Muhammad Ali said Elvis was the sweetest, kindest, most humble man he ever knew.
Delores Hart became a nun and still shows up for his tribute in Memphis. He had an engaging and humble personality.
Elvis was an AMAZING Actor. It’s crazy he wasn’t allowed to have big roles. His evil Manager only cared about easy money.
Elvis was nothing if not unique. He changed the world with music. Had he been given a fair shot as an actor, instead of being used as a cash cow, I think his body of work would have rivaled his music career. Even with the crappy, formulaic scripts he was given, Elvis save at least two studios from going bankrupt. And those looks, and that smile. I have several photos where Elvis is looking into the camera that I could just stare at for days. Some photos of Elvis are just fun, but these few make me feel as though he is looking into my soul, and I feel like he's literally going to speak to me any second. Nobody else still has the kind of presence of Elvis. Enjoy Graceland, Ray, and drink in that spirit.

EP was simply extraordinary.....he never put anyone down in public, even if he knew how special he was or how ugly he was treated. He didn't need to blow his own horn either coz that wasn't his style....the world chose to crown him and hold him up above everyone else as a supreme being.
The girl in the movie became a nun Sister Delores. And she was starting to have a successful movie career
Elvis showed real acting talent in his 2nd, 3rd and 4th movies in 1957 and 1958. Then post Army, Col Parker wanted 25 yr old Elvis to clean up his act. One could see that on 1960 appearance on Frank Sinatra show. The 1st few post army movies and Viva Las Vegas with Ann Margaret was a hit. But then despite Elvis repeatedly telling Parker that he wanted to do serious acting movies, the movies became cookie cover like travel logs and Parker had producers known for quickie movies, and Elvis grew weary with the sound tracks and the plots. It just became a quick money making scheme for Parker. Elvis was trapped by long movie contracts and false promises from Parker. The 68 Comeback Special, was in 1968 called the Elvis Timex special, but given most people had not seen Elvis just being Elvis since 1960 the reviews were praising how great Elvis was. He showed he was better than ever and better than all the rest. So it was needed and put him right back on top and has since been called the 68 Comeback Special. Every man and woman who worked with Elvis have said how handsome he was, and even male actors and singers have said he was the prettiest man ever. They all also said he was just the nicest guy.
Friend - I agree with everything, except the 68 Special was sponsored by Singer, not Timex.
The actress ,Delores hart,became a nun,i think she loved elvis.

And this was only his 2nd movie. He was a very, very good actor. If only someone had looked out for his development as an actor and not just a cash cow. But this one thing they can never take away, no matter how hard they hate on him, his talent was stellar and his character was genuine. We remember you Elvis, and we love you...still.

That's similar to the line that Lisa Marie sang about him. She sang " you were lovely, you're still lovely". That song brings tears to my eyes. You are right, he was special and still is. There will never be another like him. May they both rest in peace ♥

My favourite Elvis Film ever. I actually saw this over 100 times at different movie theatres throughout the UK. True.
(I am Mary) Such a wonderful doc, I have never seen it before and I have seen everything Elvis. Which proves the point if people are willing to listen and see, Elvis was different from any one in the Business. He was meant for what he did. when you have everyone who worked with him, singing his praise. that's remarkable. It was a magic that is God given. I hope sometime you can get to the interview about Elvis called "Bruno Kirby Story, The Magic of Elvis", it is funny and unforgettable. Bruno became an actor after this encounter with Elvis. Thanks Ray, you are so good at what you do. I appreciate you. thanks and Be Blessed.

He had great comedic timing..most dramatic actors lack.Elvis was a great drama actor too.He did it all.
He was very funny! His laugh was the greatest! I remember what Elvis went through during the 50s! He also couldn't go Anywhere without a camera in his face; even filling out Army induction papers, getting his famous hair cut,his standing in line waiting to get weighed,at the airport leaving, coming home; they just wouldn't leave him alone.

Elvis would do that- get his friends or family members into the cast of one of his movies somehow.
His cousin Billy Smith talked about how they all had to get an actor's union card and too one time (on account that he was a smaller guy) once played a woman in a bit part in one of Elvis's movies.
And one time for laughs Elvis once put on a blonde woman's wig and walked into a movie theater with that wig on his head.
Elvis was just like that. He had a great sense of humor.
Not to mention a totally infectious laugh. His family and friends all said when Elvis laughed you couldn't help but laugh right along with him.

