Elvis was 25 when he walked in to the studio that night...He was recording his first album since coming out of the service. The difference music/backing wise between 58 to 66 was the A TEAM,best of the best musicians in NASHVILLE. KEV
The commercial version was singer Peggy Lee. Elvis is so sentual that it sounds to every woman that he's singer right to her. He was diffinately a phrasing artist and a passionate singer. Someone once said that true Talent was when you are able to sell what you are feeling. Thanks man.
Elvis recorded some of his best music in 1960. His voice was remarkable, a voice no one can reproduce. Elvis was the music man and still is. Awesome reaction ❤
Elvis in 1960, untouchable, coming back from the Army, more «mature». Credit to Peggy Lee, but this is…..another level, simple as that. What a singer and interpreter of songs he was, no one to touch him, IMHO.
Please trust me: go watch his performance in "King Creole" movie. It was his best performance. (you should make sure to get the actual clip.) Look for "Trouble" from King Creole. You will love it Elvis doing "Trouble" in that movie is so good
Elvis voice in the 60s was the most versatile and at its vocal peak! It’s absolute perfection. He had every nuance, perfect pitch, tone, power and the sexuality in his voice that will never ever be matched. He is by far the greatest singer male or female in the history of music! Not to mention he had unbelievable charisma and looked better than every other man. He is the GOAT!!
Great performance, staying fairly true to Peggy Lee's version (even more so than Little Willie John's). In fairness, props should also go to both of them and their bands for their renditions that inspired the Elvis performance.
I agree that 1960 was a year of gorgeous Elvis singing. A lot of my favorite songs are from this year, starting with Elvis Is Back. Fever is phenomenal. ❤❤❤
This used to be my favorite song from Elvis, YOU GIVE ME FEVER!! VERY VERY SEXY VOCALS AND BASS SNAPPING FINGERS, YOU GIVE ME FEVER!! I USED TO PERFORMED THIS FOR MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I WANTED TO BE A ROCK STAR IN MY TEENAGE YEARS, I KNOW PRETTY SILLY. AWESOME REACTION RORY 💙 AND THANK YOU KEVIN FOR THIS AMAZING REQUEST!! 😊🩷🤘✌️
I always find your responses pure and honest. You know how to explain exactly what you feel and hear. We as Elvis fans all over the world appreciate you for that. But I think you're one of the Elvis fans yourself.
I saw Elvis perform this live in 1973 & again in '74. Of course his voice was deeper & more mature. I can't say which way I like it better, I love every phase his voice went through. But I can guarantee you, he gave every woman & girl in the audience fever. All kinds of fever. I was a teenage Robert Plant fanatic...but Elvis in the flesh? Boy howdy.👀🤩🫠🥰 Peggy Lee had a big hit with "Fever" in 1958. She was one of the few female singers of that era who wasn't afraid to express her sensuality, even on family type tv variety shows. And she was a great singer. I'd love to see you react to her version too.✨️✨️
not bad for Take 1

You nailed it completely Rory, nothing to really add, except this could of easily been used as the final master,
Rory watch Elvis sing this live in the aloha from Hawaii concert ❤
Um, wow, that was, uh 🔥 🔥 🔥. That was dripping with sensuality. Lord have mercy. Agree about what he produced in 1960…the best!
