I've tried so many cold turkeys, lasted around 2 days tops. I've just accepted moderation is best, and it's best not to overthink what I'm eating/what I'm missing out on
I went cold turkey, and in a successive unbroken time line, found out that a hurricane was heading my way, dealt with the hurricane, downed trees, 6 days with no electricity, 8 days with no internet or phone, a one week visit from my difficult in laws and didn't cave in. My dad in law literally held a homemade lemon meringue pie 6 inches from my face. I stood up and left the room. It's hard but its getting easier.

My first detox from sugar was at 28, almost 40 years ago. I allowed myself to eat a small apple when the urge hit. Some days I ate 4. With what I know now, not the best. But it kept me from running to the vending machine at work. I am an addict who battles my sugar demon regularly.
That is all I did was quit sugar cold turkey and since then I went from a L to a S shirt size and dropped 5 pant sizes, all in four months. That was last May and since then I’ve maintained and now have some sugar but never to the levels I used to have before. The thing I found is that I had a lot of room to reduce my sugar. I used to drink soda everyday and had a sweet tooth for kit kats and other candies. So simply cutting these out was bound to lead to weight loss and it did. Some people who saw my progress wanted to try the same but they simple didn’t have the excess sugar that I used to consume so there wasn’t much for them to cut out. I guess in their case the problem is carbs which I don’t think people associate with sugar. The pastas and starchy foods etc.
Yes. I just realized I HAVE cut sugar AND things like sweet potatoes and tinned beans (savoury sweet things) and that is causing a massive detox but I'm still addicted to my (no added sugar) cereals like spelt flakes and bread (pure rye and spelt)+ some rice. No sugar, mostly complex carbs in fact, but I'm totally addicted to those, and I;m wanting to transition to keto so this is going to be so hard for me.
@@lee48lee68 In case you just abstain from refined sugar, not from carbs in general: dip dates in some good (sugar-free) cocoa-powder. Super tasty, nearly like chocolate and in moderation even healthy.

When I quit sugar my health improved almost immediately and I felt better. Cholesterol and triglycerides dropped into the normal range and the doc took me off high blood pressure meds. Problem is I relapsed and I'm back on sugar. Cholesterol and triglycerides are back up and I'm back on high blood pressure meds. This video will give me the kick start I needed, I'm going to quit sugar, this time for good.
I found that my addiction to sugar was more psychological than chemical. I was addicted to sweetness, whether sugar or other sweeteners, but the artificial sweeteners triggered a sugar binge. I'd be good all day, but when I tasted the Diet Pepsi I immediately turned toward the deserts. I had to break from artificial sweeteners to break the addiction to sweetness. After a few weeks without any sweet foods I was able to use artificial sweeteners without triggering a sugar binge. Hard weeks, but life is better on the other side. The psychological struggle takes longer than the chemical withdrawal symptoms. I realized I could have no self-respect or pride if I let myself be at the mercy of a self-destructive habit. That gave me the stubbornness to see it through.
Thats great Ted. Im about to embark on cutting out sugar, cold turkey. No sweeteners either! I have alot of weight to lose, and im addicted to sweets. From Australia
For me, quitting sugar is much more difficult than quitting cigarettes. The withdrawals are worse. It makes me feel weak and sickly even if I'm not and like you said, willpower can be unreliable. I hope to also break this addiction someday... 🙁

For someone who’s had pretty much 60g + ( not inc breads etc and sauces) of added sugar a day, I decided taking the cutting back approach and instantly on the first day I did not crave at all. I done a ketogenic diet before for a week and lost a lot of weight. The idea of a new challenge was exciting for me, and I’m thinking maybe I have reached a plateau in my weight loss because I was eating within calories but not losing weight and working out everyday. I’v given up pot, smoking, nicotine supplements, caffeine and now I will control my sugar. It’s not hard at all, I’m starting to feel good already. And out of the 30g that I’v allowed myself a day, 4-10 g will come from pastry/bread. Heroine can kill you instantly and sugar won’t, a healthy moderation is key rather than extreme short term approach.
