You said Jack is not a good pirate he just gets lucky, sometimes yes,but watch POTC 5 dead men tell no tales and you will find out his past and why jack is so famous and well known. If you see this comment let me know😁
31:43 Fun Fact: Johnny Depp actually fell down the stairs and improvised this scene when shooting. The looks that Orlando and Kiera give are legit as this entire "jar of dirt" scene was improvised.
Literally everything you ever read about that scene is that Johnny was just making up the jar of dirt line and both Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightly genuinely looked confused as fuck as to what he was doing. If you look closely you can see them both looking at the camera crew as if to say ‘What on earth do we do?’
Movies made with passion are always the best of their time. But time advancing doesn't worsen a quality movie. It's always the current moment. Newer doesn't equal better.
The 100 souls in 3 days bit from Jones wasn’t just some random number, it mirrored the 100 slaves that Jack freed from Becket( which I think resulted in him getting branded and having the Wicked Wench burned down; which was later brought back from the depths from Jones as the Black Pearl). On top of that, the final scene where everyone was holding candles for Jack were the same people that Jack freed.
About the sailors and the dress: sailors were famously superstitious in the past so it actually makes perfect sense they'd be that serious about the dress
You gotta realize, they didn't just fire Johnny. They banned him from the parks and buildings. They used their contracts to insist he not even dress up as Captain Jack for charity or Make a Wish or anything. He can't even go to the parks *as a guest*. He can't even have a Disney+ subscription in his own name. It was a full on divorce.
Jack is an amazing pirate. Able to outsmart everyone. Also yes he is known for having almost supernatural luck, it is commented on in almost every movie at least once
Fallen Norrington is such an awesome character. He gets to explore being mean and nasty. And the look works for him. But by far, the end reveal is one of the best ever. Barbosa is and will always be the best pirate captain. Sparrow is cool and all, but Barbosa is on another level. Despite it's moments of lunacy, the multi-way fight over the chest is incredibly well put together and easy to follow for all it's chaos. And does double duty as some character narrative as well. I love the look Jack gives Elizabeth when she chains him to the ship after distracting him with that kiss (that kiss by the way *fans self*). It's full on 100% admiration. And calling her Pirate is the highest compliment he can give at that moment.
Not gonna lie, Norrington is an underrated character. He played a solid role in the characters’ dynamic through the trilogy and he’s noble even if he’s not in the best place here.
I think its an underrated factor in these movies but the chemistry between Kiera Knightly and Orlando Bloom is incredible and really helps sell the romance
I'm glad you also think Ragetti "reading" the bible is cute Also Will saying "I won't leave without him" about Jack, I dont think he cares much, I think it's just cuz he has to snatch the compass and it's on Jack
I think there's ultimately a clear level of respect between them. It never materializes on screen because of a well written script and amazing actors saying so much with facial expressions.
@@SirKolass Did you see the fall? He lands so hard everyone breaks character. You can see him trip and tumble and he's not a stunt actor. They've all said they were caught off guard by it and Johnny laughed as he was saying he had fun with it
Well during the time period this movie and the next one takes place, really happened. It's when the authorities started putting together professional groups to hunt down pirates and make sure that no pirates remained going forward and really started cracking down on it. That's what Beckett's job is pretty much, and it's pretty accurate (supernatural stuff aside of course)
I would certainly hope so, since she's the main character. I can't remember who said it (maybe the producer? or the director?), but the trilogy is, technically, meant to be her story, not Jack's. Captain Jack Sparrow was meant to be a side character, if I remember correctly, but Johnny, being Johnny, stole the show in the first movie (as he so often does) and they capitalized on his character's popularity. Honestly, this is just my long-winded way of saying, 'I agree with you.' I love Elizabeth!
I remember watching this on cinema, damn. The betrayal of Elizabeth Swan to Jack Sparrow got me. I ship them back then when I was a kid so I feel betrayed too and got goosebumps when Jack fight the Kraken at the end. Haha this was an epic trilogy journey for me. Then a couple of years we watched "At World's End." also in cinema.
''I've got a jar of dirt'' was improvised, so the confused look on the other actors was genuine. Also, Bootstrap Bill Turner is Stellan Skarsgård, his in the MCU, Goodwill Hunting, Dune and Chernobyl, he also has sons whom are actors, one of them is Floki in Vikings Gustaf Skarsgård.
