I think there might be a sweet (cost effective) spot at upgraded injectors, down pipe, stage 2 HPFP & hybrid turbo. Say US$6500 & stay within the safe limits of mani, trans & engine
Im on stage 2+ MHD RON 98 pump gas with TU pump and downpipe. So if i upgrade to pure 800 cast turbo TU pump would be okey to support 550-580Hp as i dont intend to go beyond these numbers?
Do you think upgrading Direct injectors and Intake Manifold as a “safety” upgrade is worth it? Setup:Daw 6466 upgraded turbo, pushing around 650 Hp) .Dorch stage 2.5 .Motiv reflex .pure drive train stage 1 .flex fuel tune .Cold air intake
Hey kern looking to get some parts to get custom tuned. Would running pi doing a stage 3 lpfp and then a tu pump stock injectors be a decent setup? And would that be safe on stock turbo I plan on running that for 6 months or so till I go pure850 I think, will that setup work?
If you run 93 octane but swap out for a 10.25:1 or 10:1 compression ratio would you still hit octane limits before fueling? I don’t have any E85 accessible to me and everyone says octane boosters do terrible things to your engine, idk what to do.
If I wanted to comfortably max out my stock transmission and engine reliably to daily drive on my gen2B58, that would mean around 650HP and 650lbft torque right Kern (or could I go higher torque with a custom transmission tune?)? The best and cheapest way too achieve this would be pure800 with an intake manifold that supports port injection correct? stock injectors and LPFP should be good with that if I'm running E50 right?
@@kern417 not gonna lie after doing hella research and watching ton of your videos I cancelled the PG intake manifold and decided to go with turbo/hpfp instead. Just can’t decide between the DAW flowmax or the new Vargas VTT GC-MID. Apparently the MID is made for TU engine and can support 650hp and is like $1k cheaper than DAW. Just haven’t seen any data on it or bimmerposts.
hey kevin. Do you think i can get a black friday deal on an intake manifold? Which intake manifold would you suggest. I had Evolution of Speed in mind for the a90 mkv.
Port Injection costs way more than 2k, I only see that happening with an AIC controller. With reflex and all parts are around 3500 or more. Installed most pricing is 4-5k
@@kern417 Don't forget the harness that will cost you another 1K, and most go for larger than 750cc injectors which is another 400 for the common 1050. If you manually wire everything and install it yourself I guess you could get there, but that will apply to very few owners.
See the quick chart I made at 20:01 to make picking your mods simple based on your hp goals. Hope this helps
Is the chart factoring in stock turbos? Or is the chart just based on what the individual part is capable of?
@@ProducaGraham turbo doesn't matter. It's just how much fuel the part can flow.

As always, another great video on the fuel system.

First. Still here for the knowledge. Even though I'm on the gen2 B58 now.

what might be an estimated safe limit on trans and engine??
@@RAFARCHmotorsportstrans, about 750-800 newton meters if u have the hp75. And b58 can handle about 750-800 wheel
Thanks you’ve helped me decide what path to take 💜
Really useful video. Like the chart.
Appreciate it
Thx for great summary

Can you do a video about the benefits of using Race Gas on the Gen 1 and Gen 2 B58’s?
Sure
What’s the power range you make with a hybrid like Pure/Daw and Port with no LPFP
Would you get lpfp first?
Depends on fuel but on an ethanol mix the stock lpfp can support 650-700
Hey I’m on the daw 6466 at around 27 psi and my hpfp fx-200 is maxed out…any idea how to get around that?
Injectors + cam, or sell the fx-200 and buy port
that fly in on a stage 4 hpfp
And with PureTurbos 😂
I’ve got a model year 2020 (built early 2019, owned since august 2020. Is it possible I’ve got a TU pump, how can I tell?

Yes but the limits will be higher. It's easier to just add meth injection
When replacing Fuel injector do you have to reset the adaptation? or is it just a plug n play kind of deal.
Stock are plug and play. Upgraded require custom settings in the tune.

I would lower torque to keep the trans happy and yes that could work

Yes you can

So for 650whp-700whp on gen 2 b58 would port injection be better?
Direct injection is safer. Port injection is cheaper. Just depends on your budget and priorities.
@@kern417 Was leaning towards direct injection, for lpfp on the gen 2 b58 what options are there?
Precision raceworks, visconti, vader solutions
Does changing the fuel pump decrease mpg?
Depends on your right foot
Released this video at the perfect time. Just got a DAW 2.5+ and am looking to get in the 550-600 park. Do you happen to know if it's possible on 93?
Definitely will need port injection
It will be difficult. Most people end up around 500-550.
And no, you don't need port injection
@@kern417 What about an E30/50 mix with TU pump?
@@kern417 so when do u start recommending port 600+?
That can get you north of 550. My best dyno was 590 but that was with a lot of fine tuning.
