I do the exercises the right way...why doesn't the glutes muscles hurt like the hamstrings or the quads? Help feel like I'm doing all of it for nothing.

    You should do gluteus minimus too

    • @bunneez
      @bunneez 6 років тому +40

      Gluteus min is directly under Gluteus med. Glut min / glut med also share the same insertion point (greater trochanter of the femur).
      Glut min is a synergist to Glut Med, meaning any exercise aimed at Glut Med is also going to target Glut min as both of these muscles work together to do the same action.

    I really like that toe pivot exersize! Gonna have to try that. Reminds me of a hip flexor exersize fitness faqs showed for help with front lever. You lay on a bench face down and the edge comes to the top of your hip. You tuck your knees down then straighten your legs and can hold a straight isometric also. Afterwards it feels like working these mescles that never get worked out. It feels nice and tingly.

    • @flowersfam3462
      @flowersfam3462 4 роки тому +10

      You don't need a gym to do these exercises. For example, you can do a glute bridge at the end of a chair or bed without the smith machine barbell and just bodyweight, if you have bands just put them above your knees or if you have dumbbells just hold them on your upper thighs. Of course, you can do the other exercises without bands or weight just use your bodyweight. There are inexpensive bands you can buy. You can also use the edge of your bed or a chair for the single leg squats. Put a band right above your ankles to do the side to side steps or use no weight, just stay in a low squat at all time while you do this exercise. Hope this helps. 🤗

    yes that is true that the sidelying hip abduction ( in the study i read it was called calm exerise) does activate the glute medius ( in relation to activation of TFL) HOWEVER i would not use this exercise as it is not functionally training glute medius and would only use this exercise in a hospital setting or with people who need to activate their glute medius but other exercises were not appropriate
    I would suggest crab walks with theraband, bridges and squats as a better alternative to glute medius exercises

    Just to be clear ; Any man (mate) that don’t like the way you are , shouldn’t be judging your body. But I appreciate a lady that cares about her self!

    love the fact that you're using peer reviewed research to justify the effectiveness of the exercises on the target area. I know proper lit. review takes a lot of time and effort being a researcher myself, this is great! totally subscribed.

    I was doing the hip thrust but since I don’t have any equipment I tried using my 1 year old. I made him sit on me. Lol and boy, after the exercise I can feel my butt burn! That exercise is very effective!

    OMG you are amazing!! This is just the channel I needed to push my glute workout to the next level. I love videos that explain the science behind the movements, that way I can better modify the exercise to fit my own body and my own goals, long and short term. Subbed and liked!!

    Everything about this video was very interesting and helpful for me, but I am from Mexico and I usually use automatic subtitles to understand better and I recommend that you to update them because in the part where you mention the activation of the medium glute in the hip thrust it says you can't tweak it to activate this muscle instead of you can tweak the exercise to activate it. I know it's something that it's not related to the quality of the video because as I said it is a very professional and good video but that little detail can confuse somebody else who is using the subtitles cuz there is a big difference between the word can and can't. But besides that little mistake that is not your fault at all I consider this material very important and congratulations for your Channel I am definitely subscribed to your Channel.
