Buddy holly was one of the greatest musicians of all time, he was born in an era that really didn’t appreciate it, he has influenced all main stream music today, without many realising it xo 😘 the day mr music died 😞
Why is this man not in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame? He wrote Running Bear , White Lightning and Chantilly Lace. He was a Texas DJ. And he was a flamboyant performer. Why is he just a footnote in the February 3,1959 plane crash? He was the one and only Big Bopper.
Don McLean was folding newspapers for his paper route on the morning of February 4, 1959. The plane crash left an impression on him that carried with him until he wrote the song "American Pie" over a decade later. Hence the line "February made me shiver/with every paper I'd deliver. Bad news on the doorstep, I couldn't take one more step."

@@wesleycook7687I agree they even let in the Ramones. I think after it has come out that the Wrecking Crew, did a lot of studio recording for many acts, even The Monkees should be in but only Mickey Dolenz is left from the group.
There’s been talk from his son about a movie about him but so far nothing has come of it. Apparently there’s a film about that tour that’s supposed to start filming this month.
The pilot, Roger Peterson, wasn't certified to fly on instruments alone, which he would have had to do to fly in the conditions over the Dakotas and Iowa that night. On top of it, that real winner of a pilot was flying a plane that featured a type of altitude indicator that functioned nearly opposite of the ones he was used to, meaning he probably idiotically thought he was gaining altitude, when in reality, he was piloting straight for the ground.

Oh man it's so fun to watch him sing this song, he had one of the most expesive faces ever. What a freaking wild man and a hoot and a half to watch, R.I.P Mr. Richardson.

What a shame, he didn't live long enough to receive his gold record or royalties. It was reported he only had $8.00 in his checking account when he died.
Mr. Big Bopper ! He lost his life in an ill-fated, nose-dive, aviation crash on Feb 3, winter 1959. . . A long time ago, with his friends, the great early Rocker, Buddy Holly and Richie Valens, who was an early Mexican American Rock & Roller. A later grave exhumation of the Big Bopper's coffin, revealed that the Big Bopper was remarkably well preserved despite having suffered some 200 bone fractures, sustained during the fatal crash. The reason for his exhumation was to lay to rest any possibility of gun shot wounds, as a gun was discovered on board, which had belonged to Buddy Holly. It was also speculated that The Bopper had tried to leave the crash scene, to seek help. But the coroner concluded the Bopper died on impact and had only been rolled away & separated from the wreck during the traumatic impact of the disabled Beach Bonanza aircraft, that winter night. RIP Brothers.
@@wondertilly5055 According to the autopsy x-rays, the high speed crash broke most of the bones in his body upon impact of the crash and that they all died instantly.

What haunted Waylon even more was, before they left, Buddy Holly said to him, in jest, "I hope your ol' bus freezes up." Waylon replied, "Well, I hope your ol' plane crashes."

Great song. I'm a one man band on youtube. Hope you can enjoy one of my songs.
This would have been about 3-5 months before he died... how sad.
They made a movie about Buddy Holly and Ritchie Vallens but they forgot about the Big Bopper
I think they ought to make a movie about J. P. Richardson and entitle it Chantilly Lace.

i agree. he only had two hits including boppers wedding day
His son has passed away, so it would take someone else to make it come to fruition. It would be a great movie & tribute.