Delores Hart did two movies with Elvis. She was considered to be the next Grace Kelly. At 24 she was at the peak of her career when she decided to become a nun in a cloistered Abby. She is Mother Delores now as she is the dean of the Abby. There is a documentary entitled God is Bigger Than Elvis. The documentary short was nominated for an Oscar. She walked the red carpet at the Oscars in full habit. I highly recommend the documentary.

I have never seen this before, loved it. I remember going to the theatre to see “loving You”, the songs in this movie are great. I was a huge Elvis fan then and even more so now. Thanks for these Elvis reactions Ray.
Loving You is my #2 Elvis movie. I think it's sometimes not as talked about because of the greatness of King Creole and Jailhouse Rock. The plot twist of him not even being Deke Rivers, but Jimmy Tompkins, that was a great scene, probably the best in that movie, imo. You can tell Elvis was putting real work in his acting.
I’m glad you’re doing this because I feel I know him because I am such a fan and read all about him. I was a fan since I was nine, and watched all his movies when they were showing on Saturdays. I feel like I know his soul; he was kind, humble, loving, generous , genuine and above all, he loved God! I love him “ the man “ his heart ❤❤❤❤❤

This is a great movie and Elvis was great in it. I've seen it many times and never get tired of watching it. I just love it. Dolores Hart Elvis' co star made her movie debut in Loving You, went on to become a nun in later years. I've seen this documentary it's excellent. Great reaction!

His Parents and Grandma are in the audience. His Mom is wearing blue and you can see her leaning a bit in the walkway. But when they pan out for the whole audience you can see his Parents and his Grandma that was in the row behind Gladys and Vernon.

He should have gotten the part for Rainmaker. Ray you must also watch the documentary of June Juanico. Film of Elvis vacationing with her in 1956 and she talks about the fact that he just wanted people to like him and why were they saying the Devil sent him. It's a great documentary.

Really enjoyed seeing this as i had not it before.
He was either going to be the greatest musician of the world or the greatest actor of the world.
He settled for being one of the greatest human beings of the world, the greatest musician that ever lived, and one of the greatest actors that ever lived.
Had he lived, fired his doctor and his manager, took a year off and got back into shape -- I believe he could’ve dominated the 1980s and 1990s both in Hollywood as an actor, and performed around the world selling out the largest arenas in the universe.
Truly, the only thing the man needed was a series of specialists to treat him for his ailments and a dietitian to ensure he was only putting healthy ingredients in his body.

Someone that knew him from before the beginning and during those early years said that this movie was very close to an autobiographical representation of how it was for Elvis in real life. Amazing. (Judy C)
Wonderful reaction Ray! He was such a fantastic actor, he must have been so frustrated by the type of roles they were giving him later on. So disappointing that the few dramatic roles he did later on were not as successful at the box offfice, such as Flaming Star. I really love that movie! Still, he managed to make some great movies; King Creole, Wild in the Country, Jailhouse Rock, Flaming Star, Kid Galahad and Blue Hawaii are my favourites. I must check out Loving You now, I have seen lots of snippets but never the whole movie.
Excellent book. Just finished it a few days ago. Puts the history of his health issues and his use of medication in context for me but also elevates him to a whole other level for putting his family, friends and fans first. Of course he reaped rewards but he generously shared all those rewards too. Being private about his health issues might also explain why he could never get rid of Parker. Perhaps with each added medical issue that piled on, he eventually understood that no one else would sign on to manage a man who was struggling so much in his private life. His dream may have been to be ‘a great actor’ but I personally think that dream was too small. There are many great actors. Somehow he didn’t think the world would remember him. In terms of his short career what he actually worked for, and in my opinion, his ultimate purpose in being here was actually to be the greatest entertainer and he was just too humble to realize the extent of his cultural and global impact. While entertainers may now be starting to break some of his records…Elvis did it all by performing on stage for only 10 years of his career…and without travelling outside of the States except for 3 stops in Canada. And, somehow, despite severe and failing health, he gifted the world his incredible voice accompanied by a smile, humour, charm and Elvis kindness.

As an actor, I always thought Elvis was a natural. The films from the 60's were silly (but a guilty pleasure none the less) and a waste of those abilities.
The idea for that snowman came from under that hat!! I caught your drift about the cone hat, but that evilness it symbolizes, should NEVER be associated with Elvis or anything about him.
