I think your cyberpunk thing may be screwy, could just be the area you are testing it or the in game benchmark, but out of all the reviews today and yours is the only one that even kept it close ;o
Maybe undervolting/underclocking the entire 9000 series platform on an A620 board from ASrock and fine tuning. Another benchmark could be the snappiness of the system using Inkscape (Open source Vector Program) with an SVG with a lot of nodes. And the same test with Adobe Illustrator, if you can, please. Please use a fresh Windows install. Greetings from Chiapas, México (Edit was: the word notes for the proper one which is nodes)
You need to check you CP2077 test.. all the other reviews show almost/around 10% increase in performance from 7800 to 9800. Maybe your test scenario wasn't cpu intensive?
Thanks for yhe video+1 from me. One suggestion: if you don't want to do extrnsive game testing in cpu bound areas, then just focus on other stuff that is not covered by others. Like you said input latency, snappiness and also resizable bar and overclocking settings. Gamers nexus and hw umboxed already tortured sooo many games. We know the info ;) Or if you really want to give buyers advice, pair it with a regular 4070 super or 7800xt normal mobo and ram that most of the people buy and show them what they can expect. Very little people do this...
I would love to see CPU reviews with GPUs that normal human beings have, such as the ones you mention. I have a 7900x with a 7800XT and I'm curious to see whether I would gain anything by getting the 9800X3D, as I don't need 12 cores anymore, but no one is doing that...
As someone that sells PCs myself, it feels like everyone wants a PC with Windows 11 right now, and using windows 10 actually turns ppl away mainly because they just think newer=better which isn't crazy to think to be fair, esp when you think about newer hardware being better than older hardware. With some of these games though, you can actually gain performance with Windows 11 as others have said, especially 24h2, but also having the most recent bios can help
I saw the GN review where they still had the 2700 from which I upgraded to the 5800X3D. Seeing the performance boost of 100-150% was soooo hart warming :)))
Guess this will be a new undervolt king. still, as i play capped @ 90 fps, i guess tje extra frames won't apeal to me until next 3d chip. The cooling improvement is useful though😊
If your pc is good enough to display and has no problem to do some task I dont think you need to upgrade PC, better invest money into something promising (unless youre competitive gamer who really relies on high FPS and smoothness)
So Windows 10 and Windows 11 24h2 (or what eva required one), results in the same? So Windows 10 is not affected by the performance issue :O? Only asking as i dont want to use w11.
Bryan in regards to your previous video where you changed from Intel to AMD. Did you do a fresh install of Windows on your SSD? Even AMD said it on their recommendations that you need to do a fresh install or you will suffer stability, stutter, micro glitches, sudden blue screens and even lower performance on AMD overall have not used a fresh Windows install. Please try a fresh install and let us know. Many IT people have tried and experienced those kinds of problems just by keeping the same SSD that was used with Intel. And there is even a problem from AMD to AMD when you change from a normal AMD CPU to a 3D where AMD specifically said that you need to format your SSD and do a fresh install. Please do an in depth slow tutorial on undervolting or tuning the new generation of AMD, 7000 and 9000 series cause it is not the same as 5000 series or below as your previous tutorials. Say hello to the Dadman from Chiapas, Mexico. 🎉
Prices of newer version of a product will almost never ever be cheaper or the same. Number 1 - Inflation. Number 2 - Whenever you create product, it's about value. If a new product inherently has more value, then the price hike is justified. It's not my rules. It's just how the business world works. Capitalism
shouldnt be that far, but far, im very impressed with 7700x oc and 7800x3d, 9000 series should be even more repost from below, 55w 9800x3d is abt same as 5800x3d
