Welcome to my Flight & Trip report!
I flew aboard Air Canada's Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner from New Delhi, India to Vancouver, Canada. This video showcases my full journey from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport to Vancouver YVR. Alongside a usual trip report, I also decided to showcase my RT-PCR experience at Delhi airport and Canada's automated Immigration upon arrival at Vancouver. Overall both AC 44 and AC 45 are good flights and among the quickest ways to travel between Western-Canada and India. AC's service on flights to India is also much superior than its service on transatlantic European flags. I do however wish that this flight had better departure timings from Delhi. Departing earlier or later would be beneficial as current Delhi departure times ensure a solid sleepless night. Receiving a breakfast as meal #1 would also be more suitable than dinner. Overall I still recommend this flight if you are traveling to between India and Western Canada.

Hey could you tell me the total fare of the round trip ?
@@tanveersingh8596 We traveled during the peak holiday season. Total trip was 5 weeks. Tickets were selling for 2800-3300 Canadian.
During the off season and even right now you can find them for 1300-1800 CAD
Thanks for all your efforts

Nice video! The amenities seem nice. But I was looking forward to the contents of the snack cart- disappointed to see pretzels and buns there. Some kurkure packs would have been so nice there 😜
I recently saw an Air India video for the same route. They had namkeen packets, mini samosas & coleslaw sandwich as their mid-flight snacks. I need to fly AI next time 😂✌️

Unfortunately you are not allowed to film at Delhi Airport Security area. Meanwhile the lounge is only accessible to business class passengers :(

You guys from India, bring a lot wealth to Canada, by buying gas station, grocery store and also push the economy. That's good.
What was the check-in baggage allowance? Do they still allow us to check-in only first bag for free on an economy ticket?
Typically its 23KG/bag and you are typically allowed 2 bags/passenger on the India route. Here are more details www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/plan/baggage/checked.html#/
You should have increased the length of the video by including Vancouver airport, taxi & outside enviornment etc.
Thank you for watching! Will do next time :) Unfortunately it was dark out this time and I didn't actually leave the airport as I was connecting onto a Calgary flight :(
Excellent trip report. Air Canada can do better with their food service. Serving dinner items at breakfast time is ridiculous.
we often are used Dubai route for travel Canada it so long. It is possible that as air Canada land Karachi to pick up passengers. I think it is impossible. Please tell ticket price. Congrats to have so good travel facility.
What are the latest covid related rules for Canada? I’m flying early March. Do we still needed to be tested?
Yes you still need to be tested as per the latest rules. The test can however be conducted at any ICMR approved lab in India.
Brother cpuld u suggest the bets flight for edmontom ?? This will be my forst international travel n any clue on transit visa ??? N checkin luggae di we need to di at all stops???
Great report sir. I find the English to Hindi translation done by AC staff is funny. Just literal. No logic. I think they can learn techniques, proper pronounciations from Indian carriers like Air India, Indigo, etc.
You are right! ACs staff does not do a very good job at making themselves appealing to those passengers who actually require hindi as a necessity.
My experience on British Airways has been better in that department. On my previous BA flights they always seem to have some proper Indian crew on-board.
Maybe because there is no indian crew in air canada
@@vyomps how long does it take to travel from India to Quebec?
Excellent trip report. Which camera do you use to take the video ?
Thank you! I used a GoPro Hero 8.
What route did this flight take? West over Europe or East over China then the Pacific?
Anyone who is going to vancouver from dekhi via london on 26th march
I flew from Toronto to Delhi ! They starved me to death. Hardly any food and small portions. Hopefully returning they give proper meal for the price of ticket they charge
The price of the food pillow and blanket were previously paid I mean it was included in the tickets right?
Yes :)
Whiskey served in Economy or Premium Economy served?
Food looks improved..
I traveled from Frankfurt to Toronto 20 yrs back..by Air Canada..Very less food served..Hosresses were Arogant..
Damn 14 hrs flight?? My legs would pain if I sit for too long😂
Hahahaha thank you for watching :)
I am coming soon Canada 😎👍😎
You guys from India, bring a lot wealth to Canada, by buying gas station, grocery stores plus, and also push the economy. That's good.
I travelled on the same route on 6th October on last year and the food menu was still the same
Yeah the menu on Air Canada stays the same for long periods of time unfortunately :(
I flew this route back in 2019 and the menu was also the same for the most part. There were however Samosas given instead of the cold sandwiches back then.
@@vyomps can we ask ask them for burgers or fried rice or they give by their choice?

