LMAO -"We are going to be using Liquid Metal like a normal person"
😂
Only a half joke, you're not supposed to use thermal paste on a modern cpu die because heat density is too high
PS5 APUs use it, so why don't our high end cpus?
@@nerdynumen because thermal paste is perfectly fine for something like a 7800x3D. Heck its fine for basically all CPUs... Unless you are constantly pushing max wattage in stress tests. We have far better cooling with PCs than a console which needs to be almost silent and slim. The difference between thermal paste and liquid metal isnt worth it for most CPUs at all.
PS5 uses liquid metal@@lilpain1997
The sound benefit is the real victory here. I switched to a 360 mm aio from air cooling all my life and I can't believe how quiet things get.
This $400 60W chip just ridicules Intel
yes and no. too expensive, too hot, and not enough cores. but 3d cache, and low power consumption
@@jean-claudejosselin187what are you on about? 7800x3d doesnt get hot at all compared to the 13900k. E cores are basically cinebench boosters. Who in their right mind would pay 500 for a i9 when you can get that level of performance for 399? I dont see how its "too expensive"
@@TheUltraMinebox everything is too expensive those days. not to argue, but i've would have likely payed 330-ish, not 430. and future games may need more cores.......we'll see.
Still, too hot. That won't get me to buy Intel, because i would have like 8 performance cores and 4 or 6 lower cores, + IA shabang.......for a good price. truly, there is no gaming cpu @ a fair price and conbining the right tech.
money, money, money.........
sad time.
@@jean-claudejosselin187 You're not making any sense. Zen4 can withstand much higher temperatures, so it runs hotter by design, it's not a defect. Once it reaches 80-ish it controls its own temperatures automatically, not even 'throttling' it just stops boosting so hard. 8 cores 16 threads is easily enough for anything but high-end sims that can use more cores, but actual gaming performance on the X3D chips is fantastic and the most efficient per watt of power (and heat) by far.
If you didn't want an AM5 chip to run as hot, just engage ECO mode in the BIOS. To get the same performance on any Intel chip you're using 2-3x the power and heat.
By the way if you want a decent gaming CPU for cheap, go AM4 socket. Nothing wrong with 5700X3D or 5800X3D and there are loads of them on the second hand market right now.
@@SquillagusNiggle hell yeah! 5700X3D is the best am4 cpu in perf/dollar. Decent b550 at 120 and 250 w/ 5700x3d and 16 Gigs is around 410.
how good must that feel! the cat is loving that neck scratches without the cone! best shot all vid,
6:25 Juffes doing some bechmarks but Master arrives to give you some tips, glad to see the Little One looking better! 😼
Love how you do your fittings dude ... old school!!!! :) thumbs up to that! :)
"And we're Gucci" 🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀
THE CONE OF SHAME KITTY....
Naw poor thing was sick and had surgery
🤔looks like every PC Tech You Tuber have CATS as official pets in the channel
Can u install the m.2 expansion card while using the ram watercoling kit???
So main takeaway is that you can get pretty much all of the performance out of 7800X3D by just using cheap standard cooling and curve optimiser undervolt, no need for silicon lotery like on intel and some magical memory controller which could do 8000 or fancy motherboards and expensive cooling solutions.
Seems like a no brainer
To max out given cpu yes but there is huge silicion variation on 7800x3d. When you compare best vs worst silicon there can be 10% diffrence in perfromance on stock/oc.
@@HeartOfAdel Yeah I definitely agree regarding the memory OC. Wish I got all the hours back that I have spent doing it. Looks like the motherboard situation is also getting better and cheaper on intel for extreme frequency support, hope this channel continues covering that. Though even with that in mind intel just looks like a lot more hassle these days and more expensive for me.
@@ezioauditore1588 LTTs recent video saw a few % points and derbaur was also similar. 10% would warrant RMA/return. Sounds to me like a defective chip
you still have the issue of the gimped ram imc and really bad bandwidth on amd vs intel even at lower ram speeds like 6000MT/s so any games doing lots of asset streaming will suffer on amd
Early DDR5 experience is fuckery akin to hardware in it's infancy, we're going to have a much nicer time within the next 1-3 gens on DDR5
First video I have watched on my 360HZ Oled that made it feel worth the oled part of the purchase. Your video quality is so good now man. You have come so far it's actually insane to watch. Video quality now matches the review quality.
I am running a cryo pad on my 13900KS decided. Works great and fixed the EK issue.
That cat rules!
Love you Lyla, glad she's ok
That was impressive Legend.
This is actually really interesting, it just goes to show you how held back Zen 4 is purely from the IHS.
It's good to note as well that you wont see the CPU scale as well from clock speeds in games that like the cache more. Its good to see you can squeeze more out of the platform, I just wish it was from the FCLK no minimize that latency.
