I am so glad that I found you!! I have a DIY hypertufa project saved from years ago and I was pretty intimidated by it until just now! You made it seem easier than the written instructions i have without a video. Thanks for sharing your awesome work! Cannot wait to do this now!!!!
I’ve done this same technique only instead of a ceramic pot I used a bucked like the one you’re mixing in. I just cut a thing around the top so that it didn’t have rim and looked the exact same shape at the pit used here. It came out looking very similar a cost far less. I do however appreciate the moss tip and will try to use it next time I make one. Great video!:-)
Excellent project. I have done this with stone sinks to make rustic troughs. If you can't get moss, you can mix the finishing mortar with animal or plant milk and the organic mix will find moss and lichens naturally over one year.
Gosh- I JUST saw a pot like your finished product and it retailed for $200. I now know how to make it for 1/4 of the price! Wow!!! Thank you! Gorgeous!!!
Thank you Bonnie! I am in need of a live olive but am so afraid I'll kill it! 😩 Maybe this spring or summer I'll get some courage to get myself a live olive in the living room! 😉
Hi Stephanie! I have actually tried the mortar on a plastic pot, it does work. However, if the thickness at the top of the pot isn't on the thicker side it tends to still have a flimsy type look. I like the look of a real thick sturdy pot so it's all the look you'd like but I prefer a pot that has some thickness at the top (if that makes sense!)
@@ValerieAguiar Agree Valerie, but you can definitely find thicker rimmed pots for under $10 at a GoodWill or Craigslist. Nonetheless, your work is beautiful and love your channel. :)
thankyou, it's amazing, but I thing we can try it on a plastic planter and can save more. . This is what I think. I am not sure whether it would come out as your DIY but we can try
Of course, you can! :) Whatever works best for you. I find the look is a little different on plastic planters because many of them don't have the thickness of a ceramic or other heavier type material. But you may love it. Thanks for watching!
I just fond this while researching how to cover a plastic planter with cement! I need a big one but they are so expensive and I can not transport nor handle one anyway. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful DIY. I LOVE IT. I hope it will work on the big plastic pot I have. :-)
Hi Barbara! They are really expensive, which is why I decided to figure out a way to get the look for less! And you're so welcome... I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I can't wait to hear how your DIY goes!
Can’t wait to try this one! I have a request! I would love for you to do a video on a ‘found terracotta’ grouping. I keep seeing these with spring coming around and I know you will be about to show us how to get that old weathered terracotta collection made.
Looks beautiful! We had went camping recently and I grabbed some moss while we were out, originally going to use to put moss on the two big rocks I got from the same area last year, but I might use it to do this to one of my planters like yours. Mine is a bit smaller so I may have enough for both Thank you
I've seen a number of your videos and love them all! :) I am a bit confused now between using mortar, plaster and quick-set cement mix. Can you provide some insight? I'd appreciate it :) Thank you :)
Aw, thank you! I know how you feel! I went back to get a second one and they were all out of stock at my store! 😩 I have to wait until they restock to do another!
This looks so beautiful, will try this right away. Just found your channel :)) thank u.i don't know which mortar mix to buy as I'm in Germany and I don't know if it's because of this I can't open the mortar link above. Thank u so much for help :)) and your inspiration :)

But you used cheap plastic ceramic is way better
Super easy to understand
Beautiful result
Thank you.

So sweet of you Terri! Thanks for watching! 😊
Amazing diy! Now I have another pot diy to do. I really love the addition of the ground moss.
Add them to the list, haha! 😂
Love this. Do you think I can get the same results with a plastic pot and drywall mud?
I was thinking the same

Love this! But, go to Craigslisgt or Marketplace and get a pot for MUCH cheaper than $44.
@@ValerieAguiar Agree Valerie, but you can definitely find thicker rimmed pots for under $10 at a GoodWill or Craigslist. Nonetheless, your work is beautiful and love your channel. :)
Love the pot ! Off the topic- what colors are your walls ?
Thank you darling! I done that’s! My pot looks little different, but very nice, luxury and style amazing 🙏✨
That's so awesome to hear! Congrats on taking the jump and doing the project! I bet it looks amazing! 😊
@@ValerieAguiar ❤️

