I have a ‘16. We love it. Only thing we dislike is the touchscreen controls for air conditioning and the lack of updates Toyota gives to the entertainment systems. In general their Navigation unit is weak. We LOVE this truck. It eats miles. It eats dinosaurs like you said, but it’s so pleasurable to drive long distances. Also let me give you a list of the problems we’ve experienced since we bought it:
The WSJ just published an article about the Heritage Edition LC. I immediately thought of your channel. Great choice in vehicle even if some people don't "get it." I know your channel is based on switching vehicles frequently, but I hope you keep this one and keep us updated on your ownership experience. I think it's a fantastic rig.
Kevin D. Thanks bud. As mentioned in the video here... both my wife and I absolutely love this LC... we love the look, feel, space, comfort and power. I can’t imagine “upgrading” from this in any way tbh. So it’s safe to stay for the foreseeable future. =]
Well let me say, being that the Land Cruiser is about to be out of production and the LC is Mad Max bulletproof, you probably made a good investment. If you keep it of course
I bought my 1st Landcruiser new in 95’ and traded it in when the new one came out in 98’.It only has 97,122 miles on it and the only thing that has broken is I’m guessing the little lightbulb behind the D near the transmission lever.I’ve replaced parts due to wear, but that’s it.Toyota Landcruisers are absolutely bulletproof and the only vehicle I believe I will ever drive.
@@petet-rex5589 sadly the diesel engines may have been able to solve that issue especially by now they would have had time to solve any emission hurdles but I'm likely wrong since the company has likely done decades of studies to guide their decisions
Yeah, the LC200 will be the last Land Cruiser in the U.S. For the LC300 coming in 2021 they will only bring the Lexus LX variant to the U.S. which is basically same underneath the fancier looks.
Texas Guy damn I bet it rides amazing and looks great! Nice work. Though I’d like the front end to be level with the rear, I really enjoy the ride of this HE.
@@UntamedMotors It’s amazing ride and look. I kept the factory wheels as well. Next project is to add the Total Chaos lower control arms, then she’s done.😀
You just made one of the best decision of your Life my man! Take care of that beautiful girl.....in ten years, she's going to be worth a lot of $!!! I wish I could afford one. You are a very lucky man!!! *Note* Way better looking than the new LC-300. At least in my humble opinion. Plus, being the last built of this model, She is at her peak of reliability, and durability. About the price, you're right, it's little High, but, on the other end, if we consider the price of a new "Defender 110"with accessories, you just got a vehicle that would leave the Defender stranded in the middle of the trail, with a Christmas Tree of lights istead of the dashboard. Final thought.....if you are planning on whelling with this wonder, put some 33s on those amazing wheels, a 2,5 inches "OME" lift, and you will go where the Defender wish it could...
Love this vehicle. I have a 4Runner TRD Pro. I was first attracted to them because of their off road capabilities and reliability. I know I kind of had to aquire a taste for the design/looks of the 4R, Sequoia, LC, but now that I have I absolutely love them.
Great review and great looking LC! We bought our used 2013 LC last year and we absolutely love it! I wish the gas mileage was better or they had the larger gas tanks like they have in the rest of the world. The LC has always been my dream car and I’m so grateful to own one. We’ve always kept our vehicles for at least 10 years and the LC is the only vehicle I wouldn’t think twice about buying new for $90,000 because I know we’d keep it for many years. I think my favorite things in it are the super cold A/C and the fridge in the center console which is sad they don’t put in the Heritage Edition. If you get tired of those cup holders, there’s a guy on Etsy that makes 3D printed cup holder replacements that hold a standard can/cup and a Hydroflask. It was probably my best mod on mine. Getting the factory front coil spacers installed will also fix that front end rake and make it look a little better especially with those TKO’s.
I appreciate the recommendations for the cup holders and coils. Thank you. When it comes to the LC, you either get it or you don't... It's an absolute tank, in and out. =] ...and yeah, I wish they had kept the mini fridge, that would have been sweet.
