Lyrics:
Red roses, temptation
You make the most of a ify situation
I'm weighing my decision
Who's to say if it's love, or if it isn't?
Only time will tell
Just how well, I'll get to know you
Don't mean to lead you on
But I want to take it slowly, slowly
So, don't rush me
I've made that mistake before, oh
Don't rush me
This love could be so much more
It's well worth the waiting for
Girl has got some pipes, taylor swift my ass
No autotune , genuine and unique voice
Taylor Dayne guitarist Tommy Byrnes, awesome Taylor Dayne guitarist. He has been playing for Billy Joel since 1993 and finally went in to the Hall of Fame. Most dont know him by name tho.
Do you know the name of the backup vocal lady singer is in this video?😊
@@lorrieconklin7796 Diane Jones. She also sang back up for Guns N Roses
Saw her yesterday fantastic she still sounds great today is her birthday March 7th happy birthday Taylor Dayne love you always your greatest fan stanli
❤️❤️❤️
What a voice, what an arrangement, what a sound.^^ This is real music.
I'm so glad I grew up in the 80s.
Me too :)
I was very young in the 80’s, but I remember the late part of it well. As a child then, I can’t think of a better decade to grow up in. The cartoons and the movies were awesome, and don’t even get me started on the video games and music. I feel sorry for today’s younger generations that they did not get to experience the 1980’s. All they know is a world with social media and smart phones, which is sad. I feel privileged I grew up before those things existed.
80’s movies and music were the best !
We are the chosen ones
Me too but who really played any instruments? 😂
This was filmed at the old Capitol Theatre in Passaic. My boyfriend at the time and I were extras in the audience. This was a great time. Very exciting to be a part of the making of this video back in the day.
+Jennifer “Moneymakinmom” McFadden Thanks for sharing that! Be neat if we could pick u out in audience. Any location in video to spot you?
+DJRckwl - 2:37 in the background its really a quick shot but that was me. Big hair in the 80's. :)
Jennifer McFadden The blond looking left? Dark shirt, black wristwatch?
Yep thats me!
Sweeeet ....u get to meet Taylor?
She's so amazing!! People don't give her props enough. All her songs are so great!!
Yes I agree her songs where catchy and she had a look which stood out for the better, mind you when I replicated it once I didn't get the desired effect , I think the heels where to much for the outfit 😫 oh well lesson learned. 😀 !!
nah nah nah noooo! I love this track!!! oh being a child of the 80s meant we were truly spoilt for talent. Go Taylor!
The good old times..! How I miss it..!
Me too...
Agree with you million percent
Omgggg I just heard this song for the first time playing while I'm shopping at Vons ❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 added to my favorites 😂
NO GAMES DONT RUSH ME 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Taylor Dayne is not underestimated as a singer as you write. She is one of the greatest singers of the 1980's era when the competition was huge.
Today we are in 2023 and her songs at least in my country are constantly heard. At that time there was Taylor Dayne, Whitney Houston, Sandra, Madonna, Jenifer Rush, Gloria Estefan and many others. The biggest name remained Madonna because she did provocative and vulgar things and NOT because she was the best voice in the world.Taylor Dayne rose with dignity to where she is at the moment. It's funny to be called one of the greatest singers in the world underrated.
There is no person involved in music who does not know tell it to my heart, who does not know Don't Rush me, who does not know Prove your love and dozens of other songs by this huge voice.
She was my favorite in the 80s
Man that bass line carries the song so beautifully for her vocals to shine through. It’s so powerful 💪🏽
am I going crazy or is it the same bassline as Papa Don't Preach by Madonna??
@@davidd.6448I just noticed that! Maybe this song is a sequel. If so, we know what the mistake was that she made before!
@@docjoe86😅
QUEEN of raw vocal tone. Such raw power and emotion in her voice. Love it. If this came out today they'd auto-tune her!
I heard Taylor Dayne in concert around 1991 at Golden Gate Fields. One of the best vocal performers I have ever heard in my 65 years of life. Her band was awesome too.
This song never gets old in my opinion. Talk about power vocals, she sang the hell out of this song. Amazing
To her credit, she sang the hell out of a lot of her songs. You have to admire her passion.
