pickups* “and its got custom shop fat 50s.”
Places right index fingers finger on volume knob - weighs exactly 6⅝ pounds
*Licks tuners* exactly £3289.76
*Taps the back of the guitar* Made by a man called Mike on a rainy February afternoon.
Gently caress' neck, "fretboard wood was cut at exactly 15:23:18 EST
lol Rob:"its got loads of random knobs that do things" Captain: "Like this room"
Made my day!
It's about time to blindfold Danish Pete - he's always mocking you guys and laughing his ass off, so drag him in front of the camera and let him show his skills :-D
Berta Griese I wanna see him do one with cheap vs. expensive strats and teles
yyyyyeeeeeeeesssssssss
absolutly
DO IT
Yeah, but he's extremely good at guessing guitars as well 😂
If Rob had a nightmare, he would be playing blindfolded a semi-hollow with a bigsby and random knobs he can't figure.
José Henrique Ha ha! Yep 100%
Just wanted to say you and Lee are my favourites because you are really really funny and knowledgeable together and fit perfectly as a team, despite you shredding on everything but the toaster. :) A close second place goes for Rabea and Pete cause when they play together they jam like they have a special musical bond. and one of those car smell refreshments
So basically he's going to play a Duesenberg while blindfolded. lol
Duesenburg
Should redo this vid, but with guitars from the secondhand section of Andertons, so you can get some odd ball and guitars that have been out of production for a while to really throw Rob off.
But if he doesn't know the age of the guitar it would be nearly impossible to guess the price considering inflation.
Rudiger Lee seems like a nice guy so it could happen
Hello my brother.
I love the big grand piano in the window!!!
Hah! I've done the same. I live too far away (USA) for anything big.
*plays one chord*
“Studio, isn’t it?”
But then guesses an insanely high price for it haha, wtf
He din't even play a chord! haha
Joris Griffioen well they are going up in value and will keep rising. Best value for your money is studio gibson Les Paul.
Next week: guess the guitar by the smell ... and, somehow, Rob will nail it.
James Oakes He did that in the Gibson vs Epiphone video already. He's evolving too quickly.
Not even being sarcastic, but that new Gibson Vanilla smell is a dead give away
"The lacquer on this guitar is only manufactured in mexico, so FENDER PLAYER SERIES"
Guess guitar by taste
I can tell from the sound, that this guitar is blue.
You guys should totally make a Andertons After Dark channel where you guys don't censor your dirty jokes and swear words.
Keep them unlisted and put the link in the description. Another channel I know, Vet Ranch, has done that at least once when performing surgery on one of the animals they have
Honestly the creative ways Rory censors them makes it even funnier :P
Good God yes...lol
Lee is an absolute natural
It's 2:30 in the morning, here in America. And yet, a new Anderton's upload shall not be ignored!
Right on, Timothy. 2:30 AM here in Arizona and I have no choice but to watch these crazies 😜
It was so satisfying to see Rob tune down so he can play the Catalyst. Hope Dorje does more soon!

But none of the criticism of Rob is about how knowledge about guitars, so I don't see how he "mops the floor" with anyone here
tusskmusic I really don’t... haters gonna hate

How come this channel not have a million subscribers already?
Rob is a Jedi Master. The force is strong with him.
If I was a first time viewer of this channel I would think this was completely setup. Rob's ability to pick guitars is incredible
And, ONCE AGAIN...Rob is astonishing at this kind of thing. Plays a half a chord..."Les Paul Studio, isn't it?" Pretty friggin crazy, man!!!
PRS sounded incredible
This is the kind of thing that you could rehash over and over with different guitars/amps/pedals/other products and it would never get old...keep it coming!!!
Can you make a video on Lee discovering 3M Post-its?
Frits van Zanten He only wants them if they come in a relic finish.
Or a vintage 1980 pack.
I’m so glad to finally see another blindfold video. Thanks. It’s my favorite type of video on Andertons TV.
I have not always been a rob fan. I’m so glad he’s fallen out of love with squeelies. That said, he’s really won me over through the years. I like how he’s mellowed and matured. The blindfolded videos are just scary good though. He’s like some kind of Jedi. Truly impressive rob.
Ohh man, I love when Pete laughs, it is like a contagious-mood-boost. Cheers guys!
Please do more of these. This was great fun to watch. Maybe have lee or Bea to play the guitars?
Finally a show I would turn on a TV for!!!!
4:53, hums Eruption dive and comeback! My favorite part!!! :D

This idea may be a pain in the arse, but it would be fun to watch....
Pull guitars out of everyone's personal collection, the more obscure the better ( preferably one that Rob/Pete hasn't played), Blindfold Rob and Pete and pose the questions.....
1). what is it
2). what decade/era
3). what's it worth
What would also be interesting is if they had to guess whose guitar it was
I love how he played his own song on his own guitar before he even guessed. So good.
I'm with the Captain here, love Duesenberg guitars.
That single cut pre is one of the most gorgeous ones I've seen...truly amazing!!!
Rob is a monster, he honestly blows me away with these challenges, and Lee is Lee he is also great
The price is right started in America and is a classic gameshow around here thank you very much!!!
Rob: (Tastes the neck finish)
3 seconds later: (Robs says the serial number)
Today I traveled from Yorkshire for an appointment in Guildford. What a great, welcoming, knowledgeable and cool establishment. These videos will keep people like me coming through the door. Good job Lee and the guys
I like this The Price is Right format.
One of my favorite videos from Andertons in a while. And that Duesenberg is awesome!!
Guys, you outdid yourselves again. Great idea for a video. I hope there are more too come.
Loved it. Do more of these because Rob never ceases to amaze me.

