Stevie Nicks has something interesting to say about this video as it was originally part of a movie of them performing different songs and interviews in between. She mentions the clip was just them practicing in a rehearsal hall and their was nobody in the seats. It wasn't meant to be an official video for the song. It was just filming a practice as they were probably getting ready to go out on a tour and wanted material to review. Probably why John is just wearing shorts. Thank god they had some decent recording of their amps and mics going on. Stevie just shrugged her shoulders when told how much play the clip was getting all over the world. Really goes to show how on top of their game they were at that time period, especially Stevie.

Did you see her in the 70's? every time I saw her she was like this. It was fantastic I don't care if she was on drugs. I could be mistaken, but I believe this version of Rhiannon is called "rosebud.". another very similar performance was Rhiannon on The Midnight Special in '77 I think. I snuck a cassette recorder into their concert in 1978. I wonder if I uploaded it if I would get in trouble. the way she sang Sisters of the Moon is up there with the two Rhiannon's. Sadly, it's because of performances like this that her vocal cords were damaged. I read that she had to be trained to sing in a different way that wasn't so harmful to her vocal cords. RIp Christine. You will be missed so.

I have known this song since the album was released but this was my first time seeing it truly live like this. I was in gooseflesh and in awe by the end at the raw emotion displayed by EVERY member onstage . Stevie was feeling every note, Mick's face was that of a wildman, Christine was almost in a trance, incredible.

Stevie back then had what Janis Joplin had..and Stevie saw Janis in action when Stevie and Lindsey were in Fritz. It’s not so much that the torch bearers aren’t out there, it’s just that the music industry has ditched the music bit of their name. It’s just and industry now churning out product for profit, and talent and creativity has no part to play in that.

@@virginiaviola5097 Rick Beato did a video about this very thing. The record labels don't have any faith in young artists anymore to write their own songs. Most pop these days are written by a large number of writers and given to a singer to sing. Look at the writing credits on a lot of current popular songs...the list is long. Back in the 60 and 70's especially they let the artists write the stuff...with some input from the labels of course but they let them grow as writers even if it took several albums to finally write a masterpiece. They don't have that kind of patience today...like you said, they just want to churn out material and make fast money.....it's a shame because there has got to be lots of talent out there that isn't given the chance that these artists had. I fully believe there are genius song writers out there today who could do things this wonderful if given the chance and the time to grow.

Best live performance EVER by Fleetwood Mac. Bob Harris a UK TV presenter was there during the filming of this and said the entire crew from The Old Grey Whistle Test, the show it was filmed for, had goosebumps and saw the band hit "another level" towards the end of the song.

Rhiannon is a character in the Mabinogion, frequently interpreted as a horse goddess. Her story has little to do with the lyrics of the song but the idea of who she would have been if she were a goddess known in now-lost sources probably influenced it.