She sang the hell out of EVERY song she sang!
You know who else sang the shit out of this song, me drunk off my ass on pina coladas at karaoke last night. Standing Ovation I think. I nailed it!!!
@@jacobsteele7138
Sing chile 😁😜
@@ttaylor21208 Here from that same night is a little R&B I sang. ua-cam.com/video/od24KppzWWQ/v-deo.html
Her voice is amazing. Love the guitarist and Taylor's interactions.
Who is the guitarrisr?
@@bonjovisaltaTommy Byrnes, actualmente guitarrista de Billy Joel. Saludos.
This woman is one of the single most under rated vocalists of our age. Because she refused to sell out to certain "agendas" she was shut out even with a huge pile of #1 hits that stayed at the top of the charts. I met her in 2008 and have always kept that as one of my best music memories. I always wish her MUCH MORE success than what she has been given.
What "agenda" are you referring to ?
She was signed by Clive Davis, the same man who signed Whitney and Aretha.
I always felt the label didn't give Taylor the same promo and push they gave their other artists.
I know her third album (Soul Dancing) tanked, maybe that hard something to do with it.
Que bien
Not sure exactly what agenda you're referring to. But I would say she struggled to really stand out for several reasons: Madonna was the indomitable pop powerhouse at the time, Whitney was the indomitable vocalist, Mariah came right along a few years later, Janet was strong, and Taylor's image didn't resonate. I love, love, love Taylor, but she was always in the backseat while other women were driving and shifting gears. Not a knock, just a reality.
She was a major hit at the time, there's even a platium hit album. I think you want your music taste to be esoteric so you're creating this fantasy that makes her more than the pop star that was played once an hour on main stream radio stations. By the way I think she is amazing
@@senorgato70 The music industry does make decisions based on harm to profits rather than just talent. Wendy Moten had a lot but because Whitney was already there, they weren't going to promote too many choices.
This lady had game big time. Doesn't get the props she deserves! Thankyou Taylor for my childhood, adolescent memories!
Now, THIS IS TALENT! beautiful and powerful voice!
I agree. It's as if there is some edict saying that anyone who can actually sing isn't allowed to be heard on the radio these days.
I agree!!!! :)
Like a girl Elvis. PowDerful vocal$!
There is a lot of good music made these days. I can see a bunch of people looking at this, Stacy Q, and Glenn Medeiros, and going 'The 60's had real music, not this cheesy keyboard crap.' Every generation is going to fall in love with an era and become that guy.
Her talent doesn't diminish the abilities of current pop singers. 🙄
Aw, the sound of my childhood. When I get bored with today's music, I always come back to "the oldies" -- Yes, kids ARE calling it "the oldies" now.
Taylor is one of the underrated singers of her time! Her voice is distinctive and powerful...I love her!
+Mason Garett And she was extremely versatile. She can easily sing any genre.
TheLanard You are so right...I love Taylor Dayne and all the songs in her catalog!
Me too. When I heard, "Tell It To My Heart", I thought to myself, "This girl's different." That song sounded just like all the other Latin-infused songs out at the time. But she had the best voice. It wasn't until "I'll Always Love You" came out until I bought the CD. She did even better on her second album, in my opinion.
+Mason Garett Not sure why you would say she was underrated, she was always recognized as having one of the greatest voices of her time.....or ANY time.
Black folks embraced her. But Taylor had some serious competition in the late 80's. Madonna, Paula Abdul, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner. That was back when there were more than 2 superstars at a time.
That’s my grandmother singing back up for Taylor ❤ .. this song is amazing !
🔥🔥🎵🎵
♡♡ I always wondered her name she is beautiful. what is her name? Did she continue singing back up?
@@lorrieconklin7796her name is Diane and she eventually turned away from the music industry due to religious reasons . She did continue to sing though .
@@lorrieconklin7796thank you 🥰 she is still so stunning and talented!!
Always thought she added so much to this video, Her smiles, dancing, singing, outfit and stunning looks, help make this one of my favorite live performances. Glad to here she is still rockin. Some of us grand parents work hard to fit & trim. ❤
22 January 2025! Who else is here?
Did she ever disappoint? NOPE! I pray Taylor finds a whole new generation of fans...she deserves it :)
Definitely time for a Taylor playlist! She had so many hits that she deserves to be enjoyed in a stand alone compilation.
