Are you pregnant or know someone who is? It's important to be informed about preventing 3rd degree tears during childbirth.
3rd degree tears are severe tears that can occur during delivery, affecting the muscles and tissue around the anus.
Here are some tips to help reduce the risk of 3rd degree tears:
    1. Practice perineal massage in the weeks leading up to delivery to help stretch and prepare the area.
    2. During labor, try different positions such as squatting or kneeling to help open up the pelvis and reduce pressure on the perineum.
    3. Listen to your body and push when you feel the urge, rather than following a strict timeline.
    4. Communicate with your healthcare provider about your concerns and preferences for delivery.
Remember, every birth is different, and it's important to be flexible and open to different approaches.
By taking these steps, you can help reduce the risk of 3rd degree tears and have a more positive birthing experience.
I was prepared, and I go through what I did to prepare for this video.

Thank you, yes both wonderful births, but so much better recovery second time around. Pelvic floor is good, just need to stay consistent in the journey of postpartum to keep pelvic floor awareness in exercises and programming - my Core Rehab program is designed just for that. Where are you at? Pregnant with number two? Or had your babies already? ❤️ Kerryn

@@PregActive Hi Kerryn, I just had my first baby (natural)6 months ago with a 3rd degree, but doc says I've got weak pelvic floor muscles, been exercising them for 6 months it's getting better but I hope it'll be strong by the time I do decide to have baby #2 God willing.
Did you notice if your pelvic floor weakened after birth? And how long did it take to strengthen up after exercises?
