So we bought a M1 Mac mini as our livestream setup through OBS, of course I did this before checking that Dante worked on it 😕 found your video and thought there was no hope. Everything we tried to get the Audio working through Dante to OBS was a no go. Dante Via loads and appears to work but not Dante Controller. So I thought what if you just use Dante Controller on an older Mac to do your routing. Well the theory was sound and for all intents and purposes it appeared to be working but we couldn’t get the audio to interface with Dane no matter what. Then right before packing it in tonight I remembered that in Big Sur when installing apps it will ask you if you want to give the app certain permissions. Well lo and behold if you go to the System Preferences and look at the microphone and give Dante (And in our case OBS) permissions to access the microphone everything starts working beautifully. Now there’s one more caveat I’ve been having issues where when I stop and start Dante Via it causes OBS to stop responding and in one instance it was so bad the iMac (Not an M1) wouldn’t even allow you to force quit and I had to hard power cycle the machine and even go as far as to safe mode boot before anything worked right. I haven’t tested the stop/start on the M1 with OBS yet after the permissions change but before it would start freezing and you had to wait and restart OBS or force quit in some instances no system crash yet. If that changes I can update. Sorry for the long rant but I thought it might be helpful to you if the Dante Controller workaround with a non M1 Mac is a temporary solution that works for you. Also from documentation Dante isn’t the most stable under Big Sur yet so hopefully an update sooner rather than later.
Thanks for the info. Audinate got me to try the new version of Via which did work, but would only allow 1 device with 16 inputs (the input was 32 channel) and only a stereo out, not ideal for headphone mixes etc
Dante Via, and controller work, but virtual soundcard still not working. Via is 16 channels, but just not quite as flexible. But the routing on controller is just fab!
I bought 6 m1 Mac mini’s about two weeks ago for a pretty big production project we have coming up and found out about Dante not working with the m1 chipset today... I’m a little worried lol🙃

I'm so frustrated Dante hasn't released an update yet 😔

Hopefully when it gets working it will be awesome and stable!