She is totally right.. I could quit sugar with a will of power for 3 entire months with no sugar no honey no kind of sweaters and after 3 months I ate cake in my husband's birthday and it led to keeping to eat more and more sweets everyday over a whole month.. I will put this as a goal for 2020 to exclude sugar from my life:) when I quit sugar, I felt better, lost weight, had great energy at work, slept better, and didn't get sick.. but when I went back, I got sick, felt dizzy and drowsy at work, had insulin drop.. and felt uncomfortable..
Hows it going? Still off the sugar? Wishing you all the best! Yes if you get off track simply remember all the benefits of NOT eating sugar. And remember its not "Will Power" its "Conviction" if you remind yourself of the destruction SUGAR causes you can not just resist SUGAR but you can call it what it is A poison! Take a tesspon of sugar and look at it and CALL IT POISON,,,, now you have "CONVICTION "... And remember this RRR. Resist Replace Remember! Disclaimer DO NOT DO THIS ITS JUST A MENTAL PICTURE TO SEE---: 2 jars, one with powder sugar and one jar with Decon rat poison , now not knowing which jar is the rat poison or the SUGAR are YOU going to chance your HEALTH on a little fake sugar pleasure ? Now PICTURE you walking away Now you lose your sugar desire!
Dr. Becky, you are a real God send for so many people who need help with this. I am at the end of my second week without sugar and not only am I alive still, lol, but not even thinking about it anymore! I am so looking forward to beating this drug and sticking with Keto; feeling energetic and optimistic eating just real food!
I'm quitting sugary foods starting tomorrow and eating clean. The only sugars I'll have will be natural sugar from fruit which we need to avoid low blood sugar levels. More greens for me, today is the last day I'll treat myself to sugary stuff before cutting it out tomorrow.
I like those in the bottle. Green Goodness I think was the name........ guess I should check for sugars or make my own. I have a juicer but is a pain to clean. :( Not sure if my blender could handle a smoothie but can at least try it and keep the fiber.
i use like a 62% dark chocolate to help me get back on track. seems to help when i've fallen off the wagon. always been a milk chocolate fan so at first it didn't even seem sweet. it was kind of bitter. but now it really helps curb cravings and i love the taste of it
Going cold turkey is what did it for me. I did it by going keto as well and I feel like that helped even more as when you’re in ketosis, your brain chemistry changes even more dramatically and reduces cravings marginally higher than just cutting out sugar itself.
Except for some fruit I quit processed sugar last November cold turkey. I have an obsessive/compulsive personality and cutting back is not an option. I lost 40+lbs by February and haven't gained it back, have had very little processed sugar since. Your videos supplement my efforts to stay off sugar but must say I haven't had to force myself to resist because I see sugar as good tasting poison and who wants to consume poison. Your videos help with my vigilance for staying away from this destructive substance. Thank you for the help
This video is a MUST SEE, it's so accurate and understandable. I've been seriously addicted to sugar, especially in chocolate, so much that I would get serious symptoms if I didn't get my daily fix, and through the past 30 years I've tried both ways to get out of that addiction, and I've found that going cold turkey is the absolute best way, because when you're addicted to something, even the tiniest bit of that drug will set off the whole addiction, just like you describe. But it wasn't until I found the Atkins diet and went keto, that I've been able to really succeed. It made it SO much EASIER, and I've had very little to none of the usual withdrawal symptoms. I can only recommend it to anybody struggling with addiction.
Day four of no sugar. Already feal much less blotting, 5 lbs gone, stiffness in legs 80 percent better and my pants feel less tight. Down side. Felt a little more sluggish but I think that will change soon. Bottom line wish I did this years ago. I'm doing a 14 day no sugar low carb thing and I think I'll be doing it much much longer.
I have been no sugar low carb for about a month now. I used 3 sugars in my morning coffee. Then I went to using sugar free pancake syrup in my coffee, (tastes a lot better than the sugar substitute packets). Now I just use two hazelnut creamers. I may cut that in half soon.
