Bruce Springsteen killed it for me!! When he and Stevie Wonder sung together Bruce sung it like he was in pain!! Like he was giving birth to something inside of him!! They all killed it, but Bruce killed it, woke it back up and killed again!! It gave me chills!! Especially when he belts out, "We are the world!! We are the children" with Stevie towards the end!!

All these artists are powerhouses in their genre of music (motown alum, pop, rock, country, folk, R & B, etc). This song was accomplished in 1 day starting pretty late due to some of the same artists performing at the Grammys that night. All of them had to learn it (that's why some are still reading the music). None of them got paid. I'm soooo glad you named the artists as they sang, I was sooo curious to put a face to the music. Thank you!! Very emotional! We need peace and love and so relevant now!
The 1985 version is one of my favorite songs ever. The 2019 version is very good - there are some excellent singers amongst them - but I don't know who any of them are. Part of what made 1985's version so great was that so many superstars put aside their egos to work together on a humanitarian cause to create something so hopeful, beautiful, and timeless. It continues to bring people to joyful tears 36 years later.
I disliked the 2019's version as there was nowhere near as much diversity in terms of the music genres being represented. It felt to heavily focused on the hip hop and rap style of music.
This is such a different style of music for you, but right now this song has a lot of meaning, Kel was so emotional during that, brought tears to my eyes too, not heard that song for a while, forgot how powerful and good it is, that new version is good too, STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY BOTH OF YOU

Does your mother love that MJ abused boys that parents pimped out for a cash pay out. Happened repeatedly to almost bankrupt him before he fled out of the country. Guilty as sin.
Thank you. I’ve been stuck in a nursing home for a year with no family or friends. I’ve been locked away in a medical prison of sorts, and I have seen and experienced things that nobody my young age should have to. But...all that said, I look for the things that keep me happy. This video here makes me happy too. So again, thank you for that.
I was 16 when the '85 version was released, and I remember the impact. Don't fret, Kel - it still makes me a lil' weepy. I adore you two, and the obvious bond you have. (Also, I watched the whole thing. Because, you guys are kindred spirits.)
Harry Belafonte was on the back row. They taped and filmed this right after the Grammy Awards. It was the only way to get all these people together at once. Quincy, MJ and Lionel Richie organized this and wrote the song. I was 20 and this was one of the biggest songs of the year in '85.
Hey Kel-n-Rich, Yes I'd stayed through the whole video and yes I also had the 12-inch single album version of the original 1995's We Are The World by USA For Africa & Grace by Quincy Jones on the flip side of that single back in the day and I even watched the video on MTV when it had premiered and I enjoyed it and all. And as for The Magnificent 12's version of the song, Well, It was pretty good and they put their own flavor on it and still stayed true to the original arrangement and I'll respect that although it's not my type of music but we need to hear something uplifting right now and since I couldn't find a metal version of that song then this will have to be the next best thing!! Hope that you all keeping the faith & keep rockin' us with those reactions during our lock down and hope to hear from you soon!! Thanks, Keep, Keep It Positive & Stay Metal!!, Walter -
Loved seeing your reaction to the MAG12! My wife and I and many of our friends are very fortunate to be here in New Smyrna Beach, FL where we have seen these performers individually and with their own bands. Jeremy and Andrea Mix are personal friends and this was Jeremy's project. It was his idea to form the MAG12 to get exposure and work for local artists and this re-release so to speak is perfect for these times that we all are going through. Thank you for expanding the horizons of all these great people!