Longest running TV show in America
Seriously, you fkin knuckleheads...I was just trying to be informative, can you not make everything political? Give yourselves swirlies for me.
Mark Seymour Still mad about the tea huh? Sad honestly. It was just tea.
How did The Price is Right go to WW2 so fast?
The Price is Right is one of the greatest game shows of all time. In America, it's on every weekday - 11AM where I'm from.
Rob is a genius. Do more of these.
Identifies the Les Paul Studio in seconds, and then thinks it's worth £2.2k... How can one man be so right and so wrong at the same time. Pmsl.
I don't know how he couldn't have known that...
Well, considering he thinks it worth that says he thinks pretty highly of the guitar.
It means Gibson needs to double the price of that Les Paul Studio! Rob Chapman said so!
I will never stop loving these
absolutely love this channel and all the videos, thank you!
HE DOES IT AGAIN!!!!...AND PETE IN THE GUYS LAUGHING IN THE BACKGROUND IS AWESOME..ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO..THANKS
Hey from New Zealand!!
Hi!
Tim Coleman greetings from auckland
Shot bro.
I love that he got the Rob Scallon right away and that they included it in the video because it's a great guitar made for a great guitar player guy.
Solid happy Gilmore reference from chappers 1:00
This format is great the possibilities are endless
You should try some brands that you havent played before, so there's no reference. The price guess is based solely on feel and sound
Miles Parker I get where you're coming from but he's played so many different brands that must be nigh on impossible. He got the Duesenberg because he didn't recognise it and it didn't feel familiar.
Of course they wouldn’t get stuff that is not sold in andertons, they need to do business.
If you dont have a reference... how do you know what it is worth?
phreak1118 i mean it would be nice to have them guess the price solely based on how the guitar feels and sounds.

Rory for president. Also Rob is a wizard.
Just bought a Marshall Silver jubilee mini from Andertons. Ordered it on a Sunday morning, had it on delivered on Tuesday to my gaff in Ireland. What a service and an even better amp!!!!! Holy cow !!! It’s great..... Cheers
Do this video again...but with a guitarist's wife that has only ever been told 'what was paid'.
Tom you just want to see the World burn , don't you?
If she was going off what she was “told,” I figure there’d be a lot of $300 American fenders and gibsons
@@hopsonkim4952 dont worry, that Gold burst lp was only $259.99
I love this format!!! MORE PLEASE!!
Do higher or lower!
please do more of these they are so funny.😂😂
Two Rob videos in one morning = a very good day
More! More! More please! So good!
Rory going to town with After Effects.😉
You guys are the best literally most entertaining two guys to watch like the Chech and Chong of the guitar world. You're meant to work together for life.
You guys get more bizarre every day. 😜 And, yes, we have this rubbish game show in the US.
Rob identifying those guitars was indeed amazing!
BTW...the Scallon definitely had the best tone.
Damn, Rob. I see you nail these challenges all the time, but it never ceases to amaze me.
"Oh my god, is that a Bigsby?" That's what she said.
"Is that a toggle switch " thats what she said to me.
This guy who is editing the videos is a genius!
*sees the title* "huh, this'll be a good video"
*sees the intro*
"This is the. Best. Thing"
This is the best format. Just redo this video every week, with different guitars (and different people guessing).
I was here pre lawsuit
lawsuit?
It would only be pre-lawsuit if they were an accurate Japanese copy of Bob Barker.
SRV TheSheep Uhhh what
It all suddenly makes sense
Loved it! The guy is amazing.

Definitely need more of these :)
I can confirm, America does have its own version of "The Price is Right," and it is just as ridiculous and pointless.
Wasn't Aaron Paul on it before he was famous?
THE PRICE IS WRONG, BOBBY!
How dare you sir? The Price is Right is a staple of any red-blooded American’s television experience (between the ages of 18-22 or 60-100).
Or school-age children who stayed home sick.
The price is right is an iconic game show in America
I just loved the bit around 16:55. I actually laughed out loud. The kid doing the sound effects really got me with this one! 👍
360p?! Damn... Wait or watch in 360p? 🤔
I've waited for over an hour and its still 360p for me.... Not great on my 1440p large screen monitor.

Sir Squire we started it didn’t we?

Keep it up guys.
I don't even knew I would need this show on my life!!
They said the Price is Right was a crappy game show!? It’s an American institution my friends.
first thing i thought, "oh no he didnt"
Not in the uk it isnt, it was a crappy tv show lol
I love the way Rob plays
Just a thought, would it not be easier to let Rob sit down, blindfold him, and THEN bring the guitars in?
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the ever present sense that Rob is about to fall on his face, adds tension and as Tool so eloquently put it 'It's no fun till someone dies...'
Anyway, keep on stumbling...
neuk01642 I had the same thought, but then realized that Rob would probably be able to identify the guitars by smell as they entered the room one by one.
James Oakes hahaha... true.
The could mask the smell by smearing the guitars in bear shit... or Rob... I think seither would be effective
I love these series!
So someone told me if I put John Mayer in the title I'll be popular does this work for comments?
Ernie Ball is your masters name Tyler?! He is the one
John Mayer in the comment
This comment would have been better had your name been Paul Reed Smith
Ernie Ball works for everything apparently.
Rob is a wizard. What a fun way to start my day! Thanks Anderton’s!
Loved it. DO MORE !! !! !!
Rory never ceases to amaze me...
I absolutely love this video! It feels that this channel will never get old! Great job lads!
I love love love this new segment
Blindfold challenges with Rob Chapman are the most entertaining thing on UA-cam, so much fun
Completely awesome and honestly not surprising. The dude knows his guitars! Great vid!
Not even a minute in and already liked because this is a flippin brilliant idea for a video! More like this please!
