I can't understand how this has literally no views. I love this Debbie Gibson jam so much. This is my all-time favorite Debbie Gibson song ever! She was the most refreshing, positive and upbeat person of the '80's. She could do it all and can do no wrong. Love this song.
I just put this on to try to see if it was really as bad as I thought it was at the time. It is. I loved Debbie Gibson on her previous two albums, she tried to change direction to be "cool" but wasn't. Maybe a few people liked it - the majority of her fanbase did not.
Yeah, I don't understand it. It's a really uplifting song. You'd think it would have many more views. Maybe Debbie was too strait-laced for the hipsters. She did come off like a preacher's daughter if I remember correctly. She definitely wasn't a "bad" girl. Wow, it seems so long ago. I hope she's doing well.
R.I.P. to legendary songwriter Lamont Dozier (of Motown's Holland-Dozier-Holland fame). Lamont co-wrote the song with Debbie and was also in the video. Lamont passed away today (8/9/22) at the age of 81.
“Anything is Possible” is my favorite DG song of all. Makes me want to go down her Rabbit Hole and listen to all her songs. It has a sound indicative of 1986-1988 which had faded by the time of the very early 90s which explains why it didn’t do so well on the charts. I remember it received heavy air play for about 2 weeks especially at night and I never knew who sung back then but I knew the words and never heard it again. Now I’m finding out it was Debbie Gibson. WOW!!
I agree with all the comments on here. I just discovered her and I am amazed at her talent I cant believe she wrote all her own songs and produced them too. At 17. She was just a gifted child that was meant to make amazing music
This song would've popped off if it was released a year or two earlier, by the time it made it to television (1991) it already sounded dated, a shame because today you can really appreciate the nuances of the song itself with all its talented musicians and vocalists. Funnily enough, if it was released today it would surely reach number 1.
I'm pretty sure if youtube existed in the 80s.....it wouldve boosted any song that was a potential hit....it helped Taylor Swift and her voice is just so plain but her songs are great. Debbie Gibson has a great voice.
Despite her third album "Anything Is Possible" being considered a flop. it went Gold and the title track was a moderate hit, charting at #26 on the Hot 100
@@VanielDeeform Atlantc Records didn't promote "Anything Is Possible" album as much compared to her first two, radio/MTV ignoring most of the singles for whatever reason, changing music trends/competition, and Debbie Gibson being pigeonholed as a pop princess/not taken seriously (the Milli Vanilli scandal that caused backlash against pop singers also might've contributed as well) Also marketing since I've always thought Deb had potential to crossover to Adult Contemporary radio/VH1 with her knack of balladry and her two Billboard Hot 100 #1 being ballads. Though unfortunately teen pop singers weren't taken as seriously in regards of their talent and only a few were successful as adults (ie MJ, George Michael) Atlantic wanted her to have an edgy/sexual image, which led them to have more control over her music (ie recording "Body Mind Soul" instead of the scrapped "Different Time" album)
WHAT AN AMAZING SONG!!! Debbie voice, male backing vocals, lyrics, instruments, tune and music video, it is a true masterpiece, I didn't know this song of Debbie, I just loved it at first hearing. I bet this awesome song was recorded between '87 and '89, the bass didn't sound to a 1990 song, but late 80's. Transition from 80's to 90's is the 2nd best musical transition in my opinion (the first place goes for 70's to 80's). P.D.: Debbie Gibson deserves much much more recognition!! EDIT: I didn't know about Lamont Dozier (backing vocals here), excellent job, RIP and an ovation to his memory.
I could picture this bop used during an 80s action movie training montage; Van Damme doing the splits or some kind of Goonies rip-off, the kids executing up the plan, riding their bicycles back and forth 💯
My top 2 songs of hers for me is this one and Electric Youth. 💙😇. Faith, Hope, Knowing change is coming throughout our Universe, for the better, and LOVE to all

November 20th will mark the 30th anniversary of Deb's third album and the title track was released as a single on November 13th, 1990. From the bad promotion from Atlantic to changing music trends/competition, the album became very much forgotten. With her knack of balladry, especially both her Billboard Hot 100 #1 being ballads, she could've easily crossed over to adult contemporary radio/VH1 if had been marketed to the AC market. Though for some reason, Atlantic wanted her image to be edgy/sexier and would later have more control over her music. (ie nixing "Different Time" for "Body Mind Soul") There were artists close to Deb's style from Wilson Phillips, Cathy Dennis, and Amy Grant's pop crossover that were popular in 1990/1991. A bit baffling in retrospect.
Completely agree! For those of us that lived it, 90/91 brings to mind the change from stadium rock to grunge, especially 91 with Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. Yet there was that female adult contemporary, singer/songwriter undercurrent that DG could have totally been a part of. Such a shame. I think of her as our 80s Taylor Swift. So much talent!
I always liked Debbie Gibson. This was another song that I enjoyed. This was back when I was 20 going on 21. Times were simpler and more care free. I need a Time Machine.🫶🏾😉

