@@5.0gt2 you definitely won’t need to add biceps&triceps. They are highly involved on pulling and pushing movements, (if you train hard enough) But there’s no issue on adding something for isolation. You don’t need but you can.
HIT is the best way I found it for recovery and motivation. The volume I use to do was exhausting being in the gym 3-4hrs a week thinking 1 hour hitting a large muscle was necessary is BS after doing HIt for a year now
Great video. For those who don't know MI40 is an elite gym in Tampa owned by Ben Pakulski. MI stands for Muscle Intelligence because that is how Ben Pakulski believes people should workout. Intelligently. 40 represents a 6 week training block. 42 days minus first Sunday and last Saturday. He explained this on his podcast.
I used to do full body with this level of intensity. I always did leg presses last because they took so much out of me. I had to stop my full body routine because I threw up almost every time after I did leg presses, and felt it was impeding my progress. I ended up switching to to an upper and lower body split instead.
It could just be your conditioning/cardio. I always felt gassed after doing leg exercises, once I started doing cardio again and got a bit leaner it didnt really become much of a problem anymore
When do you think it is best to sprinkle in some cardio? Lets say I do full body every 3-4 days. Should I add the cardio day after my weight day? And always have a rest day before a weight day?
I do a very similar workout! Glad to know I actually stumbled upon the "right" workout just by experimentation Incline press Pulldown Lateral or press Row Leg press Trunk curl or neck flexion/extension
You could definately argue whether he actually does this as his sole mode of training. He could do this on a Monday then hit a high volume upper body workout on Thurs and legs on Friday for all we know. I hope this is all he's doing because It's all I'm doing too😂
The lat pulldown was just perfectly the right weight so Jay could grind out another rep. Not every rep or day you can grind out on more, sometimes you just stop and you have to keep pushing for 10 seconds to make sure.
@@krazus2036 yeah even after 2 years of hit i still have not quite figured out failure. Sometimes you hit "the wall" but then somehow you keep pushing, wait a second and the weight suddenly keeps moving

Haha the legpress with slow movement.. Have doing this for a while and after I'm done with this exercise I always make the same mistake and rising up to early. Feels litterally like I going to faint. Its a struggle, but kinda like it to feel totally fucked up.
I've always said I agree with everything Jay preaches except for that goofy slow motion rep speed. I slow down on the negative but explode on the positive, that's what Lee Haney and Dorian Yates preach
I don’t like super slow but I move slow enough to reduce shearing forces and protect my joints. Dorian tore his biceps and triceps tendons. I’ve supervised over 25,000 sessions in my studios without a single injury. But by all means, do whatever rep speed you prefer.
I agree with you, explosive concentric movements, slowed-down eccentric phases. Additionally, I've observed that the Valsalva maneuver is not commonly employed.
I personally would have done a leg press where you can put plates on it. I never liked those leg press cable machines. You end up doing the whole stack for reps.
Great video. The durstion on the static holds at thr end of each sense is a great reminder that my own intensity could always be higher. Have you removed isolation bis and tris and leg extension/curl from your personal routine?
When I do the leg press I do because it destroys me. I’m not doing a static hold actually. I am contracting against the weight, in perfect form, as hard as I can. It’s way better
@@JayVincentFitness yeah I think that's what I meant. Didn't know how to refer to it other than as a static hold. Basically just lifting the weight until it can no longer be lifted and holding it until it can no longer be held, right?
@@JayVincentFitness Yep, more or less. I don't think I ever got a chance to train on the XPLoad, and it's discontinued now. 2. Lat pulldowns
3. Lateral raises