I seem to get addicted to anything going. Some people say about addictive personality. I don't know? I managed to get away from Heroin and alcohol after being addicted for 22 years. Maybe im swapping it for something else to fill a void. Constant twitchy legs and sweaty armpits but cold body. I also think I suffer from low dopamine levels and serotonin levels. Definitely a lose connection somewhere in my head! God give me strength 🙏🙏😇
I went cold turkey the week before Christmas 2019 & craved it daily until I decided to eat sugar again 7/4/19. So, I have decided to just cut back a little at a time until I'm sugar-free again & hoping I won't crave it as much.
Dr.Becky love your shirt. So true what you are saying!!!!!!! When I try to do the sugar free desserts I just want more! For me I have to stay away. Diet Coke doesn't seem to cause me a problem. Worse thing I can do is watch UA-camrs doing lowcarb desserts that triggers me! Thanks for video. thanks Jennifer 😃
Hi. I’m on my husband’s iPad, but I loved Coke’s. At 35 I had a batch of kidneys, very painful. My Dr. told me no colas, nuts or chocolate, after 11 lithotripsys , and almost dying from sepsis due to kidney infection caused by stones. I quit. It may take a month or so, but good results. Good luck. I started Keto today.
THis is wonderful. I have been looking for this kind of advice for a long time. Thank you very much!!! I am soo addicted to sugar. I've followed a low carb diet for better than 20 years, but keep falling off the low carb wagon every few months and so regret it. I'm getting older now and when I put sugar into my body anymore, it's debilitating.
After months of thinking about it, I finally said, "OK, I'm done." No sugar, no bread (for a while), and no caffeine. I'm on day 2 and it is finally showing up in my energy and moods, but I'm 100% committed to making it to Saturday and then I'll commit again. My intention is to do this until I lose the pounds I want to lose, and then allow myself reasonable amounts of whole grain bread again. I've done this before, but then I use sugar as a mood stabilizer and end up causing more problems than I had when I began. Absolutely know myself cold turkey is the best route for me. Thank you, Dr Becky.
Dr. Becky, I just wanted to tell you I appreciate your expertise SO MUCH. I've listened to countless videos, and I've also signed up for your 0123 plan and coaching program. Now I'm not saying I've yet started the 0123 plan, BUT I am following your guidelines about stopping sugar, eating healthy greens and filling in with healthy fats. (I've lost six pounds in the last week, by the way, but that's probably not a REAL good measure, because I had company right at the time I was signing up for the program, so I was eating "company" food that I would not normally eat.) Another thing I learned is that I should NOT be using Splenda, so I've stopped that. (I have hypothyroidism.) But what I find SO amazing is I am not STARVING all the time like I was before. I felt like I was eating small amounts (of JUNK, I guess - ha!) all day long, but I was always starving. Now I'm not! I also got some of the electrolyte drops you recommended and have been using those. Anyway, I just really appreciate you. I don't feel like you're pushing the latest fad. You just KNOW YOUR STUFF, and you're so helpful to me. Thanks, Annette
Hi Annette, thanks for your comment and welcome to my coaching program! I am happy to hear that you're already starting to experience some of the benefits...many more to come :). I wish you the best!
I love your succinct and simple way of explaining things. Special thanks for not rambling on and on and on too. Sugar is a terrible drug and next to impossible to overcome. I have a long road ahead of me.
Thanks doc' I've just seriously started quitting in 2019! thanks for all the tips it's so important to not eat sugar thanks for the upload! Love from toronto, Canada
I have reduced the amount of sugar after a period of fasting, and stopped adding it to some foods. Instead of sweet porridge, I eat salted with pork, or just with milk and butter, and don't use sugar to make carrots juicy. There are products that need some sweetening. One of them is COFFEE. Otherwise I need to stop drinking it, but I like it. Currently I'm adding a teaspoon to 350 ml of drink with milk, which is barely enough, but doesn't overpower the flavor. I used to add 3 times as much and drank several mugs out of habit, which I have now limited to coincide with a meal, and I drink more plain water with salty foods instead. Not eating any cakes saves money. Can't say that I've had "shakiness" due to lack of sweetness. It did happen from glucose when I ate only carbohydrates without meat and fat, and that was what I reached for to feel better, not sugar.
