People love to knock HIT, but I've had more success with it. My joints don't hurt like they used to. I'm 44 so if I feel joint pain...I stop. HIT gets the win for me.
I did this super slow timed style of workout with my ex wife once a week on a sunday as an experiment. she got VERY strong and when her cousin visited she was shocked on how much muscle she added!
I was recently shocked thqt I could now do pullups. This is after working out for the last 6 months intensely. Keep pushing it guys, you’ll be pleasantly surprised on your progress and things you can do that you thought was impossible before.
@@DrOrr yeah same here. It’s not part of my routine because I thought I couldn’t do one (since I couldn’t in the past). The other day I was pleasantly surprised that I could do multiple now, including chinups.
@@Mohammed-r1b2s yeah man I didn’t include them in mine not because I couldn’t do em, but I couldn’t imagine doing enough with the same controlled pace lol. Maybe when I get stronger within the next few months I’ll try to
HiT when done properly will wipe you out like you wrestled a wild Hyena!!! This training is intense and brutal and not for the ego lifter when doing half the weight your use to in slower fashion will burn your muscle like no tomorrow
I started training when 17 to add muscle to a skinny frame as I played senior (mens) Australian football. In 2 years went from 67kgs to 84kgs training the 'traditional way'. While studying Physical Education with a major in Exercise Physiology, I got a job at a Nautilus gym. I'd been stuck on 84-85kgs by now for a few years. In the next 6-7 months training 2-3 times a week full body the Nautilus way, I jumped to 91kgs (increased 6kgs / 13lbs) while also training football 3 times per week which involves a lot of running! Went away from HIT for 30 years for some weird reason! Also made the mistake of going predominantly vegetarian and ended up yo-yoing in weight / fat for the next 25 years! Last Feb was 103Kgs and badly out of shape! Got back into HIT last year while also getting back to predominantly meat, probably 90-95% 'carnivore'. Now 86kgs, in best shape since early 30's (now 59) and got off 'beta blockers' that I was on to stop 12 years of heart palpitations. Channels like this and.others definitely inspired the change. So keep it up Jay
@@giacominagaburro7102 first off I was trained to do this by experts in the field, so that HAS to be said. To answer you, do a three way Menzter split. Chest & back 4 days later, legs, 4 days later shoulders and arms, 4 days later legs. Then keep that up. I choose a weight that takes 4 seconds to complete concentric (Jay Vincent’s suggestion) and keep that 4 seconds for the negative until I fail. I superset EVERYTHING no rest. Each workout is about 15-20 minutes.

Would he have gained more or less, if he had been working out 2x a week? This seems like strong evidence for once per week. Did he lift on the same day every week?
I believe I have heard you say in previous videos that if you go to failure with the current weight there is no need to scale down for extra reps like you did in this video with the chest press.
@@Hakan-jt4wb Assuming he went to true failure with the current weight, would dropping the weight down for extra reps and muscle fatigue be of any value for muscle growth or strength.

@user-se8yv4lc3v From the scan results we see at the beginning, the man put on 7 pounds of muscle and lost 10 pounds of fat in 3 months. If he trained once per week, that means he achieved this in 12 exercise sessions. If he ate more calories and protein, he would have put on more muscle. But he would probably have lost less fat.
I can’t gain a pound for nothing. I consume 3,000 calories a day roughly 200g protein, 200g fat, 50g carbs. Starting to lift 3 days a week. Male 47, 5’9”, 140 lbs.
@@-What-are-your-thoughtsyou got your diet ALL messed up. You may not be able to be reasoned with at this point, but you need 60% carbs, 25% protein, and 15% fat from unprocessed foods and little simple sugar. Solid workout but needs a bigger ROM on the leg press, too much weight too little range of motion. His legs will be aching for days and he’s wondering why, all those half reps. Get a bigger Rom with less weight and reach failure quicker , less doms , less risk of injury then gradually progress from there 👍
In reality you don't know the client's mobility level. He seems like someone new to training, his coordination is also somewhat poor. However, if the intensity is high, a bigger ROM will not make any difference.