I already made one. She's amazing.
Amazing powerful voice. Brings back great memories of the 80’s
Growing up in the 80s was a gift. I remember, seeing her live in Chicago right when this dropped and that woman could own the crowd. Great flashback!
She's beautiful her voice is magical.
Words are so true in ALL walks of life! What a gem!! Thank you 🙏.
Her beauty touches me personally
Taylor Dane is a knockout in those curls and those eyes WOW! I keep coming back to this song! I love this video, I wish there was an extended version that people can jam to!
I work in a grocery store, and this is one of the songs that’s played in the store. Good music makes the day go faster, and makes it fun as well
Her voice is POWERFUL!!💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
this woman has always drove me crazy with her voice and lyrics it's ridiculous. I'm 46 now and still get high of her. Ooof mama!
Taylor's amazing here-- but that guitar player, he's the Epic Guitar Guy!! 🔥🔥
She was popcorn in the masked singer revealed tonight... and now I’ve added all her music to my Apple Music collection! Ugh! I LOVE her!!!
What a voice, what a diva. Taylor Dayne God Bless You
This music will never get too old to listen to
80's is the decade music was born and 90's the decade it died.
Very well said and agreed 👍
❤ I agree with you 💯 percent that this song never gets old so don't rush me ❤️
The man in red in the front at 2:56 is what this song is about. Pure letting go...and Taylor herself brings it all together at 3:04. Pure music.
Lyrics are a reason love her music
Man, what a set of pipes!
Man, I love 80s music. There was so much quality and variety to it. Can't believe I'm 30 years removed from it now. But there are so many good memories every time I hear a song from that time period.
The time has gone so fast. I listen to 80's to bring back the goodness of those days.
Me too and im 31 haha
The 80's was a magical era!!
@@geniewang1242 I was born in 85.

BRING BACK 80'S MUSIC NOW!!!!!
I SECOND THAT!
I THIRD THAT. anyone else?
Quintuple that
Make that sextuple
Yes!!!
My second favorite Taylor Dayne song next to---Tell It To My Heart.
Mine too
I'm right about there, except "Heart Of Stone" I'd throw in for a three-way as TD faves, all gold. x
It’s funny how this charted higher but people more people know that “Tell it to My Heart” is her signature song.
Taylor Dane is an amazing singer.
It was a dream come true when I met Taylor this past Saturday. Definitely a bucket list meeting.
nothing like 80's music and the 90's
A great February, 1989 hit! Good to hear at 2:30 in the morning!
oh gosh how I used to dance to Taylor's music
In my 50's and just gotta have my Taylor Dayne fix. Grateful for this up on UA-cam.
Está una de La mejores canciones de los años finales de los ochentas La recuerdo muchísimo por siempre mietra tenga vida
Man 80s please come back baby.
Amazing music of the 80s❤️
most underrated performer ever. sad.
I never understood why she didn’t become mainstream famous. She could SING!
No school better then old school :)
Don't rush me. Man I came up on this music. You have to listen
Every song I have heard her sing was always Amazing! Pure Talent!
My favorite Taylor Dayne song!
I love the ballads too but this one is ev..e.r.y.t.h.in.g.
It's her Papa don't Preach!
🤣
This beautiful LADY has super class.Just listen to that voice.
There was no such thing as "Don't rush me" before the release of this song. Guys just did whatever they wanted. Taylor Dayne literally taught women how to play hard to get, for the first time in recorded history
I'm 40 something and I still love her. How can it be that after all these year I'm still in love with her talent, her music and her voice. GO Leslie!
The love and respect I have for this generation of music even though I was born 85 in beyond Phenomenal!
What a energy in her voice!! Wonderful!!!
Taylor is among the best. Artists like her in the 80s were just so awesome. I love the 80s. Before technotrash. Just real music with so much life.
Taylor wasn't afraid to belt it out. Such a strong beautiful voice.
