Their response "New Players might of been overwhelmed with the choices" has confirmed my suspicion. This game is not for us fans, its for newer and younger players. Everything about the art design and simplicity of the game play , along with what the statements from the developer is the proof. It is what it is, not much we can do about it other than not purchase the game.

The sad truth about gamedevs is they are weak, they crave acceptance and praise. Most developers found clout and acceptance for the first time in their lives by talking trash about the audience among an emerging post grad group right out of subversive education centers, and they finally got to feel the moral highs for being the good guys after a life of developing games in a cave, alienated and alone. Now they are addicted, they drank from the well of tribalism so deeply that they can't go back, they can't acknowledge that they have turned into the bully that gave them wedgies and wet willies long ago. Correction, Cassandra is a Seeker, overseers of the templars, and didn’t require Lyrium to give her the gifts she has, rather through tough training and meditation she was touched by the spirit of faith, if I recall. But I too enjoyed her character, she is tough as nails, commands respect, protective, isn't afraid to admit she's wrong when proven so, humble, and will get things done when needed, but is also a diehard romantic who loves gushy romance novels like Varic’s Swords and Shields that she keeps secret. She is nowhere near the girl-boss troupe that would make her, otherwise, insufferable. I too romanced her in my games. She even hands the power of command over to the player, acknowledging her flaws and her inability to lead.

So I'm getting Andromeda vibes here, remember, Bioware apologised for a random NPC who is trans because they 'didn't get it right'. But they didn't apologise for the state of the game, the fuck all story and laughable main cast.

This game is releasing in about a week and yet still not breaking into the top 25 on Steam's Best Seller. There's been so much marketing for this game and it's not climbing to the top 10 already, Black Myth Wukong, Elden Ring DLC, and other greatly anticipated games were within the top 10 by now.

Dragon Age, for me, got worse with every iteration. I loved Origins. DA2 left me scratching my head about what happened, and DA:I - I couldn't even finish the first act, it was so bad. Now this - I don't want to play Veilguard even if they PAY me those $70 to do it.

Breaks my heart what happened to Dragon Age. I was looking forward to this game back when I beat Inquisition. It wasn't the best DA game but I still had fun. I really wanted to go to war with Solas in the next game but once I heard we weren't even going to be playing the Inquisitor my heart broke and I no longer care.
Then I heard that the Inquisitor was corrupt..... even though I made sure that didn't happen in my gameplay... Like what is the point of "Failguard"?

Cassandra is a Seeker doesn't need lyrium to use her abilities like templars hence why they were supposed to watch over the templar order. Many didn't like Inquisition but for me is a decent game, I liked Andromeda game mechanics but didn't like the story and the beginning of DEI characters there.
Whoever said Cassandra looks like a man is just reacting to the fact she is more handsome than beautiful, her scars and hair being less feminine, and shes a Tank in heavy armour that doesn't overemphasized her curves(they are still very much there). They clearly didn't talk to her outside of the main questline. Her love for romance novels and the way she talks about her family after you get through her hard Seeker shell is heartwarming and so cute. She's one of the best examples of a believable "strong woman" character type, her masculinity only emphasizes her femininity once you get to know her.
That's a long way of saying she's ugly.

Literally, the only game I am really looking forward to is the new Mass Effect. If it fails, I will just play all the classics.

Inquisition was a when i stopped being interested in dragonage. People probably just didnt see it. I didnt even finish it. I could see the rot getting worse. Your 'lore dump', it actually made me interested in playing the Dragon Age series. I have never touched it, but I think I will in the future.

I played all the games and read the books. I can ignore all the other stuff but the three choices is what got to me. So basically just going to play the old games. This series is pretty much dead to me.

They burned every established franchise just to replace them. No. That, I cannot forgive. If Bioware burns Dragon Age I will not be forgiving them. Postpone the game and remove the ulcer I suspect is in there. I see the red flags.

Mass effect proves beyond all doubt that diverse entertainment can be highly successful. It comes down to the intent. Woke entertainment INTENDS to start fights and push controversy and conflict. They didn’t come to party; they came to fight.

and yah, Cassandra had some very tender and vulnerable moments, deep into the game. She's as all in as her class. Indifferent until she realises you're serious, and its actually a wholesome pairing. You feel the stakes lift and her perspective shift on some important interrupts. - She's never an idiot.
Cassandra wasn't a Templar. She was a Seeker and didnt ingest Lyrium. Cullen was a Templar and did ingest Lyruim. The Dragon Age series is my favorite game series besides The Witcher. Im going to buy Dragon Age 4: Failguard used in ebay. They dont deserve my money.
My back catalogue will keep me entertained for years ... I can wait for the course correction.