Well done Kel-n-Rich! You couldn't have selected a more opportune time for posting this particular Vlog. Kel, your comments aboiut judgement is spot on. I we give it some thought the conflict in conjunction with those judgements are part of a world wide problem. I believe, that once we stop identifying ourselves by our differences and start embracing each other by what we have in common, we will have created a better world. Just a thought. Thanks again for this very thoughtful post...TC & GB
Hi Rich and Kel..TY so very much for the inspiration as it is so needed right now, as a first responder in Helicopter rescue as a intensive care paramedic I daily make the decision to place myself before others needs..and right now it is scary for all, myself included..I feel helpless at times as i am fighting something I can not see or have had experience of before..I am fighting the unknown..not something I can fit a splint too or stitch or repair..the isolation, the despair, the madness of the hoarding which leaves nothing on the shelf for ones like myself to have to eat..I will carry on as it is all I know and have known for 23 years now I will continue to do all i can..but we all need these inspiration video's to keep our connection our spirits and our hope as we all are in this together Hugs from Australia Keep Safe Keep Strong
Kel welcome to your musical awakening it's a pleasure to be on this ride with you. Your reaction are so pure raw and uplifting. I have problems in my life my husband is in prison my daughter has special needs and we lost everything due to a robbery and subsequent court battle. Paying for lawyers and the loss of our small business that was robbed. The reason my husband is in prison he killed the suspect. Watching you is my little piece of joy on the daily. So THANK YOU... In some small way i feel like your partner does it's infectious the both of you are amazing...
Kel and I are here. We feel the weight of the words in your message. It’s given us pause and clearly shows how difficult and challenging life can be. We never get ‘used’ to hearing these types of stories. Please continue to power through. You are doing it! Please give your husband our most heartfelt regards. Stay strong. Share the music and moments with us. We hope to return to our show in the summer. Much love and strength to you and yours. Kel and Rich 🥰💪🏼🎼
Wow, thanks for playing this! This is a mag12ver. Jeremy Mix and Andrea Elmer are the masterminds of all we do. Helping each other is the ONLY way through. Me vs. You will only end in demise. We are all conciousness incarnate. In that way we are different versions of the same being. Love is the way, it is the inevitable eventuality of ALL of us.
Very moving, i'm Brazilian iget tired of watching this clip and thinking How proud these people must haver been of the good they did for those people who suffered from hunger! 🙏 Congratiulations on the reaction and her real emotion! 👏👏👏
Unless it's on here and I haven't seen it yet only because I'm just at the beginning make sure that you look up the 25-year anniversary We are the world that is revolving around the tragedy in Haiti at that time. Same song structure with the different array of artists and just as compelling.
My brother sent me this and ended up loving it. After John Prine passing this week maybe emotions are elevated but seeing the original WATW brought back so many memories. That was the year that me and Jeremy first got MTV at home as kids. Looking at all of the artists that were there and now gone and knowing we will lose more greats in the decade to come. Life really is short especially when you can cut back to 85 so quick. Now I fast forward to see what my brother helped put together and how great everyone sounds all for a good cause. Then watching you two respond to it I'm busting with pride for my brother and his better half Andrea(Are Friends Electric if you want to see their project). Music so matters and thank you for reminding me of this today.
At 10:45, that was Harry Bellefonte.. I know I'm a few months short but seen it was the only one that escaped you so thought I would help if you wanted it:)
The Magnificent 12 are a super group comprised of Florida musicians, who came together to record We Are The World. This is but another example of the many talented artists that fly under the radar. Thanks for featuring them in one of your reaction videos. Luv watching and listening to your comments, by the way, always look forward to it.
In my country (The Netherlands) the state is pumping 5 billion euro into the economy so the small and middle sized companies can stay afloat without having business right now and keep paying wages. Also all people are guaranteed a minimum wage from the government if they don't have a job anymore (that is always so, not only these times) which as far as I know is everywhere in Europe the case.
I stayed till the end had not seen the second one so thankyou . I think because we are so far apart from each other at the moment when the virus is over they should have a group of people from many different coutries perform this or a new song to bring us all together again.
Nice reaction video guys, Harry Belafonte was the guy next to Dan Aykroyd , Jeffrey Osborne next to Kenny Loggins, I toured with some of these guys . Cyndi Lauper really brought it to another level. Good stuff..... I didn't feel the passion in the 2nd version, so I can't comment on it.
Harry Belafonte is standing next to Dan Aykroyd. One of the Pointer Sisters (I don't know which one) is standing in front of them the first time they are shown with the sunglasses.