Thank you Dr. Becky, you mentioned that taste buds will change and I think that is why I don’t seem to like the taste of many vegetables. I need to heed your advice and give this a try.
I've been doing low carb for a year.. lost 50 pounds. I try to do IF 16/8 most days.. but I do bulletproof coffee in AM with non sugar sweetener.. I also love egg and cream cheese dishes with some sweetener.. So my point is that I don't get the issue with something sweet? I like wine, I'm not an alcoholic, I like sweet things but I don't think I'm a sugar addict. Being healthy is my goal and I believe we can achieve that and still enjoy fat, sugar, meat, veggies.. being in ketosis isn't my goal either.. by doing low carb and IF I believe I'm in ketosis at least 40 to 60 percent of the time, and that works just fine. Doing it this way.. makes everything much easier to do. I wonder if I'm just not a person who gets addicted? My daughter definitely felt sick after just a couple of days just trying to cut carbs.. but she's had addition problems, so like many things we have to do what works for us. In general I agree with point if clip, but I don't want to cut all sweets.. and I don't believe it's going to make much difference in my health.. but having some sweetener in my morning coffee will make me a lot happier in the life I live.
Then why are you commenting here .... ok so you have convinced yourself it's not a problem....the rest of us are trapped and figuring out healthy ways to make important changes but understand if the side effects are normal. My family dr is not interested in helping me change my life he is interested in billing my insurance for the inevitable outcome
@@anniesue4456 you're over reacting to my comment.. I understand that if your feeling Ill and no one seems to hear you it can be frustrating .. but my comment is for folks who don't have a firmed up belief based on their own research to let them know that there is no one answer.. so they can listen.. and discern that this clip is only one opinion. We all have to do our own research and pick and choose what works for you. The first two min of this clip about "sugar is a drug" I totally agree with.. so if I didn't make that clear I hope this corrects it. But!!! I also think some people become addicts and some don't. I can have a little sweetener (not sugar), it makes eating healthy easier for me.. but I'm not addicted, I know many are. We should start to think of sugar similar to how we view alcohol. I don't think most folks need to be made to feel guilty for eating a bit of cake anymore than having a glass of wine at dinner... This lady is extreme, but for some . Maybe you... Her answer is your answer... But.. viewers need to understand there is a medium. Hope you ignore doctors that don't listen to you, I don't take anyone's opinion.. I form my own and do what's best for me.
Good video. I wonder why more of this is not stressed when we are taught about nutrition. Yes, I can eat healthy all day and then towards end of day as I get worn down from stress and the usual PIA stuff in life, i then turn to sugary stuff for instant energy and feel-good. I have reduced sugar intake though so that is progress! I have less sugar cravings on the wknd, I guess from being away from corporate stress. I do not think I have ever gone a day without sugar...unless I couldnt eat due to a stomach virus or something.
I'm excited to watch this video. Will have to wait till tonight after work 👍 I was extremely addicted to candy and have gone 3 weeks now without eating any. I still have an occasional cookie or brownie but I really don't like those, so it's going to be easy for me now that I've gotten over the candy withdrawals. It was mostly mental though and I just had to tell myself No, don't do it. I did have headaches and low energy at first, now I feel more clear mentally and don't have a bloated stomach anymore.
I quit sugar but I do have honey on my toast and eat fruit . I ate loads of sugar every day and had horrible withdrwal symptoms but I am good now . I made a desicion not to eat sugar . There is a huge power in making a decision
I used to drink at least 9 to 12 cans of Coca-Cola a day and one day I decided no more. I went cold turkey on them for a good 2 years and it was the best decision ever. Over the Christmas period, I treated myself to a can of Coke-Zero which makes no different to regular Coca-Cola really minus the fancy name. The taste is foul and I have no craving for it so I think in regards to that side of things, I have been successful. I will not drink them unless it's a special occasion but I'd rather drink something else instead. I now drink flavored water which have the sweeteners Sucralose and Acesulfame K but was told by a family friend that they are alright to consume. I'm still working on going turkey with other sugary things such as chocolate, cake, you know the drill; but overall I am feeling better and healthier and have dropped a bit of weight! It's awesome! :)
Becoming sugar-free is really tricky. I have been on it for the last 2 years and it's been an on-and-off tussle throughout. if I don't use a substitute I miss out, especially on those hot beverages and if I do, I lose out on my resolve to abstain from the whole gamut of stuff that's been a weakness.