Is there need to show booster injection report while traveling from India to Canada. Please tell me.
No booster requirement yet. 2 doses are enough.
Do we need to fill Ariivecan app before the depature even now?
Yes! Arrivacan still needs to be completed as per the current regulations. That might change however.
did any one think it as a msfs video just after watch the thumbnail......?
anyway good video.
Hello sir video dekhi apki help me
Tourist vise mere pass Canada uska liya immigration kon kon doumant lena hai and RT PCR report hum bhar se la skt hai plz help
Need for more specifications for food meal
Anyone travelling from Delhi to yyz on 1st April by air india
Does they charge extra for the food or is it included in the ticket price?
It is included on all Air Canada international flights.
Do we ask for more food ? Like i assumed that you asked extra lunch
So you only get 1 tray per person which comes with 1 meal only. I was basically filming my co-passengers meals to show all the options :)
You can however try to ask for more food. Sometimes they have extras.
Aap ne video me yeh nahi bataya ki kon se fly zone se hum guzar rahay hai.exmple arab zone Africa zone Us sea etc.not like good

HOW MUCH TICKET COSTS YOU?
Cam we connect air india from amritsar to dehli to toronto??without facing issue of domestic luggage weight.
One way tickets can cost anywhere between $800-2000 depending the time of year. It is hard to predict what the price will be and they fluctuate a lot. We paid $3000+ for a round trip. However during off season, tickets sell for as low as $1500 roundtrip.
Yes you can! As long as you book your entire journey under one PNR.
@@vyomps Indian rupees tell Me cast
Whats that music thats playing during boarding? I hear that music on a flight from Calgary to Toronto on a Air Canada 787-9 Dreamliner but never found out what it was :/
Hey man I have been trying to find the music myself! Sadly have been unable to do so :( AC's old boarding music was called 'born to fly' but there seems to be no further details regarding their current music on any official websites.
@@vyomps Damn that sucks, thanks for the reply!
The aircraft looks good and modern. The stewardess making the announcements in Hindi seemed to have an extremely heavy American, or in this case, Canadian accent when she made the announcements. Also, the meals looked rather small when one considers the length of the flight.
Thank you for watching :)
You are correct! The FA was indeed struggling with her Hindi. AC needs to ensure that their staff are more adequately representing the needs of Hindi speaking passengers.
Meals are also small; however, this flight has some of the best service I've seen aboard Air Canada. AC's flights to India are much nicer than flights between Canada and Europe from my experience. I assume Air India probably provides nicer meals on this route.
Air Canada does have modern and clean Aircraft however :)
Does air Canada charge for meals for international flights or is it included in economy ? Thanks
It is included 😊
However they must be purchased on flights within North America :(
Hi, can you share what were the process in Vancouver Airport after landing and how much time it took
After landing you will initially go through an automated immigration process. You will scan your passport here and fill out a declaration.
You will then go to the immigration counters and see an Officer. Here they will check your arrivecan receipt, covid tests, vaccines, passport and declaration.
After this you may be selected for a random covid test. Once all these steps are completed, you will be free to go. Depending on the rush it can take 45-90 minutes.
@@vyomps what is arrivecan receipt???
@@beautilize It is the conformation number and QR code that Arrivecan generates once you enter in all your passenger details
One thing which I hate about 787…there are two windowless seat…unfortunately I got them on etihad
It depends on the layout which the airlines has chosen. I don't think I have seen a windowless row on Air Canada. I have seen them aboard British Airways in the past however so I know what you mean.
Hello brother, I am travelling from Mumbai to Toronto via Air Canada transitting through london. Do I need transit visa for london?
You do not need a UK transit visa if you have a Canadian one!
