Surprised to see you go for Grease after your last live-stream ;-) It's a cool build, and the vid is quite good at explaining the whys as well as the whats :)
@@ArcaneAgent I dunno, but it definitely should, "immunity to ground effects" and all. I've never played a winged char myself, though, because I think they look hella tacky^^
Not surprised at all with this as a choice. Arcane's earlier stuff focuses on Fear as an earlier crowd control over Grease, but I never understood why that was. Yes, if you fear someone you get an attack of opportunity, but then you have to run after them. When grease works you get much more opportunities for free attacks as it lasts over time. You get them when they are down, when they get back up, and they are effectively movement locked. Given that enemy spellcasters favor wisdom saves over dex, you are far more likely to knock them down with grease than fear and in most fights, I want to take out casters first, if I can. Also, it can be used as a tactical trap. You can drop it where mobs are going to move to, to intercept you. You can deploy it before the fight even starts. At low level Grease saved my ass over and over against boss and sub boss fights.
@@sebastianwinkler5243 / Arcane Agent - As I understand it, the 'immunity to ground effects' is meant to be natural ground effects, like if you were fighting on a bunch of large uneven broken rocks. Where most races would get reductions to their AC due to the hazardous ground conditions and having to focus more on getting stable footing to fight from, a winged character would be able to take the burden of their weight, and therefore the risk factors, off themselves by kind of floating/bouncing. This is why they get the increased AC from their wings, as it allows them movement patterns beyond the typical physical dynamics of grounded races. But, it's not true flight and while they aren't going to break their legs by running unfettered over broken shifting rocks, they still need contact friction to maneuver, just like all other races. So the magical lubricant in the Grease still has a negative effect on races with wings. This makes sense if you think about it. If having wings meant you could just fly unrestrained, then any winged character would effectively become melee immune by just flying up in the air out of melee range. That would massively unbalance the pathfinder combat dynamics with one race feat selection. Wings don't allow unrestrained vertical motion or absolve typical fighting condition requirements, they just smooth out the stagger in changing increments of environmental difficulty.
Just saw this video because i'm searching a build for my first playthrough with Dragon Disciple. Wouldn't be better take Asimaar race with Wings Talent instead of Crane Wing, that's not works, and Crane Riposte?

Yeah, I prefered the crit range, which is (18-20 at the baseline) and the base damage on the elven curved blade. As a bonus it counts as a dex/finesse weapon too. So you can stagger to dex rather than strength. Extra dex of course gives you AC on top of attack, but you need to burn a few feats to maximize your Dex potential (finesse just gives you Dex pluses to attack, whereas default strength builds add to attack and damage without any feats).
Isn't scimitar always better for all magus builds because of the unique magus weapons? Also no Rouge or Rogue in the build its funny cause I always try to jam sneak attack in my magus characters lol. Like the more in depth explanations nice touch.
Scimitar is alright in the CRPG version for a Str-based Magus. But in P&P version, Scimitar was a major go-to because of a feat called Dervish Dance which made scimitar finessable and also got Dex to Damage and was often paired with Shocking Grasp because it got a built-in +3 atk against opponents using metal armor or weapons (neither of these features made the jump to the CRPG). So, having the biggest finessable, 18-20 crit weapon (eg. Rapier, Estoc) is better for a Dex magus in absence of DD feat; Estoc is a no-brainer for Sword Saint and Rapier is good enough for all other Magi.
Hey Liquid, How about a Eldritch Scion Magus using touch attach spells through a Kinetic Knight's kinetic blade (Spell Strike) which costs 0 burn. Love the builds btw. Keep up the good work. :)
Really, you should read up on how Mirror Image works, because it's not at all how you explain it. You make it sound like they always first have to hit all your images before they can hit you, which is entirely untrue. For each hit, here is a chance that they hit an image, but they CAN still hit you. And the fewer images (after some have been taken away) are left, they higher (relatively) the chance that you are still getting hit. "[..]there is a possibility that the attack targets one of your images instead. If the attack is a hit, roll randomly to see whether the selected target is real or a figment. If it is a figment, the figment is destroyed.[..]" So, still a good spell, but if you're doing a build-with-explanation and the spell is a key feature, please just take the 60 seconds to read the spell description first!

i will be honest here: this is one of those builds that raise the "Ok but why though?" flag.
The real question is why not?
lawful ain't my cup of tea, but neat build none the less!
Well not many classes require chaotic
@@ArcaneAgent This needs to be a thing in 2nd edition pathfinder haha
Tbh it's only level 2 you need lawful. After that just make chaotic choices and move it that way
dude, you kinda look like negan from the walking dead show, how about that:) anyways nice build
I have never heard that before
Really, you should read up on how Mirror Image works, because it's not at all how you explain it. If it is a figment, the figment is destroyed.[..]"
So, still a good spell, but if you're doing a build-with-explanation and the spell is a key feature, please just take the 60 seconds to read the spell description first!
Hi liquid! I played apex legends with you! 😀

Lawful Evil, fun doing lightning attacks: you should have named the character Palpatine

He's the only one who had any love and joy in his work during the prequels. A real joi di vivre guy.
Harrim lays down his life just to lay down his life. Who will win? Who will survive? Does it matter to Harrim? His friends or random mooks?
I'd say Harrim was the perfect nihilist but he *does* believe in something.

i understand a handful of ads, but a add every 2-3mins?... really... thx for the vid but i think your milking it a bit too much
Most youtubers make a 10:02 video and put an ad up every 3 minutes.
The majority of my ads are those tiny ads at the bottom of the video.
Youre getting free entertainment/instruction and not paying anything other than clicking an x or skipping an ad...
You could donate to him instead if you prefer :)