Hi Irene! Yes, you could do that too! 😊
Wow! Looks great! You did an awesome job! Very in rt now! 👍
Thank you!! 😀
That's a really great finish! The aged look is cool!
So beautiful!
Thank you!!!
I loved this diy. I’m gonna do it this next week!
Yay! Thank you!
Great! Love every moment of creation. However, can I do this with a plastic one because all the add-ons might make it heavier...yes?❤❤❤
WOW! I’m actually super impressed right now.. dang girl! What else can you do? I am totally doing this, I have just the pot!! Thanks😘🙌🏻
Hi Gwen!! :) If you've got the pot, then you already half way there!! Let me know how it goes! 💕
Omg, that's breathtaking ❤❤❤

I really like that, it looks like stone!! I wonder if the mortar would stick to plastic as well!! Thanks for sharing!
It should work fine!!
Did you keep the planter outside? It’s good with rain and whatnot? Just like regular cement?
Muy buen trabajo! Muy ingenioso!!! Lo haré yo traía algo en mente así!!!👌
Thank you Mary!! 💕
FANTASTIC!!!!
Thank you Joey!! 💕
I really really love the pot an thanks so much for showing us how to do it

As a safeguard put some felt on the bottom of your pot to protect your floors 🥰
Great idea!! Thank you! 💕

Thanks Misty! I love that idea, I’ll start doing some research☺️. Thanks for the request!
I am waiting for it too!
Omg! Gorgeous! Great job!
Thank you Erlinda!💕
It does help. Porland cement cures between 15-45oC.
Thanks for the info! 💕
Why exactly did you use two colors of concrete? Just curious if that did something that I’m missing. Love it.👍🏼👍🏼🥰
Really good!
Thank you Janet! 💕
That is gorgeous 😍😍😍😍 Now how do I talk my husband into doing this on our fireplace rock wall...🤔🤣🤣🤣
I’m wondering if you could use same idea on the Home Depot orange pail? Much cheaper and not as heavy?
Hi Catherine! That's not a bad idea to try. If you try it, let me know how it goes!
@Justus Diego do you just go around spamming different videos.?? This the 3rd video where I've seen your stupid comment. Get a life.
Do you think this would work as an outdoor planter too?
Thought the same. Way cheaper!
I think it would work better on something less flexible. Would love to know if you do try it how it holds up.
This is soo fantastic!! You did a great job!!
Thank you! Hope you have a great day!
Beautiful ❤️

Looks stunning! I cant wait to try it myself!
Hi Matiss! Let me know how it turns out! 👍
Beautiful! It works on plastic pots?
I love this result. Would this material work for synthetic planters?
Love it 😊
Thanks Marta 💕
Love this😂
Loved this
I am going to try it on my black urns I think it will be great What color moss did you use.
Hi Liz! I'm sorry, I totally can't remember the name of it. I'll see if I can look it up and reply back :)
Amazing work!!!!
I don’t know why but u just found you. Love all your project!! Is this pot can stay outside??
Hi! Yes, it can stay outside! :)
Beautiful. I'm wanting to use this with real plants. Will the finish hold up?
Looks great! Good job. Thanks for sharing such a great idea. ❤️
You are so welcome! And thanks for the support! 💕
You did a fantastic job 👏🏽. I love ❤️ it!!
Gorgeous Valerie could this be kept outside?
Mortar acts just like concrete so yes, should be fine outside! :)
This looks so beautiful, will try this right away. Just found your channel :)) thank u.i don't know which mortar mix to buy as I'm in Germany and I don't know if it's because of this I can't open the mortar link above. Thank u so much for help :)) and your inspiration :)
Ale- it doesn't have to be the mortar she showed. ANY mortar that is used for tile will work. Germany will have their own :)
