Always love when someone reacts to Supertramp and especially from the Live In Paris 79' videos. Roger Hodgson actually wrote this song 10 years earlier at age 19.
As an encore in 1977 *Supertramp* performed six *unreleased* songs (including this one) from album *Breakfast In America* for only us 12 that bought tickets to their *"Even in the Quietest Moments"* tour concert. Amazing, 12 teens in a 15K seat concert arena at $6.50 CAD per ticket; and they still performed their entire set-list and encored unreleased songs from their next album. Professionals!!!
SUPER COOL. Thanks again JM for doing my second favorite Live band (P.F. is 1) with this iconic song. John Helliwell's horn playing is my favorite. One of the most intelligent and sophisticated bands ever.
After Roger left the Tramp they asked David Gilmour to play lead guitar record on their next album... then Gilmour had Helliwell play Sax on his next album. My two favorite bands to see live. Both famously use a Sax in their music.
Roger's solo album "In The Eye Of The Storm" is AWESOME...His Piano playing is far more simple than Rick's incredible Lead playing. Roger plays guitar similar to Gilmour's style. Hodgson has stated that his departure was motivated by a desire to spend more time with his family and make solo recordings and that there were never any real personal or professional problems between him and Davies, as some people thought.... Check it out when you have time...."Had a Dream (Sleeping with the Enemy)" (8:27) "In Jeopardy" (5:59) "Lovers in the Wind" (4:11) "Hooked on a Problem" (5:10) "Give Me Love, Give Me Life" (7:33) "I'm Not Afraid" (7:03) "Only Because of You" (8:40)
Kippers are small salted, pickled and smoked herrings that are for some reason a tasty breakfast in Britain but they're definitely not trending in America, even Texas 😂
What a great rabbit hole to go down. This was a play of them coming to the states for the first time. Just a good fun song. They were off beat from mainstream music in the 70's with their progressive sound. Some good songs are Shool, Crime of The Century, Child Of Vision and Logical Song.
Your Supertramp playlist needed to have this song.

The Tuba sound is played on a Keyboard that samples sounds...Rick Davies is playing it. My favorite keyboard player.