Your better off going the 9950x, 9950x3D (when it comes) or Threadripper 7960x. That sort of workload definitely needs threads and cores (more the better, to a degree). Threadripper 9960x should becoming next year too.
They are following the pricing strategy of NVIDIA, keep raising the prices with each generation release because people will still buy it anyway, even to the point of selling out 😂
Bryan on the side note about you using this CPU as your main CPU. I would love for you to see the benchmarks from Phoronix and Gamers Nexus where they both have Adobe Premiere with better performance on an Intel platform instead of AMD. (Hence the perceived snappiness on your 10th gen Intel) Adobe suite is a bad optimized piece of software that runs better with Intel, not on all the suite but with some programs it does. I know that is the way you work but I also know that you LOVE SNAPPINESS so it would be a good investment of your time to change to Da Vinci Resolve as your editing program. It is vastly superior and more stable than Premiere, 'cause it utilizes properly multi core and single core, and that will make you spend less time editing on the long run and having more time to spend with your son. Many people have made the change in just hours and get used to in just a few days if you don't have your macros separated with some sort of deck. Many people just keep using their macros system and the change is faster and with an almost non existing learning curve and a few hours of adjustment. Greetings from Chiapas, México. Will be waiting for the tuning video of these new CPU.
kick on dlss quality or move to 4k and get a 4090 and using heavy dlss will still look better than 1440p by a mile and run just as good of course depends on the game unless your looking at 1440p 480hz woled, that would be my next move
1080 above are mostly GPU bound/intensive one, upgrading CPU will be a waste or maybe no if the cpu is more efficient than your cpu predecessor or maybe needed for super quick/time is money mindset
FPS and temperature is better for 9800X3D but power efficiency is poor after 4.8Ghz. Is there a way to limit the clockspeed at 4.8 so that 9800X3D can also have a good power efficiency? Can we enter the bios and set the power wattage limit to maybe 55W?
i cant remember which one, but i think bitwit did a pbo -30, and he got some crazy good results, lower temps about 15C drop and about 40-50W power decrees.
Let's be honest who buys this cpu to play at 1080p? I know the tests are done at 1080p to remove GPU bottleneck but since this is a gaming CPU, it should be tested at "pc gamers" resolutions, meaning 1440p or 4K. At those resolutions the gains vs a 7800x3d and even a 5800x3d are basically close to 0, making it an absolutely useless upgrade for those who owns the previous gens x3d chips.
the price of the game dont matter if you like the game thats all that matters valorant/cs2/lost ark are all free games but you can also play more demanding or AAA titles your not stuck to one game
"9800x3d will be 3-5% faster than zen4 like the 9700x" oh really? Apparently I am a blind fanboy because I have been saying over 10% for months now. 😂 People thought architecture built for vcache, better vcache implementation and higher clocks would means nothing for gaming performance 😂. The 8% claim by AMD was a sangbag to eliminate fomo and sell more 7800x3d before the new CPU release.
Hello @techyescity, is the 9800x3d snappy in windows? While browsing, scrolling and just general usage in windows. Is there a test for windows fluidity.
i can tell you that moving to gen 5 nvme will make windows feel snappier then gen 4...thats how it feels for me...they do get hot but mine is cool as my other drives because i have a heatsink block on it.
Hope y'all enjoyed this one, if there are any tests you want me to do in the overclocking video then just drop them down below.
I think your cyberpunk thing may be screwy, could just be the area you are testing it or the in game benchmark, but out of all the reviews today and yours is the only one that even kept it close ;o
do a LatencyMon test, also Throne and Liberty benchmark ,compare vs 7700x or 5800x

