Bangerang, Oh captain my captain, See you in Neverland. I had the sheer joy of meeting this wonderful man during my one & only extra work on his movie Man Of The Year. At the end of the night as when he was done shooting he came over, shook the hand, asked our names & how we were doing & tanking us. You could tell it was something he not only wanted to do but loved doing. I was totally thrilled on the bus ride home & is a moment I treasure even more now. Sadly my extra work ended after because of verbally abusive losers.
First met Robin at a collegueas house party 1977 in Pasadena. He was the class of the party with his famous suspenders, not long later he had his comedy series "mork and mindy... funny guy. He acted just like he did then stand-up, series, guest in late night,,, love him... RIP my man.
my grandmother died when i was 11 and my mother commited suicide a month later due to her illnesses she had so i was in a very dark time of my life and i would watch robins stand up shows endlessly to help me cope with everything that had happen and at the time i didnt fully understand all the concepts he was going through at the time but i always laughed after i had heard he died and the way he did it broke a little piece of me like im sure it has tons of people and he will surely be missed by many and will always be remembered rip my friend i never got to meet you but you helped me more than words can describe
+ssisnake Yeah me too man, I have never met Robin, and I wish I had so badly, but I actually am utterly saddened he is not with us now. I grew up watching his movies, Flubber, Good Will Hunting, etc. Patch Adam's really hit home for me, too. He really was a hilarious guy, a beautiful man. He has a way with people that not very many other people do. I still, to a degree, think that he may have not fully understood how much of an impact he had on others around him. He certainly was a gift for the world. By the way, i'm sorry about your loss, man. May them rest in peace. I don't know what it's like to lose someone very close, but I know pushing through that kind of thing takes some extraordinary courage. From one fellow man to another, I wish you the absolute best. Keep on pushing forward, don't ever give up bro life is a challenge filled with obstacles approach them head on while going mach 4 with a smile on your face, and dominate them. Good on you, stay solid, my friend...
Sorry for what you had to go through. My Dad split and my mom was a paranoid schizophrenic. Lot's of f'd up childhood stories. I wanted to commit suicide at 8 years old. Just know you're not the only one out there that hurts. And thank you for sharing. Good luck.
You did too. I lost my mom and a month later my grandmother. Wasn't easy but watching his movies his funny ones. His serious rolls would make me cry so much. I'm sorry for you loss.
March 2023 and this still brings me to tears. Had he died because he was sick, it may have been easier to cope with, but the fact that this hilarious man, who made us all laugh, took his own life, is incomprehensible. How sad he must have been and how desperate he must have been to do such a thing. I hope he is at peace. 💜💜
I remember the long day being at my job I turned on my TV I find out he had died and I cried the whole night I loved him he mad me laugh so hard I miss him dearly
When a celebrity dies I think, "That's sad" and then I go about my day. When I heard about Robin's death I sat and cried. What a brilliant mind, equally talented at comedy and drama! He had a heart as big as the universe. When I see a reminder of him now, I give thanks for the way he made this world a better place.
The same feeling here. Watching this tribute brought back all I felt when I originally heard it. Tears.. Then I scroll down and see your profile and felt a little better.. SuperWhoLocked here.
To this day...thinking of Robin Williams brings me joy and sadness. Thank you Robin for putting a smile on my face when life was hard..if only we knew how you were doing deep down inside. We love you Robin
I sometimes fantasize about humanity being a part of a multiverse. And life as we know it is simply one parallel universe out of an infinite amount of universes. And in our universe, all of us have been lucky enough to get to experience Robin Williams' spirit and brilliance. It makes me so grateful to have been a part of it. Robin Williams is not a once in a lifetime kind of character, but a once in a universe kind of spirit, that's impossible to replicate. We should all be grateful he ever spawned this earth and entertained our souls for the sake of laughter. We're not worthy. May his spirit have finally found peace. Rest In Peace, Robin Williams.
What an incredible moment by Billy Crystal in honoring the late Robin Williams. I know that I will miss him because I have been his biggest fan since I was a teenager.
