Very helpful…thank you for posting. I dropped my ‘20 off at the dealer’s yesterday. He told me it will take 5 days (due to work load backup) so I ended up with an F-Pace loaner. In spite of the recall, I miss my I-Pace…love that car!

Had it done on my ‘20. Took the dealer a full week to do a 1.5hr software upload. So far everything is fine.

I have a 23MY HSE I-PACE, which received the update online, early model years don’t have the Infotainment version to allow remote updates. Finally, I’ve never had any issues with JLR service from my dealership.

My 2019 SE had H441 software update on 4th July. Three AC charges to 100% then on a trip away on DC charger stopped at 72%. Called out JLR tech through Jaguar Assistance, avoided the AA, but just confirmed due to update, despite not reaching 75%. To go back to dealer on 8th August to resolve maybe!

I received a software update for my 2021 model over the air on July 3rd, before I had any knowledge about the recall. A few days later, I received a letter from the local dealer (I live in Finland) containing information similar to what you shared earlier, with one exception: the letter recommended parking and charging the car outdoors for 30 days following the software update

My 22HSE was done over the air - took less than an hour and was pretty automated and seamless! Added a couple of new features too!

Those are basically every ipace. The only ones not affected are those new cars who have had this done before delivery.

Update on my 2019SE. Now two full days with dealer and found one of 12v batteries needed replacement. Once done will check HV battery again but discovered a minor dent in underside. Allowable indentation is 5mm, this is closer to 6mm. Probably not cause of any HV battery fault but could give JLR a let out. Cost for new HV battery is close to £11,500, half is the 29 hours labour. Interesting. No idea where the ding comes from but BEWARE, it is sold as an SUV.

I had my software update done about 6 months ago and had nothing but problems afterwards where the car would not drive when the turned it on, displaying "Traction Battery fault" - thinking back I do recall a burning smell on occasion and the heating wasn't great.

Apparently, there is a second software update due soon. Any news on that one..?

Hi, I’ve not seen anything about this in the UK and there is no update due on my car. Happy to look in to this if you can let me know where you picked up this info?

I suspect that this kind of fault could happen to almost any make of EV as similar circumstances could theoretically arise, and it wouldn't be discovered for a while.
As a precaution, I now restrict my EVs SOC to 75% overnight on the majority of occasions and never more than 80%.

Hi I just phoned my local Jaguar main dealer , Who said there is no recall on the 2020 car I have just purchased. They couldn't tell me anything about it. On the Gov recall register under my registration there is nothing about any recalls. I know in the USA they are replacing batterys. Confused ?????

If you go on to the Jaguar website and scroll to the bottom to see the site sections then under Ownership you’ll see Vehicle Recall Search. Click on this and you will see a section on the bottom right to enter you VIN which is shown on your In Control app (or on the car). This will tell you if your car needs an update or not.

I've a 70 plate ipace, 25 thousand miles only, it's the facelift version with the one battery in the frunk, it's saying battery traction fault and no eba, now what I want to know, who foots the bill is it JLR? I know the battery is guaranteed for 8 years or 100k miles, any honest answers are appreciated, it's booked in at Hatfields york jaguar 21st August, already been told, sorry no courtesy car available, personally I think that's disgraceful, kind regards simon

Just a thought. It's my experience that electrical devices running on batteries (li-ion and li-po) continue to heat up after being switched off. Does the battery cooling system shut down when the car is switched off? Or does it continue to cool until an appropriate temp has been acheived?

    • @electricfocus1710
      @electricfocus1710  Рік тому

My understanding is that Battery Management Systems continue to work when the car is parked.

Interestingly, as mine is a 2018 model, I checked with the agent if it was included in the recall. They checked the VIN number and confirmed that it was. Car went in the next week and took 30 mins to do. They so did an awesome valet on the car at no charge! I didn’t have any issues before, and have had non since, (fingers crossed). I would recommend you ask your agent to check the VIN to be sure.

They just said they tried several times to upload the update and it failed every time.

Nice customer care advice, just park it outside your neighbour’s property in case it self combusts and incinerates everything within a 10 metre radius. Alternatively drive immediately to a Nissan dealer and trade it for a Prius.

What a shame they never bothered to upgrade the batteries to give faster charging and better range.
