  • So after adjusting six off my eight valves i was having an unstable idle I did play with tune ECU my fault.
I hope you all get something from this video I did need to sync my throttle bodies after the valve adjustment and I do believe like other gen one models same engine or crank rotation 420 degrees the rear has to turn the engine and 300 on the front so the rear has more work to do so needs a bigger hit or more fuel and air thats how I've set my other ones up and they are silky smooth low down near tick over.
All ended well quite some interesting idle trims on tune ECU .
And these bikes are heavy when you drop them .
just a quick note I may have the vacuum set correct I've been told less vacuum equals more air so if that is the case I do have more air going into the rear cylinder which is F1 on tune ECU which appears to have more fuel .
And another quick note I rode this bike to the Pico's mountains with this map two up with full luggage and at a constant 75 mph I achieved 54 mpg ,on the motorways, and when the throttle was opened in the mountains with high altitude it had great power .

It's online and free I did try catfish which was great apart from a stumble on warm up I could have adjusted it but tried the swordfish which is meant to be a bit more punchy but I can tell you two up with luggage going to the picos mountains in Spain we got 54 mpg at a constant 75 mph on the motorway M25 so very happy

Sounds like it’s running allot better now. It’s all a bit alien to me, not enough cylinders for my wheel house 🤯

The rear pot F1 on tune ECU fuels more than f2 the front pot so I got it right less vacuum=more air , so my rear pot has more fuel and air to turn the engine 420 degrees ,the front pot f2 on tune ECU turns the engine or crank 300 degrees .

Brill, really looking forward to tinkering with ECUTune, especially after the valves adjustment. I have bought the windows 10 kit ready to go but won’t touch it till I get this dash sorted (one way or the other).
I’m replacing the caps again for an aluminium electrolytic type; the dash goes out after a minute or so. Ive read the standard ones are not stable enough for this design of regulator ic, so fingers crossed & I’ll replace the regulator if needed after that.
Really don’t want to have to buy a replacement..
Anyway your bike sounds like a swiss watch, really nice to see what can be done ✅

Good luck just don't fall off it 😉.
A friend had a BMW gs1200 we swapped bikes and I was revving that GS out and couldn't get near the capo with that swordfish map .