I’ve cut “obvious sugars” from my diet. So no cake, candy, sports drinks, soda, and even alcohol. But I haven’t cut out carbs. Probably making the withdrawal symptoms last much longer.. but considering I’m on day 5 and lost 6lbs, that could be making me feel pretty bad too
I quit sugar for a whole months after a decade of severe addiction. I ate some fruit and a sugar free drink and the addictive behaviour came right back. I basically have to cut out everything including refined carbs to cut this addiction. i'm trying to go for 14 months since that is the time that it takes to apparently heal an addicts brain mostly.
Quit cold turkey and the worst symptoms did not last 3 days but rather two weeks. The restless legs and depression I did not anticipate. It’s been 3 months and I feel amazing. But my cravings are intermittent, I though they would subside altogether by now.
Sugar the most basic to cut out but bread and oats I do so miss not being able to fill up on , eggs are nice and cheap and am relaxing the purse strings buying Salmon steaks , time restricted eating is a great do able self discipline thing to automatically ensure proper eating without labouring over journal counting calories which I did successfully for weight loss without IF
I started two weeks ago. I did various guided meditations and "quit sugar" hypnosis videos that I found here on you tube. The first week I did two a day 30 to 40 minutes each, the second week I did one a day. I have not had a bit of withdrawal issues. I even quit using Stevia in my iced tea. Even though I'm not a drinker, another bonus was that I lost any desire to drink alcoholic beverages. I'm pretty happy with the results. I can see muscles in my abs that I couldn't see two weeks ago. I got a lot of energy. Cool.
When you do you mean cutting out fruit also. I stopped bread, pasta, all flour. I eat meat, veggies and fruit...no sauces, except sourcream, butter and cream cheese. Lost 10 lbs in 30 days
I think I have to say good bye one addiction at a time. The last being pop. That has been the love of my life for about 40 yrs. I'm down to about 16oz a day.
Compensate the lack of sugar with fat , I made a chocolate myself full of nuts, coconut oil and shredded coconut , the best , no more desire for sugar since I eat a piece of it everyday

The pastas and starchy foods etc.
westfield90 same here.,
Hello. Did you replace your sugar with fats(meat , sugarless peanut butter?)
wow!
Well done man, loadsa respect
I’ve been sugar free since January 2017. I can’t even watch this video because it makes me remember how much I loved chocolate.
@Steve Hayes -You’re right. I like milk chocolate though.
@@lee48lee68 In case you just abstain from refined sugar, not from carbs in general: dip dates in some good (sugar-free) cocoa-powder. Super tasty, nearly like chocolate and in moderation even healthy.
Dr. Becky you just gorgeous in purple. Soft spoken and kindhearted. I love your kind and soft way of talking. Lovely hands. What you say gathers full attention.
Be healthy be happy,

Flattery is sweet food for those who can swallow it. ~ Danish Proverbs😉

Thanks for posting. All true in my experience. Nine weeks no sugar and down 25 lbs.
You poor thing
Best of luck
Ted Stevens Hi Ted. I respect you for quitting. You’ve encouraged me. Thanks for sharing.
Definitely cold turkey.