So cool. My best mod was the slurpee system I installed. I’m thinking about putting a snow machine that shoots snow out in front of me as a I drive. I hope it impress’s anyone who gets in. I’ll look into the cup holder replacements though.
I think its "dated" look is part of its charm, kind of like a factory built restomod. It is a handsome and rugged vehicle. Good purchase, price is fine. Nice content.
This is my dream truck. I have a 22 SR5P 4 Runner, if I ever had FU money I'd get the LC. It's funny I'm not a fan of black trucks, but this is gorgeous. Drive it in good health
The LC has been an iconic vehicle for decades, many people grew up with it and learned to drive in it, that alone justifies the price in my opinion, there’s no other suv like that one
They’re really expensive for an suv from Toyota so yes they are rare, but worth every penny in my opinion, they sell better in Australia and Dubai though
I have the Army Green Trd Pro 4runner and I enjoy it alot, but maaan I love that land cruiser bro. I could imagine it being like my 4runner but on steroids because of the size and that power. I also have an older 2010 tundra with the 5.7, and just imagining the 5.7 power on that SUV must be great
Hector Nice man! I sometimes miss the 4Runner -I had an Army Green one too before this... it was a stunning rig! Great taste. This takes everything that was and beefed up every element. =]
Thanks for this video. I sold my 2013 Land Rover LR4 (built up) for a 2018 Land Cruiser and never looked back. I did love my Land Rover, but it just was not aging how I wanted as far as reliability. I had many great overland trips in the Land Rover, but I needed something more reliable. After doing a lot of research, I decided on the Land Cruiser. I also have the BFG A/T KO2s. I get a lot of questions comparing the LR4 to the LC200, but it all depends on your needs. I loved my LR4, but I love and respect the LC200! I don’t see myself ever selling it and I feel confident that it will last for many years.

You have impeccable taste in vehicles, pal. If it were my world I would have kept the Tundra and bought a Land Cruiser anyway haha. The Japanese 5.7 is just as reliable as the Alabama made one. There's no way Toyota will sign of on production unless they met the standards. We can't get the LC in canada so the Tundra is the closest I could get when it comes to drive train and reliability.

Thanks for this video! Figured I'd watch a bunch of owner reviews coz we're planning to get a Land Cruiser. (Either the LC 300 ZX or an 2019-2021 LC 200 VX.)
Had a 2008 Land Cruiser and just traded for a 2021 Heritage Edition in Silver. I love Land Cruisers, and while I was waiting for Toyota to update the LC, I love some of the old school features of this model. Real gauges with a simple touch screen that is very intuitive and simple to use. Very comfortable interior and great ride. Handling is truly awesome, and looking out over the hood is one of the best parts of this vehicle. Yes, the gas mileage sucks, but we all know that is part of a Land Cruiser. Shame Toyota won't bring a diesel to the US market.
Great vid as always brother ,agreed on the Tundra for the back seat room ,nothing compares. LC is a unique suv with a price to go along with ,but i like it .
The Land Cruiser is really amazing vehicle in every conceivable way. Powerful, comfortable, very quiet at highway speed, competent off-road, makes you feel safe and special, has lots of road presence but blends in. It also gets absolutely abysmal gas mileage and fuel range. I got tired of not even getting 300 miles to a 25 gallon tank, and sold it less than a year later. With a small 1" lift, K02 tires +1 up in size, and rock rails, I got a combined 12.5mpg. Just F*@%ing horrible.
Congrats man! The LC is next level for sure. If I didn’t need the huge backseat space for my 3 munchkins and the bed on occasion I would have kept the LC here... but I went back and got a 21 Tundra TRD Pro. 😬
You say it's hard to pull the trigger due to price but when you look at the competition like Range Rover and maybe a BMW X7, those two will last until their warranty runs out and then start to fall apart. They won't even get close to 200k miles without shoveling your wallet into them.. you made the absolute right call that SUV has the potential to take you to 500k+ miles original engine and transmission. Enjoy!
