Hi Todd, I just want to thank you for these videos. I watched your FOI series twice and read the aviation instructors handbook like you suggested. I passed my CFI Initial checkride today with flying colors and my examiner mentioned how impressed she was with my FOI knowledge in the debrief. Your videos made studying the FOI material fun and I really appreciate that. Thanks for everything!
Hello, Isaac! Thanks for the kudos and that is wonderful news that you passed your CFI initial on the first go!! I knew you could do it. Keep up the great work, and again, congratulations!
@@ahmedoteify2018 It varies so much between DPEs. I'm actually at a 141 school that haws examining authority so its a little bit different here. I started with FOI, then he quizzed me on W&B and had me do my scenario for that. Then runway incursions, stalls and spins, etc.
I just finished up this entire series, making copious notes for my CFI Check ride (hopefully this October). Thanks so much for making this material available! I've used it in during my Groundschool lessons and my CFI has been impressed!
Todd, you are the man. Thank you for helping me understand the FOI's. Your lessons are the real deal! Hopefully doing my check-ride in Iowa here next month.
They are now teaching to the limited liability concept that I deduced from seeing the same routes and fitting of material. This gets people through safely while in training, but unleashes folks with less than 15 hour solo pic experience though CFII! Crazy times we live in.
Preparing for my CFI Watched regs endorsement foi vids ...i dont know what will be the result of my checkride but the content and the way you have presented everything has definitly boosted my confidence and knowledge.i thank you for puting this up on this platform and having it so easily accessible to everyone.this is not a one time watch its a watch for life..thank you
Regs can be a tricky thing to learn, mainly because of how it's written and how the FAA has to put all categories and classes of aircraft in part 61 (they don't know who is going to be reading it). So when you pick out just the airplane stuff, it's really only about 20 or so pages of regulatory guidance that you must review. Narrow your scope and regs become rather easy!
I was wondering if you were going to mention icing. I know it’s more of a Weather or CFII topic, but up here in Michigan, we discuss it quite often, especially this time of year! Anyway, thank you for making these videos, such a great help and resource to have! Merry Christmas!
Hi Michael, of course there are so many things that you can add into this massively huge subject. Risk management is involved in literally everything that we do in aviation. I try to keep these short and sweet and not expand too much so I won’t blow peoples heads off their shoulders with large amounts of information. Your reply means that you get the overall point and that’s good.
Hi Todd. First of all thank you very much for doing and sharing this series of video, you are the best. One question, where I can find the other chapters? Flight instructor responsibilities, etc. Thank you.
Hello! Yes, the new edition of the 8083-9 does have a different perspective on the Risk Mangament Process. It narrows it down into two separate parts; the Process itself (ID the hazard, Assess the Risk, Mitiagate the Risk), and then the Implementation of the process (Apply the steps in sequence, Maintain a balance, Apply the process in a cycle, and Invove people in the process). These steps can be covered in the current IAAMIS acronym as well and will not be an issue to the examiner. Hope this helps.
Hey tod, Thank you for the vedios, but is is available to look to my lesson plan during the oral exam? I understand everything you said but hard to remember all of these acronyms, my instructor told me I should memorize everything because keep looking to my lesson plan is not good indication to the examiner.
Sorry for the late reply - you have to have an understating of the material, and with that, the acronyms will come naturally. If you use the acronym RUAC, the first thing to do is to rote the layout of the lesson by using the acronyms. So if a DPE gives you a scenario about a student acting out during a lesson, you should be able to use acronyms such as the defense mechanisms to assist you in helping the student in maintaining their motivation and stress levels so learning does not decrease. Does this make sense? Let me know if I can help further.
@@ToddShellnuttCPC Thank you so much for reply , I got your point, it's good if the DPE asked as a scenario but if it's a direct question I just need to look at my notes to remember the acronym then I can explain everything .

Hey Todd. I couldn’t find IAAMIS (Risk Management Process) list in the new 8083-9B. Please advise

these are great, but just on a side note, have you lost a lot of weight and gotten ripped lately?!
Thanks for the kudos! I have lost just a little over 120 lbs.