In 1985 it was a galaxy of legends never to be repeated ever again!!! It was refreshing to see you recognising all of them in contrast to most others reacting on this song without having a clue for most of these legends!!
Watching the 1985 version makes me sad in many ways. First the due to the reason they were there. Second is more complicated. The state of the music industry that prevents a artist from so many different labels working together. The awe inspiring talent involved was amazing. Isn't this the world we all wanted to live in? All races and types of people working together for a worthy cause. Whar happened between then and now? Condtant cries of racism, bickering among everyone about differing "realities". I was an adult at the time of the original and now. Really don't comprend what went so very wrong. Listening to the second version was inspiring and depressing at the same time. For the above the things noted about the original. Consider me another dazed and confused soul.
Can't believe this was 8 months ago and I hadn't seen it yet, even though my favorites are the Rush and ELO reactions. Incidentally, Geddy Lee was part of a Canadian benefit group called Northern Lights that made a song titled Tears Are Not Enough. And of course in the UK it was Band Aid with Do They Know Its Christmas

Most people fail to recognize Dan Ackroyd who is standing in the back next to Harry Bellefonte. Harry Bellefonte is the one who originally had the idea to put this together and then approached Lionel Ritchie and Kenny Rogers who worked on bringing in other artists. Lionel brought in Michael Jackson. These two, together composed the song.

Can't get over Michael Jackson's entrance❤❤❤
It was hot like everything he does 🔥
Such a classic song...Love it. Thanks for react.
David Paich and Steve Porcaro were founding members of Toto. Paich sung lead on "Africa" along with Bobby Kimball.
I was 16 when the '85 version was released, and I remember the impact. Don't fret, Kel - it still makes me a lil' weepy.
I adore you two, and the obvious bond you have.
(Also, I watched the whole thing. Because, you guys are kindred spirits.)
RIP Kenny
The best video reaction. You knew every singer and felt impressed. Thanks🔝🤗
Harry Belafonte was on the back row. They taped and filmed this right after the Grammy Awards. It was the only way to get all these people together at once. Quincy, MJ and Lionel Richie organized this and wrote the song. I was 20 and this was one of the biggest songs of the year in '85.
Totally enjoyed both versions. Your comments at the end were great.
After watching countless reactions to this song, you were the first one to acknowledge Dan in the back. Awesome! Nice!✌😎
Hey Kel-n-Rich,
Yes I'd stayed through the whole video and yes I also had the 12-inch single album version of the original 1995's We Are The World by USA For Africa & Grace by Quincy Jones on the flip side of that single back in the day and I even watched the video on MTV when it had premiered and I enjoyed it and all.
Thanks, Keep, Keep It Positive & Stay Metal!!,
Walter -
Great video! Weeping now on this one. Great artists came together in both eras!!! Holy smokes...
The 1985 version always brings a tear to my eye, there was so much talent back then, takes me back to the 80s such a great era
thanks so much for playing the song and not stopping it. loved the reaction.
Impeccable choice of song!! Thank You!
I love the voice of the one who sings Dionne Warwick's part in the 2019 version. She sounds amazing.
Ok watched so many reaction to this song and omg thank you for this they literally recognized everyone, this just so beautiful to watch
It's so refreshing to see that u know most of those artists I grew up in the 80s and I love all these people
Huey, Cyndi, and Kim's bridge was ace!
