this is one of the better made whirlpools from about 93. The only thing that it doesn't have that the Kenmore does is the lint filter inside the front of the drum and the cabinet is more tinny (no quiet pac)this even had a drum light

These partnerships allow Sears to specify certain features or design elements, like the lint filter's placement inside the front of the drum or additional sound insulation (Quiet Pack), which might not be present in the original manufacturer's version.
In addition to Whirlpool, Kenmore appliances are manufactured by other leading companies, each with unique model number prefixes that help identify the original manufacturer. Besides Whirlpool (with model numbers starting with 110, 106, 562, 665, or 198), here are the other key manufacturers:
Roper appliances are indicated by model numbers starting with 103.

Greetings from S. CA Years ago I took the back off of my kitchenaid gas dryer. I cleaned the back of it. When I ran it , it sounded like a Jet engine. When I put my hand on the back panel the sound diminished. I remember when I had cleaned it I had removed some kind of deteriorating foam. I feel like the weather stripping was used as a buffering against the metal shroud. I have yet to use the dryer as it has been put outside with my leaking top load washer. I did buy the weather' stripping from HD. I line dry for now but miss the dryer to remove lint. When I get around to it I'll place the weather stripping on. I'm sure there's alot of debris and spiders living in it for now.
Chip, I now use an outdoor extension cord to plug my Kitchenaid washer. I noticed when I disconnected them from each other after use, the plug from washer was hot. Any idea's on why?
Poor contact with the prongs on the cord and using an extension cord increases the resistance of the current causing it to heat up. A very heavy duty cord would lessen this problem but I don’t recommend using one at all. I do in the shop but I will remedy this in the near future. Also I wouldn’t recommend using weather stripping on the heater side of your gas dryer. It’s okay on the blower side though. That stuff isn’t fireproof.

They can certainly be challenging to remove. I got lucky with this one.
Rustoleum professional (high gloss) is 10 times better and dries in 30min. You can paint a machine and sell it an hour later
