Knowing a bit on how the process is done with the Beyond Skyrim team and how many years is now taking them to expand Tamriel using Skyrim - I believe this is a load of "boloney".
@@ignacio3460 What's the point of using assets tailored specifically with the engine limitations of Skyrim (with SKSE mods) on a more superior engine which can easily do more excluding what other mods can do for the Creation Engine 2 even on its vanilla form? I rather play what these modders already did in Skyrim rather than seeing them in Starfield where the downgrade will be obvious enough that these ambitious project will just end up them redoing the assets themselves.
@@ignacio3460 I think you are misunderstanding my point - sure the assets compared to Vanilla Skyrim models are a step above by 10 folds, but in comparison to what the Creation Engine 2 can do, those baked textures and even how those models are made will need tweaking in order to be viable in the likes of running them in Starfield. Meeting the standards in a completely different engine with more complex implementations of multi-layer of shaders support, it will never be just a "cut and dry" situation.
Perhaps someone asked Chat GPT 4 O to create a post promoting a Starfield modders plan for a community to import 3 games set in Tamriel to a new planet.
As far as I can tell, nobody else has mentioned this, but Tamriel is not the name of the planet in the Elder Scrolls series, it's just the main continent (where the empire is located) - the planet is called Nirn. Edit: also, one more red flag I see that you didn't mention: the description talks about porting existing assets from the old games, which seems like they'd be setting themselves up for an intellectual property lawsuit.
If this were a real thing in my opinion even 2050 would be early for something like this to come out, in my opinion, this could be something that would become a generational project that the original makers would pass on to their kids who then might be able to release this by the year 2100.
Projects like Fallout London or Miami are the only massive projects that really interest me. The old games exist. I wish that the talented modders would forget about reliving the past and just focus on creating new experiences instead. Let Fudge Puppet stay in Morrowind, Oblivion ad Skyrim for the rest of their lives.
I think it'd be cool even to have like a Tavern or player home from Skyrim brought in as a mod though, or like someone could add singing bards with lutes for our ships, lol. Not to quash people's creativity (within reason, obviously this seems fake, lol) but it seems more reasonable for someone to make specific cities from each game on specific planets, not as a 1:1, but as a spritual expansion of the cities and the surrounding area generated across a planet. Like an expanded Whiterun, with a faithful core and new outskirts, and the rest of the planet is set to generate the landscape around the city, complete with roaming giants, mammoths, etc...
Playing in widescreen, and not ultrawide is like wearing blinders. You know, the things that keep horses from seeing anything except the path ahead as intended by the driver?
How amazing would it be if they forgot about this whole Starfield fiasco, swept it all under the rug never talked about it and devoted all the resources towards TES VI with the priority of hiring back the exact people responsible for Oblivion and Skyrim. doing a beyond skyrim like project would be a lot more doable. Tbh i would just make the overworld and just release that first. No interiors. Then go from there. Make individual modules for quest expansion and what not.

While I'd hope this is actually going to happen, the way I'd believe this would be say if the Beyond Skyrim/Skyblivion team (or a large part of them) was doing this and was able to pull in their previous work to use to port it over in a way. With the ambition and the lack of details... Yeah. Kinda skeptical.
In a way it's better if it's a troll. Having done a bit of mod / indie game dev volunteering, I would never touch these huge game port projects, they seem lose lose. Chances of them succeeding are very low, and if you do succeed it'll take so long that it becomes irrelevant because all you've done is port a game from a really old engine to a slightly less old one. If you volunteer and don't bail like most, you get stuck in some sunken cost fallacy mentality that eats up thousands of hours of your life before you find out which way it'll fizzle out. And in the end you can't even say you own any rights or have a body of creative work you can use in a portfolio. I don't think you'll even get much recognition because people will just see the artistic vision as being from the original game. All this said it is quite fun to be in a group working on game content... but I'd recommend something with a better chance of some kind of success.
Some times the trolls inspire creators. Skyblivion is suppose to release in 2025. Might they think to port that mod to Starfield? Not saying they will or should. Simply stating that the troll may make them think about that.
I love starfield I was expecting Skyrim inside of space and I got what I wanted. The free mods make up for the bugs. One thing I don’t like is the paid mods, like the vulture 7$ for one quest is not a good sign if they continue the trend.

Seems like a meme but fresh off a Tale of Two Wastelands playthrough I'd give it a go. Initially I got Starfield on my XSX before I rolled it off a cliff and acquired a pc instead, life is so much better. I'd have to repurchase Starfield at this point which why I don't currently own a copy but I'd pay out for one simply to admire the spectacle of a mod like this.

If this is real, you probably won't really need an entire planet. Bethesda has always made crater sized games. That's why Skyrim in space was insane, as is expecting that modders can fill up the void with walk-about content.
to elaborate, many of the large modding projects we do are possible because we are REPLACING existing assets and are not adding completely new forms. there is a hard-cap on how much the engine can handle.
Honestly, I thought that this AND a Fallout world would be things that would end up in the game. Not the games, but the worlds, with different questlines. Because there is no way you would be the Dovakiin. Just put in radiant quests. Maybe let you join guilds. It would work, you just can't include the main questlines. Limit it. Also, these people are putting it out there that it is an idea. Asking for people. Every project has to start at a point like this, pie in the sky, with ideas. They are trying to start discussion. I don't think discussion is a bad thing. He's asking for people to help. What if he really wants to do it? How do you know he's making fun of them? I try to be hopeful about such things. That's all part of the Bethesda Game Studios universe. So have it be there. It extends the fantasy of everything existing simultaneously on different worlds, and Starfield being the one that binds it all together. I think it's a cool concept to have. Like i said, it doesn't have to be the same quests, and it is better if it is not. Have it be a mission to explore the planet, but to blend in with the people. That way you are doing things there but not as the "hero", as your Starfield character, to explore the planet and report back about the lifeforms and life that you see there. Perhaps you have to retrieve something from the planet. That is what makes it interesting.

I had actually thought about this as an idea previous to Starfield coming out, about how cool of an idea it would be to have Tamriel and Fallout Earth as planets to visit. No main questlines or anything, just radiant quests and maybe a guild or something like that. I posted about it on comments in multiple places.
Fallout NV in FO4 mod died because Bethesda stole the two leads off the team. Bethesda will never allow modders to out-do them... even though they do, every single day.

If you include DLCs, you can't put together maps from Skyrim and Morrowind.

All those 3 games have different styles and assets… biomes, armor, weapons, architecture …
I know how to handle a Creation Kit, but the only reason to release mods for Toddfart would be to troll the so-called fans and trash their save games.

Have none of you ever heard of an ambitious idea I’m sure Starfield sounded “fake” too when Todd Howard & BGS initially pitched it 🤯 I hope everyone’s negativity & doubt actually fuels the creation of this project also can we refrain from using accusations like “fake” I mean its not like this is a commercial product they’re pushing its a mod / fan art / labor of love so an analysis on whether this is real or not… weird coming from another content creator we all know even the “real” projects like F4NV could stop development tomorrow does that make them “fake” even with everything they’ve shared & how happy they already made people like me??

I had actually thought about this as an idea previous to Starfield coming out, about how cool of an idea it would be to have Tamriel and Fallout Earth as planets to visit. No main questlines or anything, just radiant quests and maybe a guild or something like that. I posted about it on comments in multiple places.