All believe he's in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, underrated performance in a stacked movie. Guy has done a lot of great stuff! Usually as a side character but all his roles are really well done that I've seen.
There is an explanation as to why Jack walks and run very peculiarly on land. Fans say that this is because he used to the way ships sway when they are in water hence why he is steady on a ship and wobbly on land.
The character designs and aesthetics of the Flying Dutchman crew were always so terrifyingly beautiful to me, they look amazingly real. Shame that many modern movies can't get that right.
So how did Barbosa return? Well, in the full movie, at 51:52 (not in this video), when Tia Dalma releases monkey Jack from his cage, he runs off to a side room in Tia's hut. On the bed, you can see a pair of boots resting on the bed. That was Barbosa (the reason monkey Jack ran in there was because he knew who it was). Tia Dalma resurrects Barbosa so the crew has a captain to get them to World's End to rescue Jack Sparrow. 😉
When Jack says ‘come over to my side’, as well as the other promiscuous things he says to Elizabeth, he means his philosophy; being a pirate. It’s not sexual, Elizabeth is too curious to not want to be a pirate and not very womanly; Jack and Elizabeth are constantly arguing over right and wrong and he’s saying eventually she’ll realise he is right 😂
Not just Elizabeth; everyone leveled up for this one. Even Norrington. One of my most treasured (heh) summer movie experiences since I got to see it with my whole family. Davy Jones remains one of my favorite villains.
Not enough people talking about the music. Zimmer’s score elevates everything and makes the movie as a whole feel huge. I love the music that plays when the kraken breaks the ship in half - really sets the feeling of helplessness and futility. I love the little musical cue that plays whenever a character mentions the key - sounds so mysterious and ominous, which is fitting. Even something as random as the loud music playing when the crew manage to get the bone cage ball over the cliff - reminds you of the urgency of the situation. I could go on and on.
This is actually something that happens with people who spend too much time at sea; they would work really similar to how Jack runs in these movies! Nothing to do with him being too silly, hah!
Yeah it's called 'Sea Legs' it's when people get used to the rocking of the ship and can keep their balance while at sea, because Jack has spent so much of his life at sea he is unsteady when on land and has a drunken walk, in contrast to when he is at sea where he is really steady and walks in a straight line while on a ship.
Not sure about the facts, but I do know the way Jack acts, talks and moves was heavily inspired by Keith Richards (Rolling Stones). So much so, Keith of course makes a cameo appearance as Jack's father in the next movie. The sailing fact can for sure be a thing though I could see happening if you spent too much time on the waves..lack of balance and coordination compared to others.
I've read about it in several sources, some factual/historical. People spent a lot of time at sea in little things we wouldn't trust today. The deck might never be steady and any contact with the deck brief, counter to where your balance might be tossed. I've seen video of people in an earthquake doing it, feet touching as they dance across the room and around things, perfectly in control as the floor is never still. People are paralyzed stumbling on the spot, until they run or hop around.
You could probably make a compilation video of all the times Mary has found various people/scenes attractive when reacting hahaha but it's understandable
WEALTH, FAME, POWER, GOL D. ROGER The King Of The Pirates obtained this and everything else the world had to offer. At his dying words drove countless souls to the sea in pursuit of dreams greater than they had ever dare to imagine. This is the time known as THE GREAT PIRATE ERA
One thing that Kiera Knightley regretted about the first movie was that she never really got to do any swordplay. Of course that was resolved in this movie. In fact she performed many of her own stunts this time.
I saw this in theaters on opening night and it was standing room only, I stood in the back with other friends. I loved Norrington’s return as a scoundrel, but one girl shouted “oh f**k you dude” when he appeared on screen.
When the preview trailers for this movie wer released and played before other movies, the entire theater erupted with screams and cheers is excitement that this sequel was coming! It’s the only time I’ve seen that in my entire life!
I just got that when they threw Bill Turner into the sea after Barbossa's mutiny, this would have been after the theft of the Aztec gold and the curse. This means Bill was undead and trapped at the bottom of the ocean. No wonder he took Davy Jone's deal. Great consideration for continuity, after the last film, these two next ones pretty much had their own story and a more slapstick tone.
The story of those movies and the execution of the story is just great through the 3 films. I think the third film is the greatest third film - end of threequels with the music and play. It is an adventure of the observer and it gets you in with the soundtrack following the story.