I was shocked about how he died, I never thought he would take his own life, and I think many of you feel the same way. His death taught me that behind a smile you think that he's okay, but when you look behind the smile, there were demons that he spent years fighting until he couldn't fight no more. He was from my dad's generation, but I grew up watching him. He was a kind, funny, and beautiful man. He will be one of those people who come along only once in a lifetime. Rest in peace Robin and give our love to your best friend Christopher Reeve. Smile my boy, it's sunrise.
I still cry everytime I watch this. After all these years I miss Robin everyday and I usually I don't even remember famous people's deaths, but this one hit me right on the heart :(...
They were truly best, close friends. It took A LOT of inner strength to do this, but I know how badly he wanted to honor his brother-performer friend. A beautiful and touching tribute. Yes. I shed a tear at the ending. We all did.
Fresh The very end was part of a mid 1980's HBO stand-up special Williams filmed called "Live At The Met" at the Metropolitan Opera House, NYC. The closing routine was Williams talking about looking into the future and parenting and mentoring his then-young son, Zachary. It's both touching and hilarious. Especially if you've ever been a parent but it's still great if not.
+Mike Shaffer I listened to it on my phone a few months back almost cried in the train, i hope when i have a kid in a few years it will learn english fast so him or her can listen to it as well a bit later in life.
It's been many years now....& still it's hard to believe he's gone. Even though he is not here in body....he will always be here in spirit. It still makes me cry when I see this video or really anything thats dedicated to him. I never had the privilege of meeting Mr. Williams but like so many others....I feel he was still a part of my life. When he left this world a part of me went with him. RIP Robin Williams 🙏😇
The best way that people like Robin can live on is this . . . everytime we have an opportunity to share our humanity through laughter with someone, remember that even if it's difficult to do . . . Robin did it all the time, EVEN when he was in his darkest place.
Robin was a force of nature, a raging id. We were so lucky to have had him. Forty years just wasn't enough. Six years later, I find myself laughing, then crying. Bravo, Billy. I don't know how you made it through that.
message for robin in heaven: robin no matter what the haters say you'll always be the greatest genie and the king of comedy to me...... I miss you Robin!
Robin Williams, what an incredible performer you were! Thanks for all the laughs and funny moments you shared with us. We appreciate you more than words can ever explain. You were such an emotionel, sensitive and intelligent man. May you rest in peace and continiue you journey in the spiritual world.

In the darkness at the end of that clip you could feel a large majority of people in the audience starting to cry, and that's what made me emotional, its a horrible thing that's happened, and it just shows they have heart.
Still after all these years u are still gone but u one of my favorite comics will forever be in my heart and i will forever watch ur movies , but not knowing all the hell u were going through mentally brakes my heart but to be honest it was never our ur fans business to know only urs and ur family and drs , wish u couldve stayed a while longer but u had to do what u thought was best , i miss u dearly but one day we will all be up in heaven with u so u can continue to grace us with ur humor once again , loves and hugs to u sweet man until we see u again ,
With so much chaos happening worldwide now, I will always go back to this video and watch the last 5 seconds of this clip. It always makes me well up inside.
Nope, the end got me, I never really cry over actors, people I never knew. But Robin was a freaken national treasure, he was warm, inviteing, funny yet kind. He was everybody's friend and when he talked it felt like he was talking straight to you, acting, comedy or in person. I don't care if I sound like a blubbering idiot, but this was hard. His works lifted my spirits when I felt down, he inspired me like no outher artist. I'm gonna miss him dearly, an I'm going to go cry now.
God I wish I could have met him...but after watching almost everything he ever did I know that he will forever be remembered as one of the most passionate actors ever. Talented falls short of his true ability... amazing is lackluster in definition of his skills... legendary, only falls a million miles short of his true form as an actor and person. I hope and pray that I get to meet him one day amongst the stars and distant shores... R.I.P. OH CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN.
Billy, always the true professional. A man of talent, class and style. If you haven't seen "700 Sundays" (his one man show, and story of his life) find it, it's nothing short of amazing!