I own a 2018TLC and am getting 17.2mpg combined.I drive 75+mph on the Hgwy. The secret is just don't tromp it off the line. It's tough to resist the growl of the massive V8,but ,if you can, the gas mileage is not all that bad. A couple of miles a gallon less than a full size American pickup is the price that you pay for a vehicle you will leave to your grandkids and will be the last car running after the apocalypse.
The 4Runner Limited has taken the place of the Land Cruiser in the US. Which is a good thing. It may not be quite as stout here and there, however, it is better looking and has the same performance.

I have a 2008 Land Cruiser with 275,000 miles. I take it off road and really beat the hell out of it. I have owned Land Cruisers in the US and Pakistan, both countries where I reside. The 2008 model I have in the US has by far outlasted all the other cars that I own. There is nothing quite like the Land Cruiser. It does everything.
The LC is the best car Toyota makes, now dollar per dollar the tundra is just as good, on the tundra the driver and passenger seat are wider and the back seat is super comfortable for those who like the extra room. If you can have both is great, is always good to have a pick up at home. You always keep referring to the space of the tundra, it seems you still not over the TRD Pro.
Interesting that you didn't like the rear portion of the car and how it looked 2008. I'd argue that I appreciate that styling cue and how it stayed the same vs everyone looking the same in today's market. Regardless, beautiful truck that will be enjoyed for decades, whether under you or future owners
I like the new headlights on the sequoia but those taillights are just too bubbly for my liking... I always liked them but never enough to want. But you’re right, they look fantastic in the AG. 👌🏻

I agree nobody talks about the lack of headroom in the T4R. I wanted the 4runner limited trim and ended up with GX460 with way more headroom. Man i wish i could buy those bronze bbs forged wheels. Toyota wants a Land Cruiser heritage vin number in order to purchase.
GX460 is a sweet option, congrats man! I must admit though... as an owner of the LC Heritage Edition, I could appreciate Toyota protecting the exclusivity of the wheels...
Curious to hear your opinion on why you went with the KO2S vs the Nitto Ridge grapplers. I have a new LX570 and I purchase the Tundra TRD pros wheels and I’m researching on tires. Do you think the Nitto 295s you had on your army green tundra would fit on my LX? Thanks in advance for your help.
Additionally...personally I think you are a guy who just enjoys buying and trading vehicles and experiencing all different vehicles. Nothing wrong with that. Do what you like and don't let others sway you and just claim it!
There is a reason why the land crusier has an MSRP of 90K and the TRD pro has an MSRP of 57K, LC hands down will last longer! Love the tundra, but the LC will last! Good move sir!
32 years of LC development and my 60 and your 200 gets the same mileage. Of course yours will move around a bit better, the 2f in the 60’s makes old Honda Civic HP.
The LX570 is essentially the same exact rig but just with nicer creature comforts and tech. I personally prefer the look of the LC though... Not to mention, the LC is a bit more capable given it's suspensions setup and ground clearance *by comparison. =] Both are amazing though.
I know a guy who traded in his 2020 LC Heritage for a 2020 Land Rover Defender 110. No idea why someone would do such a thing. I'd love you see you remove the running boards and lift/level it a tiny bit. It would look so goood oh and DELETE THAT CHROME!!
Chrome delete... yes. Side steps are actually rock sliders -I put them on. Need them with kiddos. =\ I love that new defender but not enough to trade in the glorious LC!
btw, it is not the same 5.7L V8. Land Cruiser is fully assembled in Japan, and the engine block is internally scanned for defects. Every component qc is to the highest standard.
@@UntamedMotors Land Cruiser is just the very best manufactured version of the 5.7 possible. Defects and imperfection rejection rate, and assembly standard is much higher.
How do you think the off road capabilities compare between the Tundra, Taco, 4 Runner TRD Pro vs the Land Cruiser with the KO2's? What size tires are you running on the Land Cruiser 285/60R18 D Load range or 285/65R18 E range?
285/65/18 E is what I'm running. Love the feel of these KO2s and the piece of mind that comes with. =] Though I know all of these rigs could hold their own in nearly any off road predicament, I'd take the 4Runner (with KO2s) over the others. It's lighter, thinner and a bit less $ so I would feel a bit more confident rolling it down a daunting hill or mountain. All would be excellent though -of course.