The cliffhanger for this movie is so good. And the many unresolved threads that they left for the next movie. I still remember the theater reaction during that final shot. Epic!
Funny thing about why Jack walks and runs funny his he's suffering from Sea Legs and is unbalanced on land. Where when he's on a ship he can walk perfectly fine.
I wasn’t just swooped by a magpie, I had a professional rivalry with one particular magpie every day when walking home from school. He would fly from two blocks away to get me. G’day from Victoria, Mary.
So, one of the biggest reasons I love Dead Man's Chest (both when I saw it in the theater and every time I see it thereafter) is because of Return Of The King. Because before this movie was even released we knew At World's End was set for 2007. And just 3 years prior we had the 3rd film of an incredible trilogy win all the Oscars and end up a massive international success. So going into Dead Man's, you knew Disney was going to pull out all the stops to try and match the epic success levels of LotR. And it didn't hurt with that ending, specifically, with the Barbossa reveal coming down those steps and the insanely epic Hans Zimmer score, this became one of the greatest endings to a film I've ever seen. Hell, I'm hyped up now! Let's Go!!!!
How can a story have a very clear-cut line between good and evil and still also have characters dancing back and forth across that line with unique goals, pushing their own agendas and making their own way through? That's what I think makes the Pirates trilogy a masterpiece of storytelling.
39:41 did you know the actors where told that an entirely different character/actor was going to come down the stairs, so they’re reactions are actually genuine
Jack said why he wouldn’t want the heart stabbed when Will was gonna open the chest and stab it. “If Jones is dead, who’s to call his terrible beasty off the hunt?”
This was the first PG-13 movie I watched as a kid. It defined my bar for how fun movies could be at that age. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I can't think of a trilogy that's more of a joy to watch.
Ind the Amber trial The Lawyer asked Johnny if he had a Jar of cokaine in his appartment And their was clearly some smily people laughing at that line =)
I act agree with you, it’s so epic and awesome, and the battle scenes are so well done, I loved it, literally going to watch pirates every year on DVD.
Orlando Bloom's copy of the script didn't include the kiss between Elizabeth and Jack, so his look is genuine surprise. Nobodies script contained the fact that Barbosa returns at the end, they all had different characters written in.

11:19 A cute sweet man? That had nothing to do with saving Jack and everything to do with what he Will wants to get from Jack.
Exactly, he needed Jack's compass to save Elizabeth
Pirates 1-3 are the best for me
#4 sucks
#5 is good but not great
But they are all worth the watch
25:21 I am the sea! One of few perfectly delivered lines in ever!!!
Yes I’m Aussie and swooped my magpies!
I love how your cat tries to get away and you pull her back. Lola I think🤔
Funny trivia. That Jar of dirt bit was completely ad libbed by Depp himself
At World's End's one of my all-time favorite moviegoing experiences, so there you go.
Just a reminder that Elizabeth was the first blonde to play jack sparrow and stab him in the back
"I thought he died!"
He did. Hence why HE'S the Captain that "knows those waters" that they need to sail to get Jack back.
You are right Barbosa did die in the last movie... that's why he is the "captain who knows dem waters" she's basically saying he came back... somehow.
Ind the Amber trial The Lawyer asked Johnny if he had a Jar of cokaine in his appartment And their was clearly some smily people laughing at that line =)
It's hard to remember seeing a movie in the cinema when you spent a decent chunk of it kneeling on the floor. 🤭
Did you enjoyed the climax at least?
I act agree with you, it’s so epic and awesome, and the battle scenes are so well done, I loved it, literally going to watch pirates every year on DVD.
I loved this one the best. That Pirate with the tentacles played Victor in Underworld.
Orlando Bloom's copy of the script didn't include the kiss between Elizabeth and Jack, so his look is genuine surprise. Nobodies script contained the fact that Barbosa returns at the end, they all had different characters written in.
Always love your videos but digging the energy at 11:15 - 11:30 !
You've got the most aggressive Magpies in the world! 🏆😁✌🏼
Here in England we also got Magpies but ours Aren't Aggressive 😂😂😭
@@melissawinn3295 Same here in the Netherlands! 🤭
If the Kraken was after Jack, why didn't it just go after him when he was trying to get away
😂😂😂😂
Mary: "That's the biggest Kraken, I've ever seen." ....wait for it..... Dirty minded Me: "That's what she said"