I just love her she's just like me. The cup is always 1/2 full not 1/2 empty. May all of your cups forever be full of Love Life and Joy
THANKS FOR THE SHOUTOUT GUYS I LOVE YOU BOTH LET'S DO ANOTHER VIDEO AGAIN SOON!!!!🖤🤘🏻🙏
Take care of you beautiful souls 💖💖✨
Wow again , you two just showed me what an amazing group this Magnificent 12 is, geez im sooooo impressed 👏 🤘👍
Hi Rich and Kel..TY so very much for the inspiration as it is so needed right now, as a first responder in Helicopter rescue as a intensive care paramedic I daily make the decision to place myself before others needs..and right now it is scary for all, myself included..I feel helpless at times as i am fighting something I can not see or have had experience of before..I am fighting the unknown..not something I can fit a splint too or stitch or repair..the isolation, the despair, the madness of the hoarding which leaves nothing on the shelf for ones like myself to have to eat..I will carry on as it is all I know and have known for 23 years now I will continue to do all i can..but we all need these inspiration video's to keep our connection our spirits and our hope as we all are in this together
Hugs from Australia Keep Safe Keep Strong
Congratiulations on the reaction and her real emotion! 👏👏👏
Hey Kel &Rick David Paich is a member of ToTo Who gave us that wonderful song Africa Jeff Pocaro was also in the band too.
I choose the original singers 1985 !!! but they are legends!!!!
Unless it's on here and I haven't seen it yet only because I'm just at the beginning make sure that you look up the 25-year anniversary We are the world that is revolving around the tragedy in Haiti at that time. Same song structure with the different array of artists and just as compelling.
"Ruby, don't send yr love to town" was one of my first 45s. "Islands in the Stream" is one of the best duets, pop music-wise.
That's the old days when the US cared about others.
damn its so nice to see person who knows everyone :O even i didnt knew few
All artists are great but nothing compares Cyndi Lauper´s part.
I thought I was the only one 😂✌️❤️
I’d argue Bruce Springsteen blows them all out of the water. I get goose bumps every time.
Me i think the same cyndi's part is amazing!!!
They're all great. But when Steve Perry comes on.... tears flow harder
@@AbeVicious - Yeah, he has such a great voice.
I just finished watching your video to the end I remember when song came out didn't know about the remake in 2019 a big 👍from Texas love u guys❤
Love how you knew most of the singers in the '85 version 😊👏👍
Harry Belafonte is standing next to Dan Aykroyd. One of the Pointer Sisters (I don't know which one) is standing in front of them the first time they are shown with the sunglasses.
You two are such a delight together, and have such delight in music.
Watching those legends man...No words can explain the joy and emotions...
In 1985 it was a galaxy of legends never to be repeated ever again!!! It was refreshing to see you recognising all of them in contrast to most others reacting on this song without having a clue for most of these legends!!
❤❤❤ We are the world
for nature, all races and religions ❤❤❤
WHAT? The great Kenny Rogers died and I didn't hear about it? R.I.P. great one!!!
Consider me another dazed and confused
soul.
Incredible LEGENDS!!!!
Congratulations!!! You sir are the ONLY person I know to have been able to name off nearly ALL the people in "We are the World"..(you missed only a few) .I knew all cause I grew up with them, but today it is impressive for anyone to know who they all are...
Lionel Richie - 0:26 Stevie Wonder - 0:39 Paul Simon - 0:43 Kenny Rogers - 0:53 James Ingram - 0:59 Tina Turner - 1:06 Billy Joel - 1:13 Michael Jackson - 1:19 Diana Ross - 1:32 Dionne Warwick - 1:48 Willie Nelson - 2:02 Al Jarreau - 2:09 Bruce Springsteen - 2:15 Kenny Loggins - 2:21 Steve Perry - 2:28 Daryl Hall - 2:36 Huey Lewis - 2:48 Cyndi Lauper - 2:54 Kim Carnes - 3:02 Bob Dylan - 3:48 Ray Charles - 4:27 “We Are the World” Chorus (alphabetically) Dan Aykroyd Harry Belafonte Lindsey Buckingham Mario Cipollina Johnny Colla Sheila E. Wow, I was waiting for this. So much like to see this Reaction, And Please Stay Safe. N Blessed. Love...
Timeless talent. What a cast. Wow.
Her heart is so receptive to this, and there's someone stuck in the intellect next to her.
LEGENDS...just legends..
So special. Thanks. ❤️🙏🏽KnR
i agree with Kel..is always how i think:)
great remake..they are both great..enjoy and ty for showing this to me:)
Great reaction, that song is still very moving. Thanks