I have 33” KO2’s on mine with stock suspension and it’s phenomenal off-road. I love the off-road cruise control! That being said, it’s a wide vehicle and I’ve been very concerned on some trails I’ve been on. I think the 4Runner and Tacoma would be much better offroading narrower trails.
What are you referring to when you talk about the 5.7 "being tested to 1,000,000 miles"? If you're referring to the Tundras that made it to 1,000,000 miles, did they not have the 4.6?
Mike, you are correct. There are actually two Tundras out there that have the 4.6L with a million miles. One was in Arkansas and the other was in Mississippi. They are both 2007 model year.
Thanks man. Yeah black cars aren’t good for my OCD lol... micro scratches for days! I prefer white but I refuse to get a Pearl white (yellowish white) and that was the only other option for the heritage in 2020. =\
I see you took off the roof basket, the truck looks much better without it. Do you know what the biggest tire size I can fit on a land cruiser without having to lift or cut anything?

The Crew Cab Tundra is known as the limousine of pick-up trucks. Lots of room for 4 adults.
I did the same thing I had a 2017 Tundra TRD Pro cement gray and traded in for a 2017 LC, no regrets. Love the LC.
You’re a good man. =]
If you keep it of course
i agree, this guy can drive the hell out of this thing and it'll retain it's value pretty well.
Beadlocks, ARB front, rear bumper and rock sliders and some round lights this baby is gon look bomb👌
I have a 2015 and one of my neighbors got 2020 heritage edition in black, just like yours. It looks awesome!!
Nice! Sounds like you all have great taste on that block. Do I need to move in next door? lol.
Untamed Motors you might already be close by. By the way, if you are looking to sell your LC wheels or Tundra wheels, please let me know. Thanks!
I read that Toyota will be pulling out of USA for the landcruiser. This will be the last generation here. It will hold its value even longer.
Likely saying that to drive sales
@@weirdshibainu nah, Toyota doesn’t play those games
Cause they must meet a new minuim MPG average for the company .
On my Cruiser.. I put some 3.0 King Shocks, Total Chaos UCA’s, and 275/70/R18..giving it a 3 inch lift. GREATNESS!!!!!!
Texas Guy damn I bet it rides amazing and looks great! Nice work. Though I’d like the front end to be level with the rear, I really enjoy the ride of this HE.
@@rickroel4994 Well I was born and raised in Denver, then moved to TX.....sooooooooooooooo
*Note*
Way better looking than the new LC-300.
Those bronze wheels with the aggressive treads and white lettering look beautiful! I love the Land Cruiser. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching. =] appreciate the support.
The vehicle is outstanding, the bronze wheels and KO2's great look if the car makes you happy that is all you can ask for enjoy thanks for the update
💯 Thanks bud =]
This really has been the best all around vehicle we’ve had! It’s perfect imo.
This is my dream truck. I have a 22 SR5P 4 Runner, if I ever had FU money I'd get the LC. It's funny I'm not a fan of black trucks, but this is gorgeous. Drive it in good health
Much appreciated brother. The LC is a total tank… lots to love about it.
Glad to see you love it!! The walk away and look back and smile test always reveals the truth on whether you made the right purchase.
Thanks man. Haha amen to that!
The LC has been an iconic vehicle for decades, many people grew up with it and learned to drive in it, that alone justifies the price in my opinion, there’s no other suv like that one
Agustin well said! 👌🏻 no other vehicle had the heritage of the LC. =] (maybe the Jeep but even that has been bought out by FCA and changed a ton...)
Untamed Motors yes exactly!
i have literally never met a single person that has owned one...
latinbeandip Neither have I and I own one 😂 I’ve only seen 3 LC 200’s on the road since purchasing mine last year. They’re very rare in the US.
