This o'l girl has gone many a mile, and with a little love will go many more. She reminds me of my dad's o'l chevy 3100 that quit him one day on the way home from work, he had Bullwinkle towing, tow it home for him to our house, and there it sat in the lean to shed he built for it for 25 years. When I was 11 or so I used to climb into it and sit on a stack of old phone books, and pretend I was a on a journey across America I drove that thing a million miles and it never moved an inch. Years later he made it run and gave it to me. I went to every state in the country in that old truck and Alaska. 3 motors 3 girlfriends, and more may pop tires than I can remember. I'm 72 now and remember it like yesterday. I look forward to the many miles we will ride this old sweetheart. Be well.

I've owned a 78 shovelhead for many years now.
It started life as a shrine model 74 cubic inch, and over the years, it's unrecognizable as a flh shriner.
The only original parts are the tanks, frame, engine, and transmission.
It's like a caterpillar transformation into a butterfly or maybe a moth 🤔 hahaha.
Good luck with your new project.
Once you get the shovelhead itch, it spreads quickly, and there's no cure for it.
You just adapt and learn to live with it.

78 and half means the motor is 80 inches instead of 74.

I’m curious, where are you guys located? I’m figuring somewhere in Canada. Am I right? I’d like to get a basket pan head, I’ve had a shovel and now I have a twin cam and a M8 trike that I did a pretty extensive 131 build on. Hauls balls now but still looking for that pan. Take care and I’ll be watching.

Located on the east coast in Nova Scotia. Very hard to find basket cases these days let alone a Panhead one, in this part of the country. Thanks for commenting.

Well it's plainly obvious to me that all it needs is coconut oil( the cheap stuff)

I don't know if it's original but will have to look into that for the future. Never seen one with a "bee" instead of the 60 mph. Maybe someone out there knows a little more about it. Let us know if you do. Thanks for commenting.

I will never understand why people would just leave a harley outside for years. Just throw a tarp or a sheet of plywood over it. I don't get it. PANHEADS FOREVER.

Me either. I hate to see them discard like this. I guess they just don't get it or see what we see in them. But she will rise again! Thanks for commenting.