For me, quitting sugar is much more difficult than quitting cigarettes. The withdrawals are worse. It makes me feel weak and sickly even if I'm not and like you said, willpower can be unreliable. I hope to also break this addiction someday... 🙁
you can
I feel calmer when listening to her voice
I have passed through that sugar withdrawal symptoms. it was difficult at the beginning but I gradually limiting my carb intake as well. Dr Becky has given us lots of knowledge and motivate me to lead myself tosugar free lifestyle. Thanks a million Dr Becky.❤️
Sugar IS a drug... I've been off sugar for 2and a half months, did cold turkey, along with no carbs, started low carb food plan! I'm a hope to die sugar addict with a very high tolerance for it! So no sugar for 2&1/2 months, healthy low carb food plan, eating clean and healthy, veg, moderate protein, fats, down 30 lbs and never felt better !!! Thank goodness for Dr. Becky who makes freedom from food addictions and gives us healthy life choices with love and understanding❤️❤️❤️❤️so grateful!!! With love, Sue
I just started my journey,day 11
Thank you Becky, for adding your personal struggle with sugar addiction...it gave me the added hope I needed to understand that it is attainable! Your videos are excellent!
I was sugar free then I was hit with several stressful events in a row and now I am hooked again.
Boy it's not easy
Try and reset don't be to hard on yourself
I've done it before and oh boy gotta tell you I felt great. I had tons of energy and my eyes looked so healthy, but then I fell off the wagon again. Oh well, I'm trying again. I had my coffee without sugar this morning so it's a start. Thanks for all your advice. :)
NO sugar in 2019! here I come!
thank you DR
how you holding up?
@@anomalous34 well, to be honest,
I ate sugar from 26 till today 31, but that's okay I'm gonna start all over again from tomorrow

Off of sugar for 2 years and 3 months. Best decision I ever made where food is concerned. Took me 3 days to stop totally...
Did u go cold turkey?i realise if I ate o sugar at all,I’m less likely to binge than if I ate one small piece of chocolate
I so wish I had seen this 30 days ago- it so would have helped me understand what was going on when I got off of sugar! Lol 😆 I’m on Day 31 of No Sugar and I am sooooo thrilled! Thank You 🙏
How many days was it difficult at the beginning?
@@beccathering7035 I think it was about a week or so. They got super easy after that.
I seriously struggle with this so so badly. I keep trying and failing. Thank you so much Dr.
Hi Mariam, I wish you the best for a sugar-free 2020!
@@beckygillaspy Thank you wish you the best of luck in the new year and really enjoying your useful videos!
I had a hard time quitting cold turkey. It's so good the day after Thanksgiving.
Quit cold turkey. Fell off the wagon. Went from perfect skin to breakouts again. Sleep is again disrupted. Back into no sugar
This channel is the most understanding of human nature and the most rational of all the library of nutrition books that I have 😊
Thank you, Maria!
I'm quitting sugary foods starting tomorrow and eating clean. The only sugars I'll have will be natural sugar from fruit which we need to avoid low blood sugar levels. More greens for me, today is the last day I'll treat myself to sugary stuff before cutting it out tomorrow.
I found having green smoothies stopped me wanting sugary foods..
COOL!!! Thanks for sharing
“Good tasting poised” what a helpful way for me to reframe!
Well put
I tell people I'm off sugar and they think I'm nuts!
I will definitely not use splenda for my coffee or tea anymore. Thanks so much for the advice. From Kingston Ontario Canada
I have been no sugar low carb for about a month now. I used 3 sugars in my morning coffee. Then I went to using sugar free pancake syrup in my coffee, (tastes a lot better than the sugar substitute packets). Now I just use two hazelnut creamers. I may cut that in half soon.
Fat Chance: Beating the Odds Against Sugar, Processed Food, Obesity, and Disease that book is a must if you want to stop being obese.
Imogen Jennings , get some magnesium for the twitchy legs. For the cold body and sweaty armpits have your thyroid hormone levels checked too.
That's why you can't "cut down" on cigarettes. Cold Turkey is the only way!
For you best speak for yourself as we can’t all have same experience
I went cold turkey the week before Christmas 2019 & craved it daily until I decided to eat sugar again 7/4/19. So, I have decided to just cut back a little at a time until I'm sugar-free again & hoping I won't crave it as much.
