*Just a small update to be even more safe:*
At 1:20 you need to check all options to backup (Boot, Recovery, System, Data, Cache, Baseband, EFS)
At 3:42 you need to check all options to restore (Boot, Recovery, System, Data, Cache, Baseband, EFS)
and boot ?

Hi. There are other partitions on my back up options like Vendor Image, system image etc. Do I also have back up on them? And Should I install it also in restore?

@@futuredoctor2476 The thing is I couldn't back up my data with TWRP either, it gave me some error at the end... however I succesfully saved my data by copying everything manually.
If you have TWRP installed then you can use the navigate function to explore the folders in your device, localize everything you need and copy files or folders to an external SD card. You can save contacts, bookmarks and even open tabs if you know where to search for the files inside the system folders.
Before that I tried a full back up, but like I said, it did finish the process with errors... so I took a look at the log file to delete the conflicting files but still gave me errors so that's why I did proceed to do a manual backup, then I did a factory reset and now I'm writing this from the same device.

in my moto e4 plus i had backed up stock ROM using TWRP but now when i restore it , the System is stuck at boot screen. i now have only choice to install Custom Rom in my phone, because installing Custom Rom only works

In witch cases you backup boot?, I see in other videos people that backup boot too.
For easier understanding backup everything. While restoring, clear everything apart from otg and memory card. Then restore.

How is a full backup made including pictures/mediafiles & documents?
Backup does not include all of the Files, Music, Videos, etc. just the downloaded apps, apps settings & accounts.

if you don't have SD card or OTG, i believe you can BACK it UP on your internal storage and copy it to your laptop before formatting data.

Hey man, I'm just wondering, why is it not safe to back up to internal storage? I have been doing it for a while, and have no problems for now. I will stop doing it, but I am wondering why it's not safe?
Two reasosns:
1. When you flash a new rom we factory reset internal storage, our backup will be lost.
2. If the rom we are using is corrupted unbootable we will have to factory reset, again internal memory is erased.
If we backup to card or USB storage it is always safe.

@@jiguruji5742 yes that is called dirty flashing. It is okay to do so but it is risky, sometimes if the new ROM doesn't support the features of the old one then the phone will be soft bricked and you will have to format internal storage and flash the ROM again

They both mean the same thing. You could say usb flash drive, memery stick, usb storage device etc. they all point to the same thing: a usb stick with data on it

When restoring your phone, there is no need to wipe your phone.
All partions will be auto wiped and overwritten.
i did't wiped the partitions before restoring and my phone got bricked
I think it's just for testing.