I'd love to see an 8700g max RAM OC as that thing is monolithic which means higher FCLK and WAY higher MCLKs.
I know that with the 5700g you can make up a lot of what is lost from the lack of Cache by pushing RAM to the extreme.
Thanks again for another interesting video
you got an affiliate link for the byski ram block?
What bykski block on the memory ?
Perfect for ITX watercooling ✅
Pretty shocked it worked, I would want to to see a comparison vid or at least screenshots of the scores for Stock, Delid, Direct Die, and a 14900k in multiple games.
Thanks for the video 👍
It’s work with air cooler?
Kitty ending = best ending
Will that work on non3d chip?
Placing that CPU on that deskmat (which looks extra susceptible to ESD) is just scaring me
How the fuq you get that waterblock I haven't seen it anywhere
where i can buy this?
Good job brother.
The reason they suggested the graphine pad is because it works as well as thermal past and is non conductive and won't squish out when mounting pressure is applied. But yes if you are going to this extreme you should use liquid metal to get the best results.
Graphene is conductive
One of my 8 year olds got in the road early wed. morning. Wasn't a pretty sight... Kickin myself every way but guilty......
Cats are just a pet and nothing short of amazing for the inner spirit. But that shit was gruesome to the soul....
I've still got the other 7 giants, so we're all good....
I dont know why, but my CPU make 5250mhz stock with Under Volting and with BCLK OC 5350mhz. Maybe you have a really bad one or i have a good one.
Graphene is a super conductor. Graphene is a highly thermally conductive material and can transfer heat better than most materials.
Is the hotspot temp on a gpu critical?
Where is the hotspot temp sensor located on the rx7900 xtx gpu ?
Hotspot is the hottest spot of the chip. It's what you should look at.
Positive CO on bclk?
2%. That's it. Save your money for Zen5
conversion of AMDip into AMDDDip ? :o
how in the hell did you even get that? I can never find one.
Gonna delid my 7800X3D after noctua comes out with the NHD15 v2. Itll be cool af in my Fractal Torrent case.
I know you don’t like EK but that direct die AIO for intel looking real good after watching Der8auer test it. Hopefully the sponsors send u one for testing :)
Thermal grizzly will soon bring a Lga 1700 Mycro Direct die
🐐
U definitely should give it a try to the kryosheet, is way better than carbounaut and performs the same or even better to a regular thermal paste
How strange is this result when you have 81ºC on the Diode and 70ºC cpu.... My 7800x3d in the same scenario with 5.05Ghz without fluctuations and without using liquid metal, normal thermal paste and I have 51ºC on the CPU and 66ºC peak on the Diode. The cooler is an arctic liquid freezer 2 360 and the thermal paste is one from Corsair.
Damn, I would love to be able to buy them already delidded. Better packaging and less money for not be forced to pay that IHS.
Hey, would it be possible for you to test ram speed differences on 78x3D with new bios/agesa versions in 2024? If i'm not mistaken, in the meantime AM5 can handle higher ram speeds, right? e.g. 6000mhz cl30 vs 6400 cl32. Thank you!
7800X3D is a joke if you are not using games that really supports the X3D cache.
I have pretty much the same FPS with my "old" 12600KF vs. this hyped "trash" CPU.
5600Mhz CL36-36-36-68 vs 6000Mhz CL32-36-36-68 = Clown show.
Don't step up on the hype train and save your money.
Patriot Viper VENOM DIMM Kit 32GB, DDR5-5600, CL36-36-36-68, on-die ECC
is a pretty GOOD kit. 70€ used on ebay.
Yo you should do a skit where someone going to do something to you're computer, and your being held back and you go into the "wait wait wait wait wait wait!!" meme
that's all I can think about when I see your thumbnails
No one ever mentions the onboard gpu... Im looking in task manager at this mysterious radeon GPU... Im thinking, is it on the board or the cpu... The cpu... wtf... ?? Never knew... Now I DO!!!!!
Bruh, imma let you know the ultimate oc ai cheat.... Set abt enable, specific core ratio to all core desire -subrtacted from bclk oc. Core ratio auto
One of the biggest CS2 tournaments in the world has completely switched over to AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D chips 'to ensure a smooth esports experience'
They cant spend time to ram oc individually lol
@@user-dw9zc8pq6c thanks for the input
Why does the L2 says 1mb ?
Probably not worth it for just 2% perf. Save the money and put it on 9800X3D or something lol.
Will there be a video about OC AI on Asus boards?
Not for a looooong time, I’m too backlogged
Not a big deal, you get most of your performance tuning the ram not cpu. Turning it on will limit ram tuning potential due to aggressive single core oc.
AMD the algorithm 🎉
Bro when r u gonna start using quick disconnects these test system swaps taking alot of time for you
Like - for the cat
Now compare with direct die 14900k
Because we already know the answer. Margin of error to a 13900k.