I was 8yr old when this came out, still have a crush on Taylor Dayne 😊
Taylors voice is Soul. Pure, unadulterated Soul. This womans vocals are like Angels singing into your being. She was quite popular and IMo Madonna and Whitney couldnt hold a Candle too her. I stand by this statement too this day. In my World Taylor still reigns and quite handily.
The 70s and 80s and early 90s were the best music there be who ever remember these classics need to to get a life
One of my favorite Guitar solos back in the late 80's
That energy when singing transcends the screen. Few singers have this strength and talent. This aspect of Taylor Dayne is also in Whitney Houston and Tina Turner. Without a doubt Taylor Dayne is one of the best singers of all time. I look forward to new albums in the future. She is one of a kind
Underated vocalist
I've always thought that too.
You stole my thunder and you're right on the money.
eh I don’t really see how she’s underrated. She’s always been big money even right now
She had an amazing and powerful singing voice.
Powerful
She still tours. Does she suck now? She hacked her face all to hell unfortunately.
Still does!!
"DESIRE MEANS DANGER, I WANT A LOVER, NOT ANOTHER STRANGER".."DON'T RUSH ME, I'VE MADE THAT MISTAKE BEFORE",,,"CAUSE BABY YOUV'E GOT EVERYTHING I'VE BEEN DREAMING OF"
Always loved her hair 😊
ONE OF TAYLOR DAYNE’S ALL TIME BEST SONGS!!! NOBODY ELSE HAS THE LUNGS TO MAKE THIS SONG STAND OUT LIKE TAYLOR DAYNE DOES!!! AN INSTANT CLASSIC!!!
Everybody brought their A game , to play , sing , and dance. What a great video !! Go Taylor Dayne , you rock !! 💯%
Is it too early, or too late, to petition that Taylor Dayne (and her company) be inducted into the Rock and Roll's Hall of Fame ??? They seriously belong in there; and not a moment later :)
I've had this song stuck in my head for 30 years and never knew who sang it. Childhood memory finally unlocked 🔓
Same here
Her voice was so powerful!! 💖
Thank you for sharing this video.great voice, great song.god bless you....
Heard this in truck stop in OKlahoma last night, Thanks "Loves Truck stop" for the great memory flashbacks !!
You were the only poster on my wall when I was a teenager, coming from a strict Sicilian family.
Damn can Taylor belt it out!!!!
What a voice! ❤
Powerful, strong voice … so underrated
Miss TAYLOR DAYNE certainly made her mark and blew up the charts for a few years.Funny how some artist one hit wonders never continue on.
Beautiful Song from Taylor Dayne. One of the best singers from the 80s. ohh love so much the 80s :):)
Back then Taylor was the real deal, the total package. Voice, looks, stage presence and a real woman! Nowadays you got Swift and Miley. Bubblegum kids.
I got to buy this girl's cd man,she is pretty good and pretty,I missed her in the 80's..shit of today can't match this kind of talent.
Last night this song came on at my workplace and it made my day. I'm working at a supermarket now thanks to covid. Manager went on vacation, people are calling out, and there I was cleaning up by myself after working 13 hours. So besides being rewarded with overtime pay, I also get to listen to Taylor Dane at work.
A Staple Of The 80's !!!!! I Miss Her !!!!!
This was our end of times when music was real pure music and Taylor Dayne performance of "Don't Rush Me." It shows it. She didn't get the recognition that she deserve when it comes to her talent, but she pour a lot of passion and blended beautifully soul to her music at this day age, Up and coming new singers need to take notes on this because great talent of artist are hard to find, And it shows it with her music.
True that
She did not have good representation.
Her people didn't know how to market her or how to pick and find the best songs for her.
Noted music mogul Clive Davis signed Taylor but kinda dropped her after her second album, which actually sales wise did even better than her first.
"Love Will Lead You Back" and "I'll Be Your Shelter" both hit #1.
Yess
Definitely a blend of late 80s and early 90s style. Crazy how the style changed so rapidly.
Crazy chick but one of the greatest and most underrated singers and people in the US.
❤ am allways missing the 80s music and we had some of the best time's of our life's so much fun
She has the signature powerful voice similar to Tina Turner.. and they'll always be goddesses to me.... Shiiiiiii I had posters of them on my wall as a kid..
