Needless to say there is an incredible body of work by Supertramp but my personal favorite and in a dead heat for greatest rock song ever in my (not so) humble opinion with Down Payment Blues by AC/DC would be Asylum from the Crime Of ThIe Century album
John Helliwell is my favorite Sax player. He is quite tall (I believe 6'5") with very long blonde hair standing center stage blowing his sax....AWESOME
I love your facial expressions! You wouldn't even have to say one word, your face says it all. I've been lucky to see this amazing group at least 3 times if not more. They are just as fantastic live as as on vinyl, yes, I'm that old 😊 Crime of the Century is probably my favourite albums but I love all of their music.
The L.A. Forum 1984..... The house lights go dark, for about 10 seconds, then a spot light hits Rick Davies sitting at a black grand piano , he looks at the crowd and smiles, then turns and puts his hands on the piano and hits the first notes of this song and the crowd goes wild roaring our approval. I have been fortunate enough to have seen Supertramp “The Tramp” Live 4 times. Their live shows are a spectacle and brilliant. Each member is a musical genius. Rick Davies is my favorite keyboards player and John Helliwell is favorite Sax player. He is a blast to watch live. The bass and drummer are awesome and Roger’s guitars are superb. The only live show I put above Supertramp is Pink Floyd, who I have seen 4 times.
Thanks for the comment. I turned JM on to Supertramp last year with the live (Video Train Ride) "Rudy"... then "Child Of Vision"... now has 13 from them....COOL
One of my all time favourite bands. Supertramp is to keyboards, what Pink Floyd is to guitars. I saw Supertramp twice, 30+ years apart and they were just as amazing the second time as they were the first. Their concerts are amazing. The sound is perfect, it is a real treat for the ears. Hey from Canada 👍🎸😎🙏🇨🇦
I'm always happy to serve my Favorite Customer another Delicious Treat from our exceptional menu here at The Classic Rock/Classics Restaurant. Glad you enjoyed it, I knew you would, the first time I recommended this group last year. On The House, as usual.
I feel so happy sometimes watching people react to and enjoy songs I've known for over 40 years cuz I'm and old mfr 😆 the whole Even In The Quietest Moments album is excellent!!
Supertramp is amazing writing, both musically and lyrically. Great to watch you discover them! Please check out "The Logical Song" if you haven't already. Thanks for another positive and upbeat reaction, you are my new music reaction favorite!!
Gotta check out "Downstream" from this album!!! A very underrated JEM!!! For me a tear jerker 😢, in a good way. An AWESOME tune to share with a special one in your life!!
The title track is still my all-time favorite song, right above Dear Prudence (Beatles) and Good Vibrations (Beach Boys.) All I Need by Awolnation is in the mix somewhere.
There is a song on that particular album it's a one word title and it starts with a 'B' cannot pronounce it or spell it but it's an amazing song ! You cannot go wrong with Supertramp !
@@scorpius4881, I'm 62 so I've been listening to Supertramp since I was 15 ! About 20 years ago I got the word Supertramp tattooed across my entire collarbone that's how much I love that band ! I see Roger every year when he comes to Saint Louis ! It's kind of a shame that he's been reduced to playing Casinos !?
One of the best bands ever. Thanks for playing some great '70s classics. ✌️❤️🤟🥁

Finally! One of their best, in my opinion!
YES !! Great Album to Dive into !!
Plus a great album COVER! (that is the Breckenridge, Colorado ski area in the distance.....no photoshop! a real piano, real snow)
One of the best live performances I’ve had the honor to attend. They were amazing.
They are in my top 5 all-time concerts.
4 times for me. Took two Ladies who never heard them before and they LOVED them now
John Helliwell is my favorite Sax player. He is quite tall (I believe 6'5") with very long blonde hair standing center stage blowing his sax....AWESOME
The drums are so subtle,...but his timing is so good on this one. Love when he comes in with that high hat and snare at 4:18.

always luvd this one, how the slow beat and piano matces the sombre lyrics😊
Awesome......haven't heard it in 30 years......or more.....such an underrated band.
"My Life Is Full Of Romance"
Fabulous song. This is a great but very overlooked album.

Yes they are my favourite group..but there more than that
Amazing song
James Bond breaks in to do the interluding instrumental.
This may be my fav track by them ............but it's like trying to rank your children, isn't it ? :)
That was a fantastic reaction. It helped me appreciate this hidden gem even more.
Another masterpiece JM! ☘️🇺🇲

Loves the Super Tramp! One of my first "favorite" bands as kid. :)
Gotta check out "Downstream" from this album!!! A very underrated JEM!!! For me a tear jerker 😢, in a good way. An AWESOME tune to share with a special one in your life!!
Great song and great analysis of the lyrics! Supertramp was just a bit before my time and only know the big hits; this makes me want to explore more!
The title track is still my all-time favorite song, right above Dear Prudence (Beatles) and Good Vibrations (Beach Boys.) All I Need by Awolnation is in the mix somewhere.
You hear a baby grand piano.
BTW... The photo for the cover was NOT Photo-shopped...Real Thing
@@looking4thepast09 I believe that's right.

Give A Little Bit next off the same album- big hit, on the radio a lot back in the day.
AAAAHHHH YES
Great group. Not a fan of this particular selection though. Take care. Keep searching. 😊
JM has 12 others in the Playlist
Love Supertramp but not a big fan of this song. You really need to react to the title song. One of my favorites.
I'm a big fan if this song so 1:1