"welcome to iran, help me" I'm from iran and I still don't believe he's gone 😔 what a great man with such legendary talent One in 7 billion He never died in us
People that gave this a thumbs down, what is wrong with you? Robin Williams died! He was the king of comedy! How could you do that? Mr.williams was the best of the best. You have problems. Robin Williams. R.I.P
My theory - some might feel as though giving the video a thumbs up might in some way make others, or probably themselves, feel as though they're not approving the message of the video, but the fact that Robin Williams is gone. And doing a thumbs down would do the opposite - perhaps raging against the idea that he is gone. I sometimes experience that odd theory with certain videos - I did give this a thumbs up, but like with many things, it's not a simple black or white concept and I try to (not all the time, but often) consider why someone might do a certain thing that makes me angry or confused. Like the guy on the highway who seems in such a hurry for no apparent reason and flashes you before you even have a chance to move over (or maybe he ticks you of and you don't move over). Just because we don't know the reason, that doesn't mean there is none. Maybe he's on his way to a job interview for his dream job, and he got delayed by something he had no control over. Or maybe his wife is about to give birth and he's trying to get to the hospital in time. There are times like these when forgiving is the only good policy. Anger only begets more anger.
It's either called "an opinion" Or people who just wanted to get a reaction from people like you ...those who think they HAVE to respond and "defend the honor" of a celebrity. Congratulations, you gave them attention
Robin went to school down the street from where my family grew up, as he did. My uncle knew him...they were childhood friends. In 1998, he came to one of our family functions because he was in town on tour. He spent most of his time making me laugh as I was the only kid there. He loved life and he made the lives around him better. I got into comedy and acting because of him.
Years after his passing, and I often times find myself crying. Crying for a man I never knew. I pray his soul is free.

RIP my man.
my grandmother died when i was 11 and my mother commited suicide a month later due to her illnesses she had so i was in a very dark time of my life and i would watch robins stand up shows endlessly to help me cope with everything that had happen and at the time i didnt fully understand all the concepts he was going through at the time but i always laughed
after i had heard he died and the way he did it broke a little piece of me like im sure it has tons of people and he will surely be missed by many and will always be remembered rip my friend i never got to meet you but you helped me more than words can describe
You never know what someone is going through. Robin made us laugh but deep down he was battling. An amazing man and sad he is gone.
I don't know how Billy did it. This was wonderful and full of such love.
this has to be one of the greatest eulogies ever… Bravo Billy Crystal
It will be 10 years without this wonderful, loving, gentle (i could go on) in August & I still miss him everyday.
The world is missing a piece of its soul without you, Mr. Williams. You're 'Captain' of comedy.
Still can't believe he's gone 💔 never forget the day news broke of his passing I balled like a baby 😭😭😭 RIP to the funniest man ever
He was sick from Lewy Body Dementia; you can google what his widow explains about it.
His death cannot be clearly categorized as a suicide.
I remember the long day being at my job I turned on my TV I find out he had died and I cried the whole night I loved him he mad me laugh so hard I miss him dearly
Billy has done memorials before. I don't know how he holds it together.
When I pass, I wish to have someone miss me and speak of me a tenth the way Billy speaks of Robin. That would be a wonderful life...
I never knew him personally but even now 2 years later his loss is felt ...
The same feeling here. Watching this tribute brought back all I felt when I originally heard it. Tears.. Then I scroll down and see your profile and felt a little better.. SuperWhoLocked here.
Kristin G. 👍👍
3 years later I'm still hurting I was still hurting from the loss of George carlin and in 2014 my hero robin Williams passes away man it hurts still
4 years later and I'm still getting misty eyed watching this.
Over 10 years now….cant belive it….
Rest In Peace,
Robin Williams.
What an incredible moment by Billy Crystal in honoring the late Robin Williams. I know that I will miss him because I have been his biggest fan since I was a teenager.
I can't get through this without crying, all these years later.
Same here...
How true. The world could surely use a little of Robin Williams right about now.
Me too! Robin is a legend.
me neither...
what a loss. Still.
Behind the laughter,
there’s pain.
Please check on your friends especially during these tough times.
Robin Williams I hope your making my little brother smile up there who passed away in June two hugely cherished bright stars
I still cry everytime I watch this. After all these years I miss Robin everyday and I usually I don't even remember famous people's deaths, but this one hit me right on the heart :(...
