    The row machine does a great job. I like setting seat as high as possibly and chest rest far enough to get good stretch. I pull to my mid section along the sides. Works great. Plus focus on your muscles that your using. I can tell when im not focused as good. Slow reps seems to make focus easier

    I learned this in practice. It's much more natural to try to lift the weight faster to "beat it" and slowly holding the descent phase becomes much more natural. Ultimately, it's about the intensity and how much you "destroyed" your muscles in that set.

    A little slow T injection helps too! From experience

    I usually go intentionally slow during the concentric phase until about halfway through the set, then I try to explode a little bit. But because I’m already nearing failure, the weight moves at exactly the same speed as the first half 😂

    • @adamkarns5455
      @adamkarns5455 Місяць тому +1

      I do the same. I explode when starting to fail but still slow on eccentric. It allows a few more reps in

    • @steviesaysstuff
      @steviesaysstuff Місяць тому +1

      That's exactly how it should be. As you approach failure and are going for another rep. Think "accelerate". You will "lift faster" but will move at the same pace or slower.

      I have a slow cadence HIT book that says you should alternate every 6 weeks or so to do drop sets, and then after six weeks go back to not including them. You can try it and see if it works.

    • @adamkarns5455

      @Piccolo_Re I do drop sets every single work out. I just really like to destroy my self. No break just emiditaly drop set. Sometimes just one sometimes 2 or more

    Do you worry about a wider vs narrower grip for rows?
    A more narrow grip (arms closer to sides) should hit more lats (which you already would obliterate with chin ups to failure). A wider grip should focus on the upper back muscles harder (which is usually the reason we do rows).
    Do you think I should use a wider grip for rows if I use a more narrow neutral/supinated chin up grip? And maybe if I switch things up occasionally and do a wider grip pull up I can pair it with a closer grip row?
    So this way you always have some back exercises stress the upper back muscles more with a wider grip and then a different back exercise that stresses the lats harder with your arms closer to your sides (better exercise blending for complete back development)?
    Do you think this is a good idea or completely overthinking shit, and why? Thanks for your advice!

      I know you can't exactly "isolate* these different areas, but my point/question is shouldn't we emphasis different areas with the different grips?
      Like how you can't ISOLATE the upper chest but you still emphasize it harder with incline pressing. Shouldn't we have some wider grip back exercises to emphasize the upper back?

      @@mohammedumar147 in my experience, having a family, children, a job, many things to take care of, having the chance to know training principles that allow me to workout with the same (if not better) effectiveness but with 4-5 times less time is a huge plus. Huge huge plus. This is not a downside. But I understand that a lot of guys WANT to be at the gym because they like it and they consider it their hobby. Nothing to say about that.
