The lighting hitting her bangs and making a perfect shadow framing her face, combined with sparkly makeup - GREAT. Stevie has one of the most beautiful faces in rock ever. And she definitely has talent which stands on its own, regardless of anything else - amazing voice and range! Upon re-watching the video now, during the chorus, are you noticing something? Lindsey hangs back from his mic, while Stevie leans in! And he also has his huge smile on his face at most times, right? He is absolutely blown away by her voice and wanted to create the ultimate platform for her to shine, didn't want to get in the way himself too much. And he doesn't - I can barely hear his signature countertenor during the chorus, while Stevie's full-throated alto bursts forth like angelic tones that we love her for. And she puts so much more heat on her delivery of the chorus then she did on the studio version - I would've been absolutely thrilled to be in the audience on this performance. Though of course I should've said so when I first posted my comment, another wonderful upload, Midnight Special people! Keep it up!
I've been in love with Stevie Nicks since I was a teen and being introduced to FM and her solo albums beginning with Belladonna.🥰🥰🥰Miss Stevie Nicks 🥰🥰🥰
Right now Stevie Nicks is on tour. Still rocking it. Sometimes with Billy Joel. Music of my high school years and still so good. Seeing Christine McVie doing harmony with Stevie makes me sad she’s gone. So much talent in one group.
I just saw her last week, and man can she still sing! Her range is lower than it was, but the power and soul is still there in her voice! She performed a whole 2 hour long concert too! Not bad for being 75! I would recommend seeing her on this tour for sure!

One of my all-time favorite songs, and this is the DEFINITIVE version that should be played on the radio because Stevie becomes possessed and otherworldly ant takes the song to an entirely new level!!!!

The Midnight Special was insanely good with insanely good performances. This is either a walk down memory lane or insight into a time when music required talent. Todays groups are nothing more than a background for selfies, they lack the intimacy of shared experience and getting lost in the pleasure of the song.
The best of both Stevie and Ann Wilson came out in 1976. This is the best version of this song I've heard. It's too bad I only heard the radio versions back in.
I love Ann even more actually. I think her voice is even better than Stevie's. Those notes she hits, just wow. Like her and her sisters personalities better too. Thanks for mentioning Ann too. Stevie is incredible too though , just not as much as Ann to me lol .
I was a 5 or 6 year old, living across the street from the bills stadium where the concert goers paid to park in our apartment complex.. my aunts and uncles (10 years older then me) tailgated. I was about 5 and had my first poster of Fleetwood Mac.
Seeing that performance on tv back then, I didn't appreciate it because of my youth. Now, it seems so foreign to actually see an artist play an instrument and sing live flawlessly. I miss that era.
In my senior year high school 1976. A lot of great Midnight Specials this might be the best. Was a great time to be alive and listening to rock and roll
This my favorite Fleetwood Mac song. Stevie, sings it better than ever. Fleetwood Mac is my number one favorite band. RIP Christine McVie you are missed, but we have your music that will live on forever in our lives and hearts. 🙏🕊🌹🎵
Not only one of their best performances but some friggin incredible camera and sound work. It will never be matched...ever ❤ it this so powerful & priceless
Big sound and big hair.
I saw this when I was thirteen years old. I fell in love with Stevie and Fleetwood Mac and have been amazed by them ever since then. RIP Christine.
Keep it up!
Bring back bangs. Nothing sexier.
@@jimwind7589what are bangs?
I've been in love with Stevie Nicks since I was a teen and being introduced to FM and her solo albums beginning with Belladonna.🥰🥰🥰Miss Stevie Nicks 🥰🥰🥰
@@rivergladesgardenrailroad8834 hair covering the forehead.
She’s not wearing makeup, that’s sweat.
I remember watching this at that time. Her voice was never better. Wish I could go back ......
Right now Stevie Nicks is on tour. Still rocking it. Sometimes with Billy Joel. Music of my high school years and still so good.
Seeing Christine McVie doing harmony with Stevie makes me sad she’s gone. So much talent in one group.
I watched a recording of it on UA-cam. It's amazing what she's still capable of.
I just saw her last week, and man can she still sing! Her range is lower than it was, but the power and soul is still there in her voice! She performed a whole 2 hour long concert too! Not bad for being 75! I would recommend seeing her on this tour for sure!
That was amazing.
Back in the day We couldn't wait for Midnight Special to come on the TV, and We had the local radio station synced to our stereo which kept Up the neighbors, cops came by several times
There is no fancy light show or distracting props, just wonderful and captivating music. Now these guys are true artist, which is very rare these days.
