Elden Ring: How Frieren would Fight Messmer (Stars of Ruin, Carian Sorcery, Miriam's Vanishing)

stars of ruin looks pretty cool, in my opinion the most stylish looking spell in the game
i mostly chose it as it looks cool in P2, where you can cast it, and you can do a last moment dodge after the cast for the snake form lunge, and the stars of ruin projectiles also chase the snake as it lunges, pretty cool
tried to swap out spells as much as possible and went with an array of spells to be a more proper "mage" battle
parrying is always fun so added it to the mix

I think they just don't want spells to be too strong since ds2 times, it was known by the players as easy mode back then
No clue why nerf it so hard though, Elden Ring has way more OP stuff in it (mostly stagger abuse with heavy poise hitting weapons, bleed and cold procs)

The final boss has lots of parry windows, but not many openings for spellcasting

used Carian Regal Scepter and swapped to misericorde for the ripostes (funny thing, magic misericorde has the highest damage for ripostes)
beloved stardust to increase casting speed but it also increases damage taken by 30%
assassin's cerulean dagger to get a bit of mana after ripostes (better to use something that would increase my damage normally, but I actually wanted to fight to take longer)
blade of mercy (increases attack power after riposte)
crucible feather talisman (not needed but feels nice for p2 with the snake attacks, sometimes even though rarely I can get hit, and I didn't want to increase my damage further with a damage talisman; also this increases damage taken by also 30% lol)
rest is spells, but I think you can see them from the video
for stats, put as much as you want into vigor and mind (well you can have less mind but you would need to use mana flasks more, I had 60 here), 72 for intelligence (80 is the hardcap, doesn't increase too much after that)
mind and vigor also share the hardcap of 60
the spell casts also take stamina, so I would put slight points into endurance, nothing too much needed

cool video, btw what's your rune level? i saw some comments and calculated that your RL is around 190....i think i'm gonna try your build in my next playthrough but also gonna change a bit so i can wield some weapons

183, but you can make it easily go down to 150 or change it up a bit; without losing damage
honestly after having your main stat that increases your damage hit 60/80, your damage doesn't really improve, I have too much on Mind and Endurance, you can have it be a lot less