This peaked at #26 on Billboard in 1991. Should have been Top 10.
#15 here in Canada
Should have hit #1, but I think the music on radio was changing and this did not get as much airplay.
Anything is possible.hahaha.well is true.girl with very good mind
It got to 15 in Canada. You are right the charts were full of junk in 1991 and this should have done better.
Should have been no 1 in uk too but atlantic records mucked up promotion in the uk

Thank you not to forget
Voice of an angel.. Had biggest crush on her.. Now I just think she is most beautiful lady
Same here and I still do have a crush on her
One of my fave Debbie Gibson tracks.....co-written, and produced by the late, great Lamont Dozier...R.I.P. Lamont
This is Debbie's best uptempo in my opinion. Great Melody, lyrics and her voice sounds great alongside Lamont's backings.
It's my favorite I'm always listening to it on spotify
@Nick I agree. This song is in my Top 3. Play The Field Is my absolute favorite. ❤️🎤
It's slick and sexy - should have been a top 10 smash.
Deb co-wrote this with Lamont
Fr the 80s to the 90s, there's no song u can't hear fr Debbie that is not music to any ears .. She's simply fabulously fantabulous ..
Love this song. Always did.
My all time favorite Debbie Gibson song!!!
This is one of my favourite songs. Takes me right back to my 1990 to 1993 days.
Loooove Debbie Gibson!! She is and always will be fabulous!!😊
Vocally it's one of my favorites song and video clip from Debbie's Gibsons hits, I will never get fed up of her music voice and cutie face,
The more I listen to this song, the more I like it.... I agree it should've been more popular
“Anything is Possible” is my favorite DG song of all. Makes me want to go down her Rabbit Hole and listen to all her songs.

Happy 30th Anniversary Anything Is Possible!
Awesome song. Debbie Gibson you are Absolutely Gorgeous Lady and one of my favorite singers ever. Love this song so much
Loved this album. Helped me through a very tough time in my life. ❤️
From 87 to 90 there was a big change in pop música and we can see this in debbie. Woa
I wish today's music was still great like this. I thought this song was amazing back then, well it's still amazing.
Los mejores años de mi vida los 80'S..sigue siendo bella y talentosa hasta hoy...Dios te bendiga por siempre DEBBIE GIBSON...un ochentero de corazón.
Debbie is ICONIC ✨
She’s Hot in this video and She was very underrated for her vocals!!
Anything is possible. Great! I'll remember that.
I love this song and, one of my favorites. It's so positive, upbeat and, encouraging. "Not every guy is a bad guy, not stereotype". Is best line

She worked with Lamont Dozier on this one. This was the first time she collaborated with anyone.
She worked with Fred Zarr on the first two albums.
Pity this wasn't a bigger hit for Debbie as it's a great song.

I LOV3 Debbie ! She is an amazing entertainer. Very versatile!
Despite her third album "Anything Is Possible" being considered a flop. it went Gold and the title track was a moderate hit, charting at #26 on the Hot 100
Agreed. "One Step Ahead" (Single) No. #18 - US - Dance Charts
Why do you think it didn’t do as well?

When the 60's meets the 90s. LOVED THIS VIDEO BACK THEN AND LOVE IT NOW!
Listening to this great song in January 2021 ❤️🇸🇪 Anna from Sweden
The guitar intro still gives me goosebumps till today, what a great decade the 90s was..
Awesome song with a great message.
This is the first time I’ve heard of this song. Thumbs up!

Record labels suck, often. It doesn't seem like they even tried to promote this album, as it should have been a big one for Debbie.
One good thing is Deb got to collaborate with Lamont Dozier on this album.
If Debbie make contract with Sony Vevo music
51 in the UK. I was 14 at the time and very into music. Don't recall hearing it so presume it didn't get promoted properly
Wow..Cute Hair..Fun Video..Remember her in Tampa, Florida...It was for the Gasparilla Parade Entertainment..Great Talent as always
I could picture this bop used during an 80s action movie training montage; Van Damme doing the splits or some kind of Goonies rip-off, the kids executing up the plan, riding their bicycles back and forth 💯

A warm, not cold vibe
When he looked in my eyes
(oh yeah, it's possible)
His bad boy front not charm
Was his disguise
Oh whoa whoa

He read so much into me
Listened so attentively
He liked me, i rest my case

A-M-E-N !!!!!!!
Amazing singer!
Anything was possible in the 80,s !
What does that have to do with a music video that was released in ‘91?
Recorded in 1989 ! Released 1990 !!

The music overpowers the vocals
I'm watching now for the first time this video. Didn't know for this before. It sounds like mel&kim songs. Anyway, Debbie's first two albums were fabulous!
This was such a mature and gorgeous new look for Debbie. Just stunning.
It's sad that changing music trends at that time made this great song appear like a mere remnant of the 80s.
Should've got more air played. Under rated and tied of my favorite next to Foolish Beat.
When you have Lamont Dozier and Carlos Alomar working with you, then you know you're doing something right.
Carlos Alomar on this album and in the video. Great guitarist that's worked with David Bowie.
I remembere when I was 17 that was 1997 .....now am 40 a lot of memories God still love her
can't wait to find out how cherry red will expand this album in their new series of reissues

Al revés. Y fue mucho más.