Three years on and the world still celebrates the genius of Robin Williams and mourns his passing. There will never be another like him.
Man, I miss him! I could never have stood there like Billy Crystal did without bawling!
Still brings a tear to my eye thinking about this great man's passing! The world is still so much colder without men like him!
They were truly best, close friends. It took A LOT of inner strength to do this, but I know how badly he wanted to honor his brother-performer friend. A beautiful and touching tribute.
Yes. I shed a tear at the ending. We all did.
My god the last clip of him talking about his son and not being afraid hit hard RIP You wonderful man ❤️
In memory of Robin Williams, one of the best, one of the greatest, and always in our hearts.
What a wonderful heartfelt tribute from Billy Crystal.
That last part was powerful
Fresh it was very touching
whynotbig It was just like WOW it gave me goosebumps
Fresh The very end was part of a mid 1980's HBO stand-up special Williams filmed called "Live At The Met" at the Metropolitan Opera House, NYC. The closing routine was Williams talking about looking into the future and parenting and mentoring his then-young son, Zachary. It's both touching and hilarious. Especially if you've ever been a parent but it's still great if not.
+Mike Shaffer I listened to it on my phone a few months back almost cried in the train, i hope when i have a kid in a few years it will learn english fast so him or her can listen to it as well a bit later in life.

Untouchable comedy 🎭 genius. Sad sad day RIP
He was funny, charming, witty & most of all....IRREPLACEABLE. Always in our hearts.
The last scene of this video is heartbreaking
The sound of those footsteps....
Jesus. That part haunted me when I got to that part, so fucking surreal
lkgrave it was so damn haunting dude
The best way that people like Robin can live on is this . . . everytime we have an opportunity to share our humanity through laughter with someone, remember that even if it's difficult to do . . . Robin did it all the time, EVEN when he was in his darkest place.
It is so sad to think of despite how much joy this man gave to others, he couldn't pull himself out of his own darkness.😢
You're free now, genie.
(Saw this beautiful comment on another video, had to share it.)
Damn, found this comment today, start to cry again.
Robin was a force of nature, a raging id. We were so lucky to have had him. Forty years just wasn't enough. Six years later, I find myself laughing, then crying. Bravo, Billy. I don't know how you made it through that.
How I admire Billy Crystal’s take on transcendence is so moving.
Robin Williams is the one performer I can truly say "We will never see another one like him."
What an amazing talent he had.
I always knew I would enjoy his films, I hope he knew how much he was loved
1 yr on, Rip Robin Williams, its still hard your not still with us here on Earth to make us laugh
+MolecularMoonlight an angel in heaven
message for robin in heaven: robin no matter what the haters say you'll always be the greatest genie and the king of comedy to me......
+michael mottlau Well said, Michael! Yes!
+michael mottlau there is no spiritual world...
+Miata Diva well said again.
The Ferryman "we all create our own reality with our thoughts and convictions. I believe in reincarnation and the fact that I have lived many previous lifes on earth. The soul lives forever only the body dies. I respect that you do not believe in a spiritual world. We all have a right to choose what we want to believe.

- Harlan Ellison
Robin was a gift to the world from God! There will NEVER be another one like him again ever. REST IN PEACE..😭💔🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
"welcome to iran, help me"
I'm from iran and I still don't believe he's gone 😔 what a great man with such legendary talent
One in 7 billion
He never died in us
Oh god 💔 I can't watch this without tearing up. What a remarkable soul Robin Williams was.
oh captain my captain
People that gave this a thumbs down, what is wrong with you? Robin Williams died! He was the king of comedy! How could you do that? Mr.williams was the best of the best. You have problems. Robin Williams. R.I.P
I was wondering the same thing.
It's either called "an opinion"
Or people who just wanted to get a reaction from people like you ...those who think they HAVE to respond and "defend the honor" of a celebrity.
I still miss him…there will be no one like Robin ever
Robin Williams, you were the best, no one can top you
RIP Robin...
Excellent, excellent tribute Billy.
It was perfect...
And that's all that really needs to be said...