Loved your video, brother. Very informative and useful for people looking to fly AC.
I am going to fly AC from Mumbai to Toronto via Frankfurt in June 1st week and a return ticket of July 1st week. This round trip costs me around 1,05,000. But the only problem is, it is non-refundable and I'm quite tensed about it.
Whereas there is a BA flight via London on the same route at same time which is more expensive costing me around 1,41,000 but it is partially refundable.
So, which flight do you recommend me to go with? Also, I might have to change my dates (less chances) so is it better if I go with AC, because it has a free date change policy and it is also the cheapest round trip available for me at the moment!
Looking forward to your response.
Thank you for watching!
Is the first leg of your trip Lufthansa or Air India to Frankfurt? I personally enjoy flying both British Airways and Air Canada and have had good experiences with both. London Heathrow and Frankfurt are also both equally easy to navigate airports. So in terms of service both choices are similar. Although remaining on British Airways throughout is definitely easier than swapping airlines. But if your plan is final than staying with the cheaper option would definitely be the way to go!
@@vyomps Thanks for your suggestion. Much appreciated.
The first leg of the trip is Lufthansa. Even on the return date, it's Lufthansa coming back to Mumbai. And yes, my plan is final and I'm going with the AC option. Now, I have two more queries.
Firstly, do I need a Transit Visa/Schengen Visa while being at Frankfurt airport for my connecting flight (I have a valid Canadian Visitor Visa as you might've guessed).
Secondly, the flights which I'm booking in my round trip, both have a layover of 2hr 5 mins (BOM-FRA-YYZ) and 2hr 10 mins (YYZ-FRA-BOM) respectively. So according to you, is a 2 hour gap enough? Also considering that I have to change my airlines to Air Canada, but is on the same Terminal 1 (Concourse B). So it shouldn't be much of a hassle.
I'm just worried if God forbid my LH flight gets delayed and the connecting AC flight departs already, will they arrange a new flight for me considering I have the same PNR and it is a single booking. Need some clarity on this. Looking forward to your response.
P.S. - There's also a 5 hr layover flight available by AC on the same route. But it is again 10k INR more than the one I'm booking. So, should I stick with my 2 hr layover on both the flights, or do you suggest I should go with a 5 hr/7 hr layover at Frankfurt airport.
@@kushparmar1989 Hey!
I am not sure what the latest rules are for Indian citizens but I think you will be fine in terms of visa. I don't think the EU requires transit visa for Canadian bound traffic.
2 hours should be enough so long as the flights are not delayed. Frankfurt airport is easy to navigate. You are one 1pnr so you should be fine. The airline is responsible for re-routing you and booking you into a hotel room (if your delay is long) if you get delayed and are on a single pnr.
I am actually flying through Frankfurt airport in a a few weeks myself and will try to film another video.
@@vyomps Thanks man. Appreciate your help. And yes, I booked my tickets on 8th April itself. And no transit visa is required at Frankfurt airport for people travelling to Canada. So I will be fine. Also, I've stayed with the 2 hr layover both times as it was cheaper and more convenient. I'll be waiting for your new video. Cheers.

@@vyomps is it good for vlogging and some cinematic shots?
The menu is planned based on destination city timings and not on the departure city timings .
That is unfortunately not true.
Catering is carried out as per departure to align with biological clocks.
AC serves breakfast on morning transatlantic flights even though its dinner time in Europe. Meanwhile the second meal on this flight was lunch which aligns with India's lunch time as Vancouver would've been on breakfast hours by then. Serving Lunch 5 hours after Dinner doesn't align this flight's catering with either departure or destination.
That's the norm AC follows. The first meal was odd and its the first time something like this has happened to me after 12 years of flying Air Canada. Not complaining though as it was still delicious. However having a breakfast would have felt nicer at 6am after the sleepless night at the airport.
