Just did it with the latest patch, it works. I highly recommend crouching behind the right pillar as it still keeps the agro but protects you from his ranged missile/ray attack. Once he loses agro, you just need to step in front of the door exactly in front of the half circle design in the floor, and that resets the agro immediately.
Thanks for producing and posting this. I killed him using Night Maiden's Mist. Cast it behind him, ran to the doors of the Sanctum and cast it there again, then ran inside. Rinse repeat until he was dead. I have come across a lot of bosses that were immune to poison and scarlet rot, but have not yet encountered any immune to Night Maiden's Mist.
Night Maiden's Mist is one of my favorite spells. I was considering doing a run using only that spell but don't really know if it'll be interesting enough.
@@snunpai I tend to venture into areas and battle bosses that are a little high for my level. Night Maiden's Mist has saved me from levelling up and coming back later. This monster is like end game boss- hard. Im lv. 86 and he practically one-shots me. Im playing the unpatched version and I promise, I died more times to this fucker, than to Radahn.
works as of 6/25/24 this helped me tyty. also he hit me alot when i was inside the temple and i used all my potions and had to use warming stones to stay alive hahaha
Just wanted to confirm this still works! I took me quite a few tries, but the main point is you have to keep the attention on you and also not get killed lol I used lightning bolt and then arrows when I ran out of fp. Once he’s at the door I would hide behind the first pillars, his attacks will break them but if you’re crouching they still work. Just keep on drawing his attention as he starts walking backwards.
Still works, but it takes a while. My suggestion is go to Siofra River first: there you will find all the glovewort to upgrade Latenna to +5. This will boost her damage a bit. You can buy some dwelling arrows or craft some magic bolts (he's weaker to magic) and help Latenna out by also shooting through the door. But if you are not careful he might roar at you while you are stuck in your shooting animation so pick your shots carefully. Don't forget to have a golden fowl foot ready for more runes when he dies.
I appreciate the good effort! Another good cheese I do for him is using Night Maiden's Mist. He likes to sit at the doorway, so if you drop the Mist there he'll just eat the entire spell.
Tried a bunch, not a great strat, Latenna draws aggro way too easily, especially when Kindred randomly decides to teleport, and once that happens she's dead, no exceptions.
The positioning has to be pretty accurate. Latenna can't be placed anywhere on the edge of the summoning range for this to work. I've only put her up on that tree though so I don't know another applicable spot.
I have the entire run recorded, I just need the time to properly edit and cut it. It's particularly long otherwise but I'm trying to make it as succinct as possible.
I just used the nature bowman dude, didn’t cheese him or anything but that dude is a straight up tank somehow lives like 8 or so hits off this guy and is able to pump decent damage while I aggro him. Took me about an hour or so but I did learn his move set, it was kind of a fun boss IMO other than some timing things I have an issue with lol.
I'm not a fan of his movement/animations. They're unintuitive and only serve to prey on your natural reaction to what you see. For example, the move I hate the most is when he strafes left or right and does a delayed wide swing. The camera gets weird, he can dead angle your shield, and your rolling is off. I actually hate the putrescent knight for the same reason.
The ancestor doesn't have the same range, and will actively walk into melee range rather than being stationary. I imagine he'd fire a few shots but start drawing agro as he approaches.
She'll definitely get one shot if she takes agro. The idea is staying far away enough so he doesn't agro. I do fully agree he's a slog. Learning his moveset is asinine because of his mixups and his obscene repositioning for attacks.

@@jayce4326 Arguably, everyone's moves are telegraphed. I find it difficult for me to dodge kindred anyway. It's easy to overestimate the safety of the building. There's nothing Latenna can do to make dodging his projectiles easier.
