I just discovered The Big Bopper near the end of 2023, but this man easily brings a smile to my face. The world missed out on several good souls on that fateful day. RIP.
Yeah, I had heard of him but not gotten into his music now too, and love him
The singer who gave up their seat on the plane that night was Waylon Jennings.
The Big Bopper is majorly underrated.
yup bddy
Don't know..... we are listening to his music worldwide 60 years later ...... I think this means he's rated ; )
@@Soundofsilver2007 I don't know... but I'm listening to his music from Italy and I love it! And he never came here
Needs to be in The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Singer, DJ and songwriter. Not a footnote to the plane crash in February 1959.
I was born in 1998 and I love The Big Bopper!
This was one of the songs my grandpa loved to sing. Now that he’s passed every time I hear it, it makes me think of him! What a great song!
This was my late father’s favorite song too. I can still hear him singing along “ohhh baby you KNOWWWW what I like!”
Great song. Hope you can enjoy one of my songs. I'm a one man band on youtube.
Same whenever I hear some of the older songs. Music can transcend time.
Lost my grandpa and hero in December he was friends with "jp" in the army and has an ashtray jp made while they served. My grandpa was the smartest kindest person, like alot of the silent generation he helped make this country what it is today, in all the positive ways. I'm sorry for your loss, it's a pain most of us can share and it's probably the hardest thing I'll ever go through.
The same with me and my Dad, he would answer the phone to my mum with “helooo baby!”
RIP The Big Bopper (October 24, 1930 - February 3, 1959), aged 28
You will be remembered as a legend.
Never forgotten 🇬🇧👍
Rest in Peace, Big Bopper. Your music is still appreciated nearly 60 years after your passing.
Crazy how long ago it was
Today as I type this it’s February 3, 2023, the 64th anniversary of his, Buddy’s and Ritchie’s passing. I’ve been playing their music today. May they Rest in Peace. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Indeed. What a loss. These guys were great.
Better than most that’s kicking about, rip big popper 🙏🏼
I remember the crash.
He was adorable. The world lost so much when that plane went down :(
Well, said.💙💜❣⭐💗
Well like the song says that's the day the music died.

He's just singing about a tramp. That's all the time now.

Ive been jamming to Buddy Holly Big Bopper And Ritchie Valens all week long, I mean I’ve always listened to their songs. But this week I’ve been so depressed and their songs just bring me peace.
🥰🥰🥰
Hang in there! Hopefully things will get better soon…

All three of them, Buddy Holly Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper instantly lost the brightest of musical futures.

When I was a kid, I thought that this was just a country song that I liked.
I thought "The Big Bopper" was a style of music or dance.
There are movies about Ritchie Valens and Buddy Holly and yet, little was known about this great performer! Wow, he died young. Born the same year as my Uncle George!
Underrated!!!!

Remembering the 3 bright stars that went out on 3rd Feb 1959.

Buddy chartered the plane and had no connection to the pilot until that night. Tommy Allsup lost the coin toss to Valens. Dion had already decided to take the bus to save the bus fare.

It was a very sad day. I cried like a baby. I was 16 at the time. Great loss.
60 years ago this young man lost his life. He left this song and others behind as well as a wife and two children who never knew him. Thanks Bopper for the music and this song. They say it was the day the music died. No you, Richie and Buddy died, but the music still lives and thought the music you do too.
This gave me the chills bad. Just reading your comment. It's the absolute truth. Rest In Peace J.P. Buddy & Richie!!! Legends!!

@@jacklucas6692Yet you typed such a vile comment to that person. So, so very sadly neither of you two's spirit will be taken into Heaven when your body dies unless you both repent--change from the ways of your life by asking THE Lord and Saviour Yahoshua to be forgiven--MEANING IT WHOLEHEARTEDLY--believe in HIM of in HIS EVERY spoken "WORD" as HE IS 'THE WORD"--THE BIBLE IS NOT--open your heart, and FULLY LET HIM IN bt DOING ALL of HIS every teaching being "doer of "THE WORD" not JUST being A HEARER of "THE WORD". And YES they do die, and NO one does not just say someone is in Heaven unless they have something to back up of what one is 'claiming' of, and of by how they know that to be true. As for David Cassidy Yahoshua had that David's spirit to be taken into Heaven as Yahoshua told The Ruach Hokadesh to have me to heal David. Three days later I was informed that David had accepted Yahoshua as his Lord and Saviour before his body died. As I have bee praying for David since I was 12 years old in 1970 throughout all those years, and another very great admirer of David Cassidy had been, as I had been all of the years so, so very concerned, and so horrifically saddened for David that she has as well been praying for David since she was 12 years old I 1970,, and she had not even known as I did that David had even been in the hospital 'til she heard on the news of David's passing. She told me of how she was so, so, so very upset, and just started crying so hard then SUDDENLY Yahoshua spoke to her "He is going home".
