You can be a contender and have your championship closed. Just look at Houston on 2017, 2018, 2019. The championship window for that team got closed in those 2018 western conference finals where the 27 straight missed threes buried them alive. Yes, they were contenders in 2019, but it wasn't the same. It was known they weren't winning though they had the material to contend.

y’all are all so focused on the question on the graphic, we know Curry is on another level. But what JJ’s saying about the Suns window not being closed is important. They should be respected as a serious title contender that got better through a couple pickups (McGee would have helped tremendously against the Bucks) and internal development. And like JJ said two incredible defensive plays saved the Bucks multiple times. The point is the Suns should be taken more serious.

And Reddick unfortunately fell for the shifting goal post instead of circling back and nailing him on the original point but he's new to this kind of combative style - he'll get there. Maybe hit up a lawyer or take some debate classes.

Both are true. Half a inch and Brooklyn faces Suns in the finals (no way they don't beat Suns). And the Suns/Bucks series came down to two clutch plays by the Bucks in game 4 and 5. Even game 6 was close. Bucks were the more experienced team and they knew how to win in the clutch.

D Book is nice and I was rooting for them last year in the playoffs but there's no discussion here he's nowhere near Steph's stratosphere and has CP3 to run the show when Book ain't firing. Curry is the show in Golden State. Yeah he has a strong team around him but they are looking so good because of the amount of attention Curry receives. We'll find out where these two teams are tonight.

JJ been on a roll till now. SAS got this one. Steph is a different monster! This warriors team is a different monster. The thing that’s so different with Steph now is, he got a taste of “leading” last year. Taking that young team as far as he did really boosted him. Now that they are a developed squad with true chemistry, he’s just having fun BUT still tapped into a killer mode from last year. (You can even make the argument that he was MVP last year as well, but that’s another story) which makes him SO GOTDAMN SCARY! If they beat or destroy the suns tonight, stamp him now.

lmao but how is JJ wrong? The suns are on a 16 game winning streak. They are second in the west with a game behind the Warriors. It wasn't consensus until recently that the warriors had a chance to win the finals and the suns haven't even gotten any love what's so ever to repeat. Yes Steph is better than Chris Paul but that also doesn't mean he can't create a similar impact to combat with Steph. Both teams matchup very well and I don't think the Suns window just closed like that. I think it just most people like Steph and the Warriors and want them to win the most. It doesn't mean the Suns don't have a chance to get back to the Finals with as much better bench this year.

What’s crazy about this debate is the fact that the Suns have routinely beaten the Bucks ever since they got Ayton. Like 6/7 of the last times they played them.
The difference was the Bucks had been there before. Oh, maybe not the finals, but deep into the playoffs. Even when the Suns were up 2-0, the inevitability of their loss was palpable.

Steph could have easily won 2 of those MVPs but they gave it to Iggy who probably averaged like points a game over steph who averaged 26-6, then steph averaged 29-9-8 and didnt win because of one subpar game. @@ceceroxy2227 Finals MVP has more bearing than All-Star MVP. When people list of accomplishments, Finals MVP is always part of the discussion. Aside from that, Magic still has a better resume than Steph. They are the best of all-time in different aspects of the game, so Steph being a better shooter does not make him better than Magic. So in what world is Steph better than Magic?

Steph is averaging more points in the finals than Kareem, Magic, and Kobe and most others. Even Award and Ring resume's are the not the sole way you judge someones greatness. Steph is one of the great shooters, great passers, great ball handlers, great one on one players, great at moving without the ball, great teammate. To me the most skilled player to ever do it. Has been able to dominate with below average athleticism and size. Really amazing because I predicted he wouldnt even make it in the league.

Great debate here. Love seeing JJ defend his position. But for once, I completely agree with Stephen A. Steph is just on a rampage this year. He's just too consistent. It's nuts how great he's playing.
