I've driven one of these for the last year and I'd agree that the real world motorway range varies but is normally about 180-200 miles. From a practicality point the car drives better than any other vehicle at it's price point and I think I'd be happy with it as my only vehicle if I had a home charger. Having a full tank every day outweighs the disadvantage on not being able to fuel quickly on longer runs. I would say it's essential to precondition the car if you want the best range - again which is easy with a home charger. You do save an awful lot of money vs a normal 400bhp SUV on fuel and as it drives better then the slightly higher lease cost is easy to justify.

Only downside I read and hear is a lack of charging stations, up to 8hrs charge if this is correct, til more charging stations became available, even at your place of work, to charge whilst working, as person's living in flats, on road parking with no option to charge from a charger fitted to their home's is a issue to resolve to the future of electric or (your local city jag dealership would collect your ev from your home, to take it to the dealership with a charge station at their dealership, for you.. to charge it for 8hrs, and then return it to you once charged up or a courtesy car whilst yours charge) with a focus on a build of lower charging time's, also, (but if i could loan a courtesy car in on road parking with the no option to have a charger fitted to the home), whilst mine charged i certainly would love one, I love it, and the best styling of a electric car, I've seen at present

      - I'm in the same boat and thought about the emergency long distance trip you may need to do.
Someone said for long distances, they'd hire a car!!?? Which, if you know an emergency is going to happen, then it's all well and good. But emergency trips are not going to be in your diary!
And some brainless fool from across the pond suggested you buy two cars. One EV and one dinosaur fueled for the long trips. But who's gonna be able to afford to do that?
To be honest, Tesla are the only company who have the infrastructure in place for charging. And it's lifetime free if you buy a Model S or X!!

Lewis Roberts yes for YOU. But, you have to factor in, where people live, distance from friends and family, distance to work, type of job etc...I know for a fact, I won’t be able to charge it at the office car park and I’ll definitely have a problem if they ask me to make any even short journeys to customers during the day, the vehicle would simply run out of charge. I could on an on about real world scenarios. EV’s in reality are probably an option if you live close to your job and you literally never leave the office.

None of which is required on a Tesla, so not sure why Jag have seemingly made a cooling system that isn't maintenance free. Surely it would only need topping up in the event of a leak. Anyway, seems typically expensive, because it's a Jag.

@@jonathangreenwood8157 The Model 3 has no definitive service schedule, seems they've left it up to the owner to decide whether their car really needs looking at. Tesla say the Model 3 can go for 2 years until any remedial work is required, but even after that period there's generally nothing that'll need attention. The cost is negligible because they only 'recommend' changing the brake fluid, wiper blades, and servicing the AC.. all pretty cheap.

Our goverment subsides EV heavy, with extreme low tax when buying, less roadtax, free parking, free ferryride, free driving in the 2+person lane, and other stuff, but they have started taking goods away from EV, because we have so many here now, that they had a estimated loss of 34billion Nkr in tax and vat income because of all the subsidicing to get us drive EV's :)

I know some people become stressed by the American pronunciation of Jaguar but the awful truth is that the hard was taken from the Portuguese who used the word the Brazilian Indians called the cat that lived the the rain forest with them. The awful truth is American pronunciation is a lot closer to the native word than us brits saying JagUar.

It's real world range of under 200 miles and the difficulty in finding decent charging points just isn't good enough in a world where an ICE car driver can refuel practically anywhere and in a fraction of the time, getting more than 2 or 3 times the range of the average EV. I like this car though, but it's not a "one car solution", it's a second car.

Wouldn't it be "useful" if you were using the Thames-- say, during a drought? The ability to "plough" on, as it were, in "deeper" water? Oh, and bye the bye, if you will, the gentleman from the US' mpg figures didn't allow for the US "gallon" being smaller (which is, one might say, an anomaly, since in "the Land of the Free" everything is "Bigger.") or that he was "residing" on the hill above the town of Scranton, Pennsylvania (which if one is unfamiliar with such detail) is famous for being the "Home Town", as it were, the present President. Also in a less solemn vein, so to speak, by the late, but brilliant troubadour, Harry Chapin who recounted his "experience" of a truck which lost it's brakes going down said hill and the fate of his thirty thousand pounds of bananas. Unfortunately, not the "ending" as had "Nathan" from "Bolton?" with his all too recent experience with Jaguar I Pace EV and "brake" problems. Ps, the bananas, by the way, would be roughly 15 tons or seven hundred stones give or take a few.

It's how Americans say the word "vehicle" which annoys me, I mean it's our language we invented it, for 2000 years we've been saying the word vehicle correctly in the UK, it's not hard. And it's "do the maths" not "do the math, every time I write some python code "import math as maths".
Nice car mind, I'd have one but I'm only a spacecraft mechanisms/mechatronics design engineer and as we all know engineers are regarded as unskilled in the UK, only last week a recruiter noticed I'd studied a masters degree in astronautics engineering on linkedin and contacted me because they though I might like a to change jobs and be a forklift truck driver or forklift engineer as he called it, week before jetwash engineer (benefits of van + overalls), week before handyman engineer i.e a Janitor. So I need to save all my money and emigrate not buy a new flash EV.