The cyberpunk anomaly is because of W10. Windows 24h2 is needed for the full performance for this scenario
Tech yes loving!
You need to check you CP2077 test.. all the other reviews show almost/around 10% increase in performance from 7800 to 9800. Maybe your test scenario wasn't cpu intensive?
It's because of the windows version.
Thanks for yhe video+1 from me. One suggestion: if you don't want to do extrnsive game testing in cpu bound areas, then just focus on other stuff that is not covered by others. Agree, those channels mentioned have dat market cornered
I would love to see CPU reviews with GPUs that normal human beings have, such as the ones you mention. I have a 7900x with a 7800XT and I'm curious to see whether I would gain anything by getting the 9800X3D, as I don't need 12 cores anymore, but no one is doing that...
Doing my video editing on my 220GE and a320 mobo. May finally be time to upgrade.

Is the BG3 Slide at 5:22 wronmg? Cause it has the 9800x3d at the bottom with 46fps on 1% but the 9950x as the king?
Stuff up. He had 7700x in the msi overlay in one of the games too. Cyberpunk isnt right also
might be my new CPU
What are you willing to pay like ($500 and maybe over) and do you already have a am5 board?
@@AwesomeBlackDude i have Intel
I'm still rocking the 5800X3D :) great CPU no need for an upgrade. my next stystem will be a high performance mini pc
when I built my 5800x3d, I tap it and said "This baby will last for years"
I saw the GN review where they still had the 2700 from which I upgraded to the 5800X3D. Seeing the performance boost of 100-150% was soooo hart warming :)))
Perfect!
I'll be scouring for this once it hits under 450 range. I'll stick with past gen since those 8,000mt ddr5 ain't cheap enough to justify yet.
The sponsor spot audio is a tad bit low, Bryan
Can you test the cyberpunk results outside the canned benchmark, in god town near the circle ?
There is something with 6200mhz ram. Run it at 6000mhz instead, as its still the same IO die as previous chips.
Guess this will be a new undervolt king. still, as i play capped @ 90 fps, i guess tje extra frames won't apeal to me until next 3d chip. The cooling improvement is useful though😊
I'ma wait to see what the 9950x3d compares to it.
Pentium 4 EE
Athlon 64 fx
Would be good if you could include am4 chips. Particularly 5800x3d.
I think I need a new rig soon. Tech advances so fast, while dinosaur me still wallows in the past. :D
If your pc is good enough to display and has no problem to do some task

Instant upgrade for me coming from 7800x3d
very realistic review : buy a 500 cpu to get a boost of 10 fps with a 2000 gpu in 1080P :D
Are the baldur’s gate 3 results mixed up where 9950x result shown should be the 9800x3d and vis versa?
Commentary also doesn’t match whats on screen.
How does the new CPU go on the cheap itx mb off Ali Express?

Nope. Only CPUs picked up for $5 and drowning in multipurpose spray are the best gaming CPUs
Wild 😂😂😂
The xeon x5650 is king then!
(As long as you have the multipurpose spray)

7700x oc did abt slight lower than 144hz max smoothness, on my crysis bench, 7800x3d abit more lower, this newer gen should 144 easily
How do you think the CPU would do for scientists doing data analysis and complex modeling?
idk the exact perf on various usages, those are just gaming estimations based on cpus ive tried

Playing at 1440p I am sticking with my 7800x3d. The gains at 1440p just are not enough.
kick on dlss quality or move to 4k and get a 4090 and using heavy dlss will still look better than 1440p by a mile and run just as good of course depends on the game unless your looking at 1440p 480hz woled, that would be my next move

wait until 3 generation at least to upgrade cpu, especially when you are already on 7800x3D.
what a vrr flicker saver on oleds monitors it is

should can but maybe theres no exact power limit, youll have to manually adjust pbo, ali does that check his channel
think its par with 5800x3d at 55w, quite appealing lol
i cant remember which one, but i think bitwit did a pbo -30, and he got some crazy good results, lower temps about 15C drop and about 40-50W power decrees.
You can set the TDP to 65W or 105W in the BIOS (ECO mode). I think 65W and -30 CO would be crazy efficient.
I seem to be gaming just fine on my 13700k, and I got it for $230.
🤷
I just built a 7800X3D pc spent $450 on the cpu wont upgrade to 9800X3D for 1-2 FPS at 1440P
So do you not like Windows 11?, just wondering. I am thinking of upgrading.. don't want to pay $30 for an extra year of Windows 10.
Stick to Win10, Win11 is telemetry galore.
gaming at 4k are the 3d chips even worth it
HOLY 1% DIPS BATMAN!! ✌️
wow.... that's a lot of extra FPS
i wonder is there going to be Ryzen 9 9***-X3D....
** imagine Ryzen 9 9900X3D or 9950X3D.....
This is the sole method they can market the 9800X3D by displaying higher Fps in 1080p. 😂
Because you are testing the cpu, not gpu.
Dude, get some good morning/evening sun and vitamin D3!
Yes
BG3 FPS labels mixed? 9950x9800x3d

Counter strike players use 1280x960 stretched. 9800x3D is made for esport titles
@Hardsky5123 exactly. For esport pros not for regular gamers
HI 👋
Zen 5 is failure. Hopefully Zen 6 will have an acceptable performance increase.
Nah 1080p that's not real world use for that cpu
That's how you test CPUs. Else you'll be GPU bottlenecked.
@rdmz135 why would anyone test 1080p no one use that at all for that cpu ...cool
third
Sticking with 7600. At 2k res its the same.
Imagine paying 500 dollars for a cpu to play a 10 dollar steam game.....
the price of the game dont matter if you like the game thats all that matters valorant/cs2/lost ark are all free games but you can also play more demanding or AAA titles your not stuck to one game
So you want 500$ to play 100$ game? 1000$ game or even higher cost than whole gamer PC huh?

Those 1% dips are awful! Lmao! ✌️🇺🇲
9700x is fast i dont think its that high
