@@jean-claudejosselin187 You're not making any sense. Zen4 can withstand much higher temperatures, so it runs hotter by design, it's not a defect. Once it reaches 80-ish it controls its own temperatures automatically, not even 'throttling' it just stops boosting so hard. 8 cores 16 threads is easily enough for anything but high-end sims that can use more cores, but actual gaming performance on the X3D chips is fantastic and the most efficient per watt of power (and heat) by far. If you didn't want an AM5 chip to run as hot, just engage ECO mode in the BIOS. To get the same performance on any Intel chip you're using 2-3x the power and heat. By the way if you want a decent gaming CPU for cheap, go AM4 socket. Nothing wrong with 5700X3D or 5800X3D and there are loads of them on the second hand market right now.

The reason they suggested the graphine pad is because it works as well as thermal past and is non conductive and won't squish out when mounting pressure is applied. But yes if you are going to this extreme you should use liquid metal to get the best results.
I had a 13900K, one of the cores became unstable. So I built a 7800X3D system over the weekend and it works better in every way than my 13900K build. Primarily play esports titles, CS2, OW2 with uncapped frame rates and both titles run better and stutter less. Both of them are great however and each have their strengths

Me too I was having problems with average CPU die temps reaching 130 degree I believe false readings but was really annoying seem to have gone with the latest bios and chipset drivers also mem context restore doesn't crash windows anymore
How strange is this result when you have 81ºC on the Diode and 70ºC cpu.... My 7800x3d in the same scenario with 5.05Ghz without fluctuations and without using liquid metal, normal thermal paste and I have 51ºC on the CPU and 66ºC peak on the Diode. The cooler is an arctic liquid freezer 2 360 and the thermal paste is one from Corsair.
Pretty shocked it worked, I would want to to see a comparison vid or at least screenshots of the scores for Stock, Delid, Direct Die, and a 14900k in multiple games.

It's definitely been lapped before, but I am not sure if the IHS was removed before installing the AM5 Mycro Die CPU block(and that part was just cut or not filmed). I just purchased one of these CPU blocks a few weeks back with the impression that the block was to be fitted to a completely delidded("direct die") CPU. Always with "the secrets."

7800X3D is a joke if you are not using games that really supports the X3D cache. I have pretty much the same FPS with my "old" 12600KF vs. this hyped "trash" CPU. 5600Mhz CL36-36-36-68 vs 6000Mhz CL32-36-36-68 = Clown show. Don't step up on the hype train and save your money. Patriot Viper VENOM DIMM Kit 32GB, DDR5-5600, CL36-36-36-68, on-die ECC is a pretty GOOD kit. 70€ used on ebay.
Not a big deal, you get most of your performance tuning the ram not cpu. Turning it on will limit ram tuning potential due to aggressive single core oc.

you may be able to get bigger gains on a 7900xtx because SAM would work much better at 1080p with an AMD 7000 series :O (not challenging the 4090, this is just for CPU)

Not really worth the effort for a 1.5% performance increase. If your already running a half decent AIO it should be virtually silent stock already under normal use.
I just delidded 7900xt and used the RGB direct die version with PBO2 tune using Hydra. I got about 8.5% all core boost over stock and more importantly I'm not stuck a 90 degrees under load like on stock. Now I'm around 79-80 on full load. For me it was totally worth it already and I still have more tinkering to go. Although I will say this. It is expensive. I could have bought another R9 for the cost of my custom loop... but I can continue to use most of it on future builds as well.

Very similar experience. Uses 88w now for 4.45GHz all core with all cores unparked and idle off. Zero issues at -30 CO.