The harmonies between Stevie and Christine are so damn good!
This song would open up the world to Stevie!!! She was a force of nature!!!
This is my absolute favorite performance of this classic song Stevie’s vocals give me chills, and the shear power at the end of this is stunning. It’s almost like she could explode. Wish I could have been there …..This band live was a beast.
Amigo ella es fantástica su voz es incomparable
💯💯❤❤❤mi Stevie nick’s love 💗 ever
Storytellers set to music. Lyrics were so much better back then.
When musicians were musicians no synthesizers all natural true music thank you guy's love and peace from Saint Louis Mo.
You watch this and--whatever the internal divisions in the band--they all knew this was the ride of a lifetime. Stunning then and now.
Fleetwood Mac is how, when, and why I fell in love with music. Phenomenal performance. "Rhiannon" will always be my favorite song of theirs.
I saw fm in july '76. I was right up front standing only 12 feet from stevie, jax fl. I will never forget her beauty and grace and i nearly fainted when see looked right at me and winked! 😊
What young guy in 76 DIDN'T have a crush on Stevie..lol. A Great performance. Thanks for releasing these midnight special vids. Tried to catch them, whenever I could, back in the day.
Our pleasure!
If he said he didn’t he was lying.
Yeah I was 17 in 76. Major crush on Stevie. We didn’t have women like her in the Midwest.
@@dougmackey3696 I seen her first. 😆 Go away!
I'm very late to their music, but I'm loving this performance. Great band, and Nick's voice is extremely unique and strong.
They're all very talented! 👍🏻
Peak of their powers, it doesn’t get better than this
No lip syncing, auto tune, just pure talent. She still sounds great at 76 as she did back then.
You mean 1976 ?
@@atmakali9599 It's called talent and hard work, grow up .
Stevie Nicks is such a beauty.
One of my all-time favorite songs, and this is the DEFINITIVE version that should be played on the radio because Stevie becomes possessed and otherworldly ant takes the song to an entirely new level!!!!
I am 57 years old as a kid I used to watch the Saturday Night Live and I saw this as a young man and I was highly impressed with such exceptionalism. Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac will always be right by me.❤❤🤩
7 years old when this was performed on this date... Loved it then and love it still. She was such a hottie. And even now still some hotness to her.... One of my crushes in the 80's.....Lol!
The Midnight Special was insanely good with insanely good performances. This is either a walk down memory lane or insight into a time when music required talent. Todays groups are nothing more than a background for selfies, they lack the intimacy of shared experience and getting lost in the pleasure of the song.
The end is so powerful, amazing
Fleetwood Mac was soooooo good. Absolute hit making machine in the 70’s and 80’s.
And the 60s with the legendary Peter Green with Black Magic Woman and Albatross
WOW! Chills!!! I've never seen this version. Thanks for sharing!
This is the best version I’ve ever heard!
Agreed
No matter what my husband said , I love this song .
I LOVE STEVIE NICKS , AND FLEETWOOD MAC !!
Serious talent every member
This is still the best musical performance I have ever seen I wish I could have been in the room back then.
Stayed up late every weekend to watch this show and see the biggest acts like Fleetwood Mac
Fantastic sound from the band but also the sound guy. That guitar solo is excellent!
Couldn't agree more!
Rumors album came out and it was the Top for over a year. Like the Hysteria album but much bigger for its time. Great to be young then.
I thought it was great until I put on a set of studio headphones and listened again while it rocked my world. Stevie's voice!!! In 65 years I've heard a handful who could handle anything close to that without serious damage.
Amazing what a truly talented singer can do, unlike many today.
This is a Master class on "The Voice is the Band"
The Midnight Special is the best channel on UA-cam.
The best quality of this video I've ever seen, Fleetwood Mac's first television appearance with Stevie and Lindsey, just amazing.
The Old Welsh witch !! Best live performance by Stevie ! All in all, Fleetwood Mac are one of the Best bands around !!
LOVE your hairstyle Stevie Nicks 😮💯
I still can't get over how this is literally the greatest live musical performance ever
The power and raw emotion of this is off the dial. Perfect rock ‘n roll for the enjoyment of everyone
And, the coke and LSD didn’t hurt
@@billadams5778 Coke and LSD would PREVENT this level of performance, willy
Beautiful song I can't imagine singing it every night though, she is one of a kind.
