    Thank you so much for sharing!! I am 36 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. I had a 2nd degree episiotomy with my 1st child that tore into a 4th degree tear due to shoulder dystocia (her should got caught on my pelvic bone and they had to push her shoulder down as hard as they could to get her out. Thankfully they didn't dislocate her shoulder or break her collar bone as is what usually happens.) My obgyn has not properly managed me. I've just found out he could have been monitoring the weight of my baby via ultrasound to give me more sound advice on what I should do. So I'm also going to switch to another obgyn but I may have to get a midwife because they have very few OBGYNs here where we live.
    There really aren't any videos or blogs about this. So Thank you!

      Congratulations on your second baby💙 I’m sorry to hear your OB wasn’t taking care of you how they should. I hope you find one where you feel supported! I also hope your delivery goes well!

      Of course! So far I’m feeling great! I only had a second degree tear this time and felt back to normal around 3 weeks postpartum!

    thank you so much for this video...i am 4 weeks postpartum from a 4th degree tear! the first 2 weeks were so tough, i cried everyday & thought i would never heal. i still have some issues but nothing like the first 2 weeks. i plan on going to physical therapy. 2 providers recommended a csection for my next babies, i really do not want one but i fear another tear and long life complications! i am excited/hopeful to hear how everything goes for you. wishing you the best, you got this momma!

    Thank you for sharing! I’ve been looking for stories that I can relate to and it helps knowing I’m not alone. I have revision surgery in a week and I had to undergo a temporary colostomy to have the surgery.

    When I had my son in 2016 I also went through a 4th degree tear. I’m currently pregnant 5 months and like you, I’m looking online to see other women’s experiences and I’m not finding much. I have the choose to go c-section but I don’t want to do that. My recovery I will say wasn’t horrible, i think they took care of me well. I was prescribed stool softener and norco, i did read some women were only given Tylenol.

      @@himynameis1657 ask for warm compress on perineum during pushing, or even just applied pressure! Also request self led pushing instead of coached pushing. Slow and controlled pushing is the trick!

      @@JennaWicklund2 your really making me feel good about going vaginally again. I wanted to avoid c section as much as possible. I think I may have been a little too rushed with my first delivery. Seriously thank you so much for your advice. God bless.

      @@JennaWicklund2 how many months or years apart are your children? I had a 3b tear with my first and am expecting baby number 2 later this year. They will be 22 months apart which makes me worried that my perineum will tear badly again due to the lack of time that’s passed. My doc recommended c section but I was really set on another vaginal delivery.

    Thank you so much for sharing your story and for making this video! I had a 4th degree tear birthing my first baby 18 months ago and still have issues. I’m so so scared to get pregnant again. Why type of doctors do you feel have helped you the most to take a second look at your perineum?

    • @JennaWicklund2
      @JennaWicklund2  7 місяців тому

      I just spoke to midwives, I didn’t have any fistulas or anatomical errors if that makes sense. So I trusted my gut & that the midwives were confident I’d be able to have a natural birth again! Everybody’s recovery is different. So you’ll have to figure out who you trust most & go based off of your individual experience! I’m so sorry for your 4th degree tear, you are not alone.🖤
