The filter and catback so nothing for hp gains so not really needed. And plenty of people enjoy more than 450whp daily. A Downpipe and hpfp upgrade are the default mods to get the most out of a stock turbo tune.
Is the vargas gc+ really boreing out the housing like you said? I thought that kit replaces both the intake and exhaust side...the pure turbo I can see what you said because you have to send them your original turbo to get it done. Sorry Im just trying to understand.
Hey @kern417 -- I know one of the reasons you like DOC is b/c they use the factory external w/g with the full aftermarket kit and you can run stock and OTS maps. Is that the case with the cold-side and hybrid upgrade options? Is the w/g the biggest issue when having to custom tune an upgraded turbo? Leaning P8 or GC+ but I want to maintain value for all of my FBO upgrades thus far and don't want to rely solely on a custom tune for DD situations.
Yes the hybrid turbos will have a similar response. As always you should love the car when you flash the tune just to make sure everything is working well. My latest video covers my feedback from running the Doc Race kit with an OTS map. Check it out

The vargas gc has been proven but I can't recommend the gc+ until more people show results with it. Currently I'd recommend a pure800 or turbosystems stage 2 over the gc+
depends on your state tbh. You need to know if your state actually puts a sniffer in the exhaust pipe, or do they just read the OBD2. I'm in NC and they only read OBD2 so you can put an O2 sensor offest on the catless DP to clear the code, OR you tune the code off. If your state uses a sniffer, you should stick with a hybrid setup.
It is extremely similar, but it has lower compression so it should handle more boost and lower octane better. It also has better fueling from the start.
@@kern417 Wait, I thought the TU high power has the same compression as the gen 1, and the Supra engine has higher compression. Do you have the exact numbers?

Hi, you seem very knowledgeable, Im not sure but do you know the difference between the b58 in a 440i compared to the new supra or the m340i? I'm looking to get a 17 or 18 440i but is it worth it to wait to get a supra?
The biggest difference is the m340i/supra come with the bigger fuel pump that i swapped into my car. So they can support more power easily. The supra is also lighter, more aerodynamic, wider (fits wider tires), etc. All around it's a better performing car. The m340i will be more comfortable and more practical. So really it just depends on what your needs are.

@@B58_TAYF the bottom end is the same but the cylinder head is different. the new 2021 supra will share the same b58 thats in the m340i now. the b58 in the f series cars have a 6 port exhaust manifold like in the new g20 m340i but the cylinder head design and whats inside is probally different and more efficient but i dont know for sure. the current 2020 supra shares the same engine, or at least the same cylinder head design as the non M g series vehicles with the b58 with the two port exhaust manifold so like the x5, 540i 840i im pretty sure.

Don't mount a turbo at the engine's head level, it will cook it. Oil leaks, dried gaskets, etc guaranteed. Always mount it away from the top of the engine as far as possible.
@@DD-hj3sj I own one, but it doesn't pack turbos at the head level or inside the V like BMW and Mercedes have done previously causing major issues and finally a lawsuit against them for the heads getting cooked.

They aren't boring out the housing but the final product is the same. A bigger wheel in a stock-sized housing. They just cast their own manifolds.

@@badass1g a custom tune can get you there easily. ditch carbahn and get BM3, MHD, or MG Flasher

I have 6speed rwd and wouldn't have it any other way, but auto awd will be faster every time. It just depends on what your priorities are
ZF8 shifts way better, and you can flash it with xhp stage3 so shifting times are reduced and keeps your power high

I hava a 19 440i stock turbo and am pushing 500whp and 524lbt with bm3 E30 stage 2+Dorch Hpfp and methanol injection 💉 🤭🤭🤯