They’re really expensive for an suv from Toyota so yes they are rare, but worth every penny in my opinion, they sell better in Australia and Dubai though
I cannot wait to buy one in 10 yrs when i can actually afford it they are so badass glad you're enjoying it
They’ll be equally cool and just as reliable then I’m sure. =]
LC's are awesome; own a '14 Lexus LC 570 ... going to keep it forever
Awesome man! Glad to hear you’re loving your land cruiser. They truly are bulletproof machines huh? Putting KO2s on them makes you feel as though you could go literally anywhere hah. 👌🏻
@@UntamedMotors I agree, they are bulletproof tanks. They are also dinosaurs, which is why some people just can’t justify the price, but they are truly an investment. I could care less about the new technology, I love the iconic old-school design! Best of luck!
I want this bad boy. But my wife wanted the 2020 sequoia TRD PRO so that’s what we have and love it. My parents had a 84 FJ Landcruiser when I was a boy and I’ve wanted on ever since.
This and the sequoia are both excellent choices... congrats! Both are bulletproof. It’s a shame Toyota is doing away with the LC for the US market. =\
I own a 2013 and it’s definitely a tank. Hope to make it to a million miles
I really like the Bronze wheels with Black.
Sterling Pilgrim thanks man... they definitely go well together huh? =] 🙏🏼
Every door on BMW'S have the keyless lock/unlock. It is super handy to not have to go to the front doors if you just need in the back! Glad Toyota did that on the Land Cruiser!
Agreed. This was a nice touch and certainly a must have at $89K lol. =]
Waimea Canyon Blues Thanks a lot man, I appreciate that! I’m with you. The 5.7L is the same beast just assembled a little differently. I miss my Tundra everyday tbh. That was the perfect truck... size, space inside, power, sound and easy to drive. (Amazing turn radius still baffles me lol).
I appreciate the comment man. =]
Thanks for this video! Figured I'd watch a bunch of owner reviews coz we're planning to get a Land Cruiser. (Either the LC 300 ZX or an 2019-2021 LC 200 VX.)
Heck yeah man. You’re going to love it 👌
When are you thinking about buying?
The leather comment on the seats is a fair point. I have a 2018 Tundra Platinum and its seat's leather is much better than the Tundra Limited
I appreciate your detailed explanation etc. but no need to justify this purchase! This is a VERY smart car and bad ass, too.
Yes, the handling is truly awesome 😂
Great vid as always brother ,agreed on the Tundra for the back seat room ,nothing compares. LC is a unique suv with a price to go along with ,but i like it .
Troy Hasty Thanks bud. Appreciate your positivity as always! This thing is definitely a tank. =]
I traded my 2011 Tundra for a 2020 Lexus GX. Land Cruiser and LX were out of my price range. I love the GX but those Land Cruisers are great!
The GX is solid as hell too!! Congrats.
The quality of the interior of the LC is definitely high end. Wish my Tundra had the medal handle for the door inside instead of the cheap plastic.
It’s obvious the second you sit in one -for sure! Pictures and video don’t really do the interior any justice...
In my country, the LC is the car of high ranking officials and rich folks. 99 percent of them will never be used for offroading.
Love your videos. Your knowledge of Toyota's is amazing. The HE is a worthy companion for someone who loves Toyotas.
Thank you, I have a lot to learn still... but I appreciate that! =]
Yep, my biggest gripe is the small fuel tank. Also, the distance to empty is way off...with 0 miles the most i've been able to fill up is 21.5 gal
Your loss.
I think it’s a good choice you made. Land cruiser last longer with great off road and daily using ability
Thank you! Amen to that =]
I also trade in my 1793 edition Tundra for this black heritage edition Land Cruiser, really much better I feel
Enjoy!
“I wanted it and my wife wanted it so we compromised and gave it to my wife” perfect summary of marriage LOL
Haha yup!!
The wife reading his reply 👁👄👁
Happy wife = Happy Lyfe 😅
the NAME say it all !!!
it will be sad if Toyota stop making the Landcruiser 💪💪💪💪💪💪🙏🙏🙏🙏
Amen to that!
Congratulations for your new car
I’m trining to find out how much is it out the door with no additional warranty
Are you happy with the KO2's? I have had mine for about a year now (same exact car, black 2020 LC HE), and have been thinking about getting a set.
