What would be the usefulness of using sodium over water for the reactor? Is it more efficient. For an example, my max burn rate is 36mb/t If I switched water out for Sodium would it be more efficient at producing energy? Or is it a thing mostly for bigger reactors with bigger burn rates.
So im confused, using Sodium to cool the fission reactor...then using the boiler to cool down the superheater sodium and the outputting the cooled down sodium BACK into the fission reactor? am i understanding that correctly?
fission heats sodium, sodium used to heat boiler and turn water to steam. steam sent to turbine which cools back to water. sodium once cooled goes back to fission reactor to cool again. like a double loop.
So i noticed in the infuser that you can have diamond in chemical tank to use to infuse with... my question is how do i get the diamond into that state?
Hi Soul. You need to either run it through a crusher first to make diamond dust which will give you one item in the metallurgic infuser, or you can run it through the enrichment chamber which will get you enriched diamond which does 8 items in the metallurgic infuser.
@@oblyx well i meant the chemical tank of diamond. If you watch the input options cycle there a liquid/gas tabk that says can be used and can hold diamond it it

So I just had to pause at 6 minutes to comment. My mind was just blown with excitement. This is with the newest Forge and Mekanism, both for 1.16.1, no game modifications other than allocating 4g RAM to it, and with nothing but Mekanism in the mod folder. With Optifine, however, it hangs on the 100% loading screen. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Not really. I've loaded it twice and both without issue. I didn't use optifine so maybe there is a start.
@@oblyx Thanks for the reply. I've looked it up and no-one else seems to have the same problem, so I'll have to just try things out and see if they work.
After looking into the crash log, I updated both Forge and Mekanism and it's going fine so far. I should've checked that first in hindsight
Awesome. Glad you got it working.
here's a question from an outsider if one of the nuclear reactors (in the mod) go bang what happens?
Big hole in ground. If you go into the area unprotected you die.
imagine if they add compat for Create, like a set of motors powered by different things. like one powered with RF/FE, one powered by heat, etc
That could be fun.
Oblyx - Getting into Mek 10 - I have a 1-3 ore smelter but im running out of power. I have 2-bio generators. What would be the next step up - turbine or keep mining for the reactors? Also for the evaporation plant, I'm not in a desert so can i use other alternatives to heat the brine up? Thanks in advance..
Gas burning generators burning ethylene would be next up the list, followed by a fission reactor with a turbine.
@@oblyx TYVM for the quick reply
Can you make nutrient paste from Pam's / Cooking for Blockheads items
Haven't tried. Not even sure if Pam's has been updated to 1.16.1 yet.
My go to tech mod just got a hella lot better. Is the armor as busted as draconic evolution armor?
I'm digging the armor. Seems to be all good.
Did the gas burner generator get nerfed? or did the electrolythic seperator get nerfed? cause my usual power setup is wayyy less effecient and works not as well as first
Use ethylene for power for the generator hydrogen isnt worth it any more as it costs the same to produce as it makes, but ethylene is awesome :).
But did they balance electrolytic separators such that the fully upgraded version does not meet 40kRF/t to avoid an exploit?
Looking for a decent modpack and server files download for Mekanism and other mods. Any suggestions?
superb
Mekanism becoming the new thermal suite?

Does a single fusion reactor handle the antimatter thingy?
Yup, can.
@@oblyx thank you so much
No problemo.
this guy can teach me anything with his voice and it would still be interesting.
Hahaha thank you, a fine compliment.
22:15 Mr. Brady just made up for AlgorithmX's lack of development on AE2. Now, we either need build-in support for auto-crafting, or get RFTools
why would you need more than ae2 already provides?
@@sossololpipi9633 1.13 +. Refined storage is getting good though, I've found.
These QIO drives are massive storage capacity, if they Could be hooked up to AE2 via storage bus it Could save You alot of storage Cells, the whole QIO addition is great but honestly, unless You're playing with only Mek and not any modpack I dont see anyone using it since 99% tech packs have Refined storage or AE2 which are aviable munch earlier and most imporatntly, offer autocrfting. Love the MekSuit, munch better looking and more functional then Modular Powersuits
Oh nice they basically added modular powersuits.
Has the anti-radiation stuff from NuclearCraft been made compatible with the new nuclear additions?
If the NC devs are working together with Meks devs I think so, but they aren't. Maybe ask for it on GitHub
Nuclearcraft isn’t even on 1.15 yet 😬
I'm just guessing here but I doubt so early on. No others are on 1.16 at the moment that I'm aware of. Probably down there road.
@@oblyx Ok, we'll just have to wait and see for later then. Still, can't wait to try out the new additions!
Hopefully it comes out for 1.12.2 too!
It will not, at least from the Mekanism team directly. They've started emphatically that they will not back port. But left it open that somebody else could.
Is there a reason to craft the higher tier paxels instead of just making an atomic disassembler? Are they faster? Do more damage to mobs?
They can be enchanted.
So uh what book do you use to build a nuclear reactor
Their isn't a mekanism book. I've got a tutorial on how to build one.
This video needs more views
i don't disagree. :-)
What would be the usefulness of using sodium over water for the reactor? Is it more efficient. For an example, my max burn rate is 36mb/t
If I switched water out for Sodium would it be more efficient at producing energy? Or is it a thing mostly for bigger reactors with bigger burn rates.
You use it with a boiler/turbine setup to potentially produce more power depending on your setup.
mekanism is becoming a one-stop modpack all by itself..
it's getting there.
Every body needs to play this mod
It is good.
So im confused, using Sodium to cool the fission reactor...then using the boiler to cool down the superheater sodium and the outputting the cooled down sodium BACK into the fission reactor? am i understanding that correctly?
fission heats sodium, sodium used to heat boiler and turn water to steam. steam sent to turbine which cools back to water. sodium once cooled goes back to fission reactor to cool again. like a double loop.
simple heat pump mechanccs
can't believe mekanism making these things
It's very cool
anyone know how to store the waste from the fission ractor
I show it in the video several times. The yellow nuclear water drum.

If you watch the input options cycle there a liquid/gas tabk that says can be used and can hold diamond it it
@@oblyx i alrdy have the compressed diamond and it works but look at the infuser next time you play. You know how it cycles through the various inputs? One of them is a tank with diamond in it. It says chemical tank however it cycles to fast for me to fully read it. Im wondering of the update added the ability to liquefy diamond and use it in mass quanties over just 1 compressed per 8
So I just had to pause at 6 minutes to comment. My mind was just blown with excitement. So we can do 5x ore duplication to get our uranium bars and then reverse process like a third of the machines back into yellow cake uranium and fluid and for an obscene amount of this material if I'm understanding it right.
I have the latest version of mekanism and the casing doesn’t show up in my jei
Can anybody help me out with this
Works for me when using the 1.16 pre release version of jei.
The flourite and the osmium are very very similar, but the flourite is just slightly rainbowy
Rainbowy. Is that a word? Careful, you're starting to make up words like me. 😁
this mans voice is absolutely amazing, you could write/read books to kids to put them to bed. its very soothing
Thanks...I think. 😜
about the radiation, will it produce the same radiation as NC?
Since nuclear craft isn't updated to 1.16.1 I couldn't say. You might ask the devs on the Mekanism discord.
@@oblyx it isnt updated yet, they will update it, gonna ask the NC devs
this has wiped the need for AE2 now
Once they get the integrated crafting done which they are working on.