Having an 11 year..it's so difficult to cut out sugar. And we're innundated with sugar everywhere we look. It's frustrating.
Thanks, Jennifer! I agree. Low-carb desserts should not become a crutch.
Thank you Dr for being honest .... you said ... you have to just do it and make it happen ... you are right .. in my heart you are right
THis is wonderful.
I eat fruit for dessert and that helps me stay off processed sugar
Thats smart
Thanks doc' I've just seriously started quitting in 2019! thanks for all the tips it's so important to not eat sugar thanks for the upload! Love from toronto, Canada
Impossible to cut back on sugar, cold turkey is the best method.
I’m not really a sugar addict, but I’d like to become more serious in my sporting career and this seems like a way to better my fitness
I haven’t had sugar for 3 weeks the first 3 days was really bad
I have to seriously get on board with this but there is a box of brown chocolate cigars that are calling my name!
I saw that little dog! Your videos are very helpful.
I love hearing all the great information you put out. Keep it coming. Thank you !
Thank you Dr. Becky, you mentioned that taste buds will change and I think that is why I don’t seem to like the taste of many vegetables. I need to heed your advice and give this a try.
Heroin addicts are prescribed methadone in order to ease out of heroin addiction. I used sugar substitutes to quit sugar. That worked best.
2021 - 2022 sugar free here I come ! Thanks for the video
Great info Dr Becky just have to do it such a addiction sugar in lots of things thanks fr caring
Can you do a video on high protein vs high fat? Which is better for sustainable weight loss?
I'm excited to watch this video. Will have to wait till tonight after work 👍 I was extremely addicted to candy and have gone 3 weeks now without eating any. I still have an occasional cookie or brownie but I really don't like those, so it's going to be easy for me now that I've gotten over the candy withdrawals. It was mostly mental though and I just had to tell myself No, don't do it. I did have headaches and low energy at first, now I feel more clear mentally and don't have a bloated stomach anymore.
Thank you, excellent video. Very informative. Some things havent before. I will take your tips
I quit sugar but I do have honey on my toast and eat fruit . I ate loads of sugar every day and had horrible withdrwal symptoms but I am good now . I made a desicion not to eat sugar . There is a huge power in making a decision
Thank you for this helpful video. What about eating fruit? There is sugar in it. Can I eat fruit? Or better just vegetables and salad?
I think fruit is ok as long as you don't go overboard on it. Berries are good for you in that they have fiber & antioxidants.
Scary video, Maddie in the background kept me calm.
Very nice calm videos, well explained and interesting. New subscriber from England.
Probably making the withdrawal symptoms last much longer.. but considering I’m on day 5 and lost 6lbs, that could be making me feel pretty bad too
some study said carbs will be less if and if rice, water remove on 80% cooked, with coconut oil and keep on 2 hour fridge before devouring.
Watch the grapes too, gateway fruit 🍇, I’m not kidding
I quit sugar for a whole months after a decade of severe addiction. I ate some fruit and a sugar free drink and the addictive behaviour came right back. I basically have to cut out everything including refined carbs to cut this addiction. i'm trying to go for 14 months since that is the time that it takes to apparently heal an addicts brain mostly.
I think all at once is best for me because even small amounts cause cravings for me.
Once again an extremely inspirational presentation - thank you so much. x
Great job, thank you for the information
Cool.
Thank you so much, Dr. Gillaspy.
Thanks you Dr
You are awesome

Thank you Dr. Thanks to You i'm. Doing 40 days in the time. So i fell great. Thank you so much .
Thanks for this, Dr Becky! Have a great day!
I quite sugar 20 days ago and I feel so emotional every day, any tips?
What s that mean? I have stopped eating sugar 2 weeks ago.
I too stopped...depressed
I started experiencing anxiety for the first time.
Compensate the lack of sugar with fat , I made a chocolate myself full of nuts, coconut oil and shredded coconut , the best , no more desire for sugar since I eat a piece of it everyday
No sugar, no sugar substitutes,
no fruit for 4th day. Feeling good.
After 30 seconds I needed a Snickers