Yeah, I’m a huge fan of them. They handle great on and off road and look the part. Much more fitting for the HE. =]
@@UntamedMotors Awesome! I agree they are fitting for the HE! It is almost snow season, so I think I'm going to have to go get a set. Thank you! 33's?
@@blakereynolds2936 I went slightly bigger than stock. Stock is 285/60/18 if I recall correctly... I went 285/65/18.

I live I south Africa I have a land cruiser and my dad also we also have a hilux we have only owned Toyota and can not go wrong with it
Interesting that you didn't like the rear portion of the car and how it looked 2008. I'd argue that I appreciate that styling cue and how it stayed the same vs everyone looking the same in today's market. Regardless, beautiful truck that will be enjoyed for decades, whether under you or future owners
Gosh, I love your rig! Almost bought one several months ago behind wife’s back... I’m sure it would cost me a marriage.
Haha do it!!! =] she’ll love it.
Did you look into the 2020 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro? I think the Sequoia looks awesome in army green
I like the new headlights on the sequoia but those taillights are just too bubbly for my liking... I always liked them but never enough to want. But you’re right, they look fantastic in the AG. 👌🏻
Brooklyn in The Rare old Times greedy stealerships are the worst. Just cause you can doesn’t mean you should... just my opinion...
Land cruiser should get a face lift, maybe chrome delete. If no, maybe a vinyl wrap then you can cover everything!
I have a 2017 TRD off road premium and a 2013 Audi RS5. I’m looking into one of these gen land cruisers and then leasing a cayman GTS since they are discontinuing the gas caymans. Do you guys prefer these a lot over the 4Runners?
Why did you remove the roof rack? And how do you like the added side steps?
I would definitely get the front grill and the roof racks powder coated in the same colour as the wheels. And the badging at the back too.
That’d definitely give it a unique look. 👌🏻
The appearance of that car is legendary. Like a lion coming from savana. The eyes an the face is so masculine. Anyways congratulations for your good decision.

that is ONE THING i measure ALL VEHICLES with...
I fear Toyota SUV...and especially the LC200 will go the way of the rest....too many electronics...and the worst thing is having a rotary gear selector...WTF is that ?
The actual seating surface of the 19/20 Tundra TRD PRO is leather. The seats of the 4Runner TRD PRO are "SofTex" which is plastic.
That would make sense. Thank you for the clarification. 👌🏻
What is the brand of the running boards you added? They look really good.
Land Cruisers are for connoisseurs.....they are special. As far as price...the competition has caught up. Best purchase ever! Keep her forever brother!
@@UntamedMotors they should make exception on those wheels to GX owners. I mean we are little brother ( baby land cruiser). Lol
My 1997 80 series is still going strong... back when LCs cost only 57k lol

Love that 200... writing is on the wall for the Tacoma-can’t wait to see the replacement
Lol. It’s just a matter of time I suppose... hah
32 years of LC development and my 60 and your 200 gets the same mileage. Of course yours will move around a bit better, the 2f in the 60’s makes old Honda Civic HP.
Haha they never sacrificed reliability for fuel efficiency 👌🏻
@@UntamedMotors you know you can have both, right?
@@D0praise yep.
What a about the lexus lx570. Any difference? Your thoughts??
Dang that’s awesome. 👌🏻 the Merica ones do just as good by the looks of it though!
@@UntamedMotors Land Cruiser is just the very best manufactured version of the 5.7 possible. Defects and imperfection rejection rate, and assembly standard is much higher.
@@eto2352 I believe it. It’s a shame they’re discontinuing this beast... =\
That thing is awesome I would not have got black thought...but to each his own.
What size KO2's did you go with? Im about to put some on my 2019 and seems most there is a split between 285/65 and 275/70.
I went with 285/65 on my 2018 and could not be happier. Based on calculations from the forums, you run them all at 42psi and it’s perfect.
I own a 1993 LC 80 series...and it still runs it's my daily
Land Cruiser has no flaws.
Agreed. It’s perfect!
