I just passed my CFI Checkride. Your videos, explanations, and examples helped me so much. Thank you Todd. I most certainly used you as a reference throughout the checkride.
That is so awesome!! I am glad to be a part of this experience with you.
I can say with confidence that these videos helped me pass my CFI initial checkride today
That is awesome!! I know you are happy to have that behind you.
Student at ATP Mesa. Todd’s videos are always super helpful and I learn something new each time I watch. Thank you Todd!
As much as I feel bored going through the FOIs as much as I enjoy your jokes and sense of humor. There is no way that I could enjoy studying such a topic with someone else. You sir and captain make me laugh and learn at the same time. We can't thank you enough, god bless you.
Todd, I passed my CFI initial checkride a couple weeks ago and it was thanks to your videos that I got through it! All the stories you told and the acronyms associated with them helped me get through the FOI portion of the checkride with ease! I just wanted to say thank you and I couldn’t have done it without your instruction! -Andreas
Hi Todd, this is Henry from LA. I passed cfi checkride yesterday on the first attempt!😄
I would like to say thank you for providing great videos. I first found your videos in youtube and ended up subscribing the patreon, it was one of the best choices I’d made.
I could see how to approach FOI from your videos and it worked!
Besides since english isn’t my mother language, understanding regs always have been a challenge to me, but your explanation helped me out a lot.
Thanks again and happy new year!
Hi Henry! That is absolutely wonderful news! I am so happy that you were able to be successful by utilizing the videos that I created. Please make sure to spread the word with others CFI candidates so that they may take use of my product as well. Congratulations again on a job well done!
Todd Shellnutt Yes I will. I’ve shared it to my friend cfi students.
What did your FOI portion cover? Of course task E. But what else did your examiner ask?
@@nathanaller2835 My FOI went pretty practical with scenarios, based on the PLT codes I missed in my written test. It began like “You finally got a student for private whose name is Mary, 30 year-old housewife with zero aviation experience. How would you start the training from Day 1?” So my examiner wished to hear my action to student quoted from Aviation Instructor’s Handbook such as Maslow’s hierarchy. And on and on. But I know some may get questions line by line from PTS. Either ways, this video would be helpful to grasp how to approach FOI.
"Don't go to the edge of the sky!"- I laughed a little too much at that.... Thanks for these videos. I'm preparing for me CFI now, but have also watched your videos for pervious certs and they are a great help.
“Everybody likes to have those little tiny wings”. Love the video. Thank you.
I'm glad you mentioned accident reports, I binged watched a whole bunch of aviation safety videos and I almost gave up flying because my whole outlook was "I'm going to die" definitely need a healthy balance.
You’re literally THE BEST! I don’t know how someone dislike any of your videos Todd! I’m revolted here because 5 people did that on this one. Come on man, I believe they’re crazy, minimum.... I wish the best for you!
This is what strives me to be a better instructor!! I wish I could talk to those 5 people and see where I fell short so I can do better in the future. Like all pilots and Instructors, I am always learning.
They probably accidentally hit the dislike button while they were scrolling down to watch more of his videos. ;)
Fantastic. Sincere thanks for the effort you put in these and for sharing them.
This is great for my checkride prep!
These are awesome Todd. I appreciate your candor to make an absolutely dry subject accessible and interesting.
Your channel is very helpful. I got may CFI yesterday. By using the way to remember and explain from what you suggest. Thank you Todd
Hi Todd, your videos are amazing. I started following you because of the regs videos when I did my commercial about 4 months ago, and now I'm using your 8 weeks to CFI while I prepare for my CFI oral! Great motivation and great way to explain things! I'm really enjoying it. Thanks
Great video! Looking forward to the video on maneuvers that you mentioned as well.
Fantastic coverage. Sharing.
I pad: The heads down display 😂😂 Hilarious Sir!
The most valuable videos on UA-cam! I absolutely love the FOIs now

Todd, good videos. I wish you had 100x this many subscribers, but hopefully people will stumble across these videos like I did and get on board!
Hi Alton! Thank you very much for the kind words, but trying to get large amounts of subscribers over fundamentals of instruction and regulations is quite the challenge. You could help me out a great deal by spreading the good news with your other aviation friends and letting them know of the hidden treasures found here on my page. Thanks for being such a loyal subscriber!
Thanks for all great content! What's the the breakdown for PEAK PATHS?
The acronym is PEEP PASS. You can find it in Figure 8-5 on page 8-5 in the AIH. Let me know if you have issues locating it.
That makes more sense! Got it now. Thank you
Amazing! Thank you
Hi Todd! Going for my initial CFI next month. Super nervous, but your videos and especially the jokes are talking me off the ledge haha. Thank you! “Edge of sky is a failure” nice. “Paperwork = the t/o weight” 👍🏽

Hello Todd, I got busted in regulations on my Cfi initial. I’m looking forward for the regulations videos. Also if you could provide another video regarding endorsement scenarios. It would be great, thanks.
Sorry to hear that. You can find endorsement scenarios over at my Patreon channel here: www.patreon.com/toddshellnutt/posts?#no_universal_links
Hey Todd! I’m currently at KGKY doing my CFI training. Any chance you could do my spin flight?? I’d love to be able to pick your brain.
What type of aircraft do you fly on a regular basis?thanks
172, PA28, and PA44
Rocking material!! Hey Todd I have been following all your lessons. Learning a lot from them can you please point me to TaskC and TaskG lessons of FOI please.
Those videos are found on my Patreon page here: www.patreon.com/toddshellnutt
Hey Todd, thanks for the effort I’m doing my cfi next month, the question is, in the video you mentioned that my pilot certificates can be converted into a credit in an aviation school can you please tell me more about that, I’ve searched about it but looks like I didn’t know where and how does this work thanks again for the effort ((:
Hello Mohammed, this would be specicif ot the school that you are sttending. When I converted mine to college credit, I simply just sent a scanned copy of all of my certificates to the school, and they gave me close to 40 credit hours for the conversion. Hope this heslps.
Hey Todd, do you have a recommendation for college online for credits?
In my opinion almost any will do. The top ones that stand out in my mind are (in no particular order); UND, UVU, Liberty University, and ERU. There are others, of course, but I think these have the biggest presence in the industry at the moment for the online credits.
You are also able to claim (challenge) college credits in their programs for any FAA certificates you may already have, up to 30 credits (or maybe more).
Does the pilot cert exchange for college hours thing still exist? I’m so curious about, cause I was planning on getting my bachelors degree after training. I’m at ATP right now in Mesa, AZ.
Yes! Many educational institutions offer this. I was able to get credit for over 30 hours for all of my ratings when I went back to college in the early 2000's and that is still around today. Here is just one example: www.liberty.edu/online/experience-plus/
Ok awesome thank you!! I will definitely check that out for sure. Subscribed and definitely telling my CFI buddies to watch this.
Firstly, Thankyou sir for all your help. I am an international student currently acquiring The CFI licence. Secondly, I am interested in your statements regarding college. Would you have any recommendations of any schools in California that offer bachelor degree in aviation.
Hi Pranay! Thanks for the kind words. I am not personally familiar with any aviation degree program in the state of California.
how did you do it can you share with me , thank you
Hello Sir, Beautiful Videos. Please could you make a video on POWERFUL PILOT RESUME