Would you be able to test the 7800x3d dip with the new 6.01 chipset drivers. I personally noticed a massive improvement and way less stuttering with this new driver. Cheers (on win11)
Me too I was having problems with average CPU die temps reaching 130 degree I believe false readings but was really annoying seem to have gone with the latest bios and chipset drivers also mem context restore doesn't crash windows anymore
Kryosheet as a tim is better than everything else but liquid metal.
Now let's see some chilled water FAFO
Em. You do no the licuid metal can harm the cpu no?
no way actually working product
I always stay for the kitty video at the end! 🐱
cpu looked like it still has it's lid
I was just about to ask that exact question in the Patreon/Discord. I figured I was missing something. It's definitely been lapped before, but I am not sure if the IHS was removed before installing the AM5 Mycro Die CPU block(and that part was just cut or not filmed). I just purchased one of these CPU blocks a few weeks back with the impression that the block was to be fitted to a completely delidded("direct die") CPU. Always with "the secrets."
you may be able to get bigger gains on a 7900xtx because SAM would work much better at 1080p with an AMD 7000 series :O (not challenging the 4090, this is just for CPU)
How the fuck this cpu works at 80 celcius while drawing 67 watt power?
AMD moment
3D cache causes increased temperatures due to the vertical stacking. This is why X3D are "locked" for normal overclocking. This is how that technology works...
@@RyanFennec D E V I L said AMD magic
But why 1080p testing tho ?😅@@thecatdaddy1981
this would be a lot more useful if it was also compared to stock alongside the other results
2:08 The reason that graphene can be a viable option to liquid metal is that it isn't messy, has excellent conductivity in the planar directions, and is so thin that the temperature drop across the thickness is very low.
Ok, stupid question, does the 7800X3D still suffer AMDip, had to ask as I thought they fixed the issue with this particular chip ?
You only get 'AMDip' if you don't know what you are doing in the bios. Basically, leave FCLK alone
@@2maac550but MAX OVERCLOCK !!!!!
guys, i saw video where in warzone where he got dip on amd another guy tested it and he doesn't have dip at same palce , this guy is misleading his audience always telling about dip on amd
Here is video for proof

Yes, because he doesn't know how to make Zen 4 stable ahaha@@vibhavcar
@@mitsuhhhe is deleting my comment because the truth came out from video
I had a 13900K, one of the cores became unstable. So I built a 7800X3D system over the weekend and it works better in every way than my 13900K build.
Primarily play esports titles, CS2, OW2 with uncapped frame rates and both titles run better and stutter less.
Both of them are great however and each have their strengths
@@nivea878 zero AMDip experienced, smoother overall experience with less stutter on the 7800X3D. AMDip is likely caused by pushing the fabric speed to hard and causing instability
Sold my 13900ks system for a 7800x3d system due to instability couldn’t be happier.
@@user-qu6be7yf1g it’s a great no fuss chip, buy inexpensive 6000 CL30 Ram, enable expo and have fun gaming. Really no necessity to push beyond and tweak any further.
@@thefreemarketeer765you keep telling yourself that when you play games lol might as well make a channel then to point it out instead of commenting
@@redclaw72666 Have you had both ? Because I do and the AMDip is not occurring and it affords me a better experience in the titles I play than my 13900K. Seems like you have a bad case of confirmation bias.

Bykski rulez :) ❤ Lyla :)
but hey 1080p you should have test on 1440p thats the sweet spot of most gamers and 7800X3D ?
Ofcourse you gonna get 400fps on 1080p, my 7950X3D reach 600fps on 1080p
Thumbs up, but only for the Kitty!

Hmm... My new PC setup is right next to me on the desk - 10900k 5.2 4090FE - faster and quiet sounds quite good
Not really worth the effort for a 1.5% performance increase. If your already running a half decent AIO it should be virtually silent stock already under normal use.
You just reminded me why Im so glad I found your channel and didn't go with AM5
i clicked this video to help your channel, nobody cares about amd man... mouse backed immediately...
Still have my 5800X3D, mostly just playing escape from Tarkov now.
Very nice CPU
Undervolted mine to 0.975v and went from 86c all the way down to 52c when I game❤ soo good for 1440p
Very similar experience. Uses 88w now for 4.45GHz all core with all cores unparked and idle off. Zero issues at -30 CO.
@@atiagooqkinguliaalu4027 Does the 5800x3d get this much hotter than the 7800x3d? I'm using a custom fan curve with a cheap thermalright peerless assassin and I get temps between 52 to high 60s depending on the game. It's paired with a 7900xtx, so if you are running a 4090 that might push your cpu a bit more than mine is being pushed
They must change the ihs for zen5. It's ridiculous
Amd platform keeps looking better and better almost wanna bite the big one
Didnt' you say your done with this cpu, that it sucks ? 🤣🤣 Jufes finally converted to A-massive-dip
